2019 British Grand Prix - Predicament Predictions!

Post by Rob Dylan »

Crikey, guv'na, shine you' shoes, m8. It's the British Grand Prix, and with it comes the Predicament Predictions round. I won't be there this year, which I'm sad about, but I'll obviously still be hosting this championship. Soon I'll be finding some decent prizes for this year's competition, and when I do I'll let you guys know. Until then, here is your blank slate. Get predicting!

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.

9.
10.

Pole:
Fastest lap:
First retirement:
Reject of the Race:
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race:
Deadbeat Teammate of the Race:
Minor League Premiership:
Number of Safety Cars:

There's always a point for the funniest alternative race title you guys can come up with. The candidates for Minor League Premiership are: Alexander Albon; Antonio Giovinazzi; Lando Norris; George Russell. And you are always welcome to activate double points for one round only.

My predictions are:

1. Sebastian Vettel
2. Charles Leclerc
3. Lewis Hamilton
4. Valtteri Bottas
5. Max Verstappen
6. Carlos Sainz Jr.
7. Lando Norris
8. Pierre Gasly
9. Daniel Ricciardo
10. Kimi Räikkönen

Pole: Lewis Hamilton
Fastest lap: Charles Leclerc
First retirement: Robert Kubica
ROTR: Team Orders (robbing Leclerc of his first win again)
IIDOTR: Jenson Button (trousers fall down whilst handing one of the trophies)
DBTMOTR: Antonio Giovinazzi
MLP: Lando Norris
SCs: 1

You have until the end of FP3 to submit your predictions, or some penalties may apply. Good luck everyone

Our double-points users were clear winners this week! Fetzie earns a whopping 38 points, and CarloSpace is right behind them. Way ahead of their rivals mario and Bleu on 20 points, this causes a bit of a shake-up at the front of the standings. As written below, I was generous with the nominations today, and as so many of you voted for Haas and Rich Energy-related things for Reject of the Race, you all got points: everybody wins! Here are the results:

Results
1. Fetzie 38*
2. CarloSpace 36*
3. mario 20
- Bleu 20

5. Faustus 19
- Aguvazk 19
- dr-baker 19
8. yannicksamlad 18
9. CaptainGetz12 17
- tommykl 17***
11. Pacific 777 16.5**
12. Gertrand Bachot 16
13. RAK 15
14. Rob Dylan 12
- You-Gee-Eee-Day 12
16. ElBerto 11
17. FortiWinks 10
*used double points
**I’d prefer if you were more specific, but because you were indeed correct, I’ll give you half a point instead of the usual two.
***funniest alternative race title
Everyone who voted for Haas or Rich Energy or anything like that got the points – I was feeling generous today.

And as you can probably see now, the race-winner has jumped up to second in the standings. mario's consistency means that they are slowly climbing the ladder, and will be the usual dark horse this season, using their double-points very late in the game. But it is dr-baker who remains our championship leader, who in a repeat of last year is leading going into the halfway mark. Can he keep it to the end? Let's find out! Here are the standings:

Standings
1. dr-baker 169.17
2. Fetzie 159
3. RAK 149

4. ElBerto 146
5. mario 144
6. tommykl 141
7. Gertrand Bachot 140
8. Bleu 125
9. CaptainGetz12 125
10. Aguvazk 123
11. Rob Dylan 122
12. You-Gee-Eee-Day 120
13. UncreativeUsername37 113
14. CarloSpace 105
15. yannicksamlad 103
16. FortiWinks 95
17. AdrianBelmonte_ 70
18. Enforcer 51
19. Pacific 777 44.5
20. This Could Be You 35
21. Faustus 30
22. Psyclepath 30
23. Klon 19
