2019 Japanese Grand Prix - Predicament Predictions!

My brother knows better Japanese than I do - I think the only words I know are either from movies, adverts, or Filthy Frank. So I will avoid writing random Japanese things as a clichéd opening to this thread. So Konichi-Wahh, Ladies and Gentlemen, it's getting near the end of the 2019 Predicament Predictions season, and we're at one of the more interesting tracks of the year. Suzuka can bring some real bores of races, though the fact that it tests a driver's skill so heavily when the big day comes, means that some real talent can shine through on the right day. Let's see who can guess the best about what will happen in Japan this weekend!

So for the third time in 2019, but for the first time since all the way back in China, ElBerto wins a race! Having led the first four races until Azerbaijan this year, they are still within striking distance of that coveted Predicament Predictions trophy! And with four races to go, this is precisely what they needed. Other podium sitters included...me!... and other former championship leader dr-baker. Talking himself down going into this race, dr-baker now sits only 1.83 points behind the championship leader, the defending 2018 champion RAK. The former beat the latter by two points, showing that there's very few points in it when you get to the very front of the standings. Let's look at the race results:

And so yes, let's take a look at the standings too. At this point, elimination is setting in. Only the top 17 runners can mathematically win the championship, and that includes when taking a possible double points into account. I would guess that the top 5 are the ones who have the highest chance of winning, with 6th downward out of range. But strange things have happened before on this competition, so let's not guess too early. RAK still leads, but with a very small gap, whilst mario holds the double points possibility - the only one in the top 10 with that power left - which could provide a joker in the deck.

Oh my gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh the results and the standings have all changed. Everything's changed! Well, no, not really all that much. Using the best of my ability to correct the standings - I hope I have been 100% accurate - the Renaults have been deleted from the Suzuka results and now the updated scores are out for you guys and how you did. Most people's scores stayed within a point of how it was originally, with the big change being race-winner ElBerto losing three points. That means that they are now sharing the win with.... me! Congratulations me on my first win. I swear this is not a fix :lol:
