Fernando Alonso injured in cycling accident

Looks like Fernando Alonso has gone and done a Mark Webber and hurt himself whilst cycling.
The fact that he won't be getting medical examinations until tomorrow morning implies that the injuries are too severe but it doesn't seem too much of a stretch to assume he will be missing some number of races this year (and undoubtedly the rest of the pre-season).

EDIT: If Andrew Benson is to be believed, he has broken his jaw in the accident.

While it sounds serious, it equally sounds less worrying than Alex Zanardi's situation. Hoping for a full recovery and the eventual return to the cockpit still seems plausible at this point.

Rumours that Nico Hulkenberg was seen fleeing the scene laughing maniacally have not been confirmed.
