URGENT: Your Predicament Predctione needs updating!

Post by Rob Dylan »

I thought that would get your attention.

Everything's fine, but I was just at a rally with CarloSpace earlier today, and we were having a discussion about some kind of interesting quirk we can put into the predicament predictions championship.

So since the start of 2019, we took away DNS and replaced it with Number of Safety Cars. While this means that you might actually get a point extra once in a while, it doesn't seem, well, rejectful enough. It's functional, but I feel like there could be a much more fun and rejectful possibility that we could put in in its place.

So I just want to open up this thread for anyone to put in any suggestions they might have for a new addition to Predicament Predictions. Make it as fun and silly as you want, so long as it's at least quantifiable in some way or other.

As I made the thread, I will put forward the suggestion that CarloSpace made to me earlier today:
- Guess the number of penalties that will be handed out during the race.

The floor is open, go ahead.

To make it quantifiable: how many cars will finish behind the Williams-es? (DNF's do not count).

Using this year's Monaco GP as an example, would Giovinazzi count as two in this question as he lost to both Russell and Kubica?

I think its just how many cars finish behind whichever Williams does best (that aren't themselves a Williams).

Who (minus Williams) will finish last?

If Formula 1.5 exists, Norris won it by finishing 6th last race.

Likewise, if Williams are Formula 2, then ah I don't know where I was going with this :D

How many cars will DNF?

How many cars from F1.5 will beat Pierre Gasly?

Will Lance Stroll escape Q1?

How many times will Kubica be lapped? :(

As a quantifiable percentage, decided arbitrarily by my cynical father.

I'd vote for "Penalties issued by the Stewards during the race session".

This would very specifically exclude penalties issued after the chequered flag falls.

While writing my Predicament prediction for Germany, it occurred to me, may have an entry for number of virtual safety cars.
