How Far Back: 1 lap (not sure what this one means as it didn't exist the last time I did a prediction, can someone shed some light pleez?)


Is "how many laps down from the lead lap will the last classified finisher be when they take the chequered flag?".

So at the Portuguese Grand Prix for example, the correct answer was +2 for Mazepin's 19th position classification.

The Court of Robs has taken its time to discuss the appeal made by a one "doctor baker", and it has rejected the appeal. Editing predictions is perfectly fine before the FP3 deadline, but baker's final predictions stand. As a result, he has lost a crucial point in the championship.

Remember all, that going into the final round of Predicament Predictions 2019, our title protagonists were separated by less than a point. Who knows what this means for the championship overall.

Two records have been broken today. As far as I can see from my records, this is the most points anyone has ever won ever in one round of predicament predictions in my time. And that is both for double points and for without. Before now, the records stood as:

Most points earned with double points (max 82): 40 at the 2018 Brazilian Grand Prix (mario)
Most points earned without double points (max 41): 27 at the 2019 French Grand Prix (mario again lol)

Aislabie and Mario have beaten those respective records, after a predictable result in an unfortunately predictable series has given us sooooooo many high points-scorers. Just about the only thing that was universally mistaken was Tsunoda as MLP. However, even though you all thought he would be MLP, you also somehow KNEW he would be DBTMOTR too :x damn you all I mean good job! Aislabie and I were the first protagonists to use double points this season, and yet mario still managed to equal me :facepalm:

What does this mean for the championship therefore?

For the first time ever (maybe), Aislabie leads the championship with their super result. It propels them and mario up the standings, whilst Ducktanian has been our dark horse so far. Consistently at the front even if never winning, Duck is now 4th overall and hasn't used double points. Aislabie will find it hard to maintain that lead, but they've used the double at the absolute perfect point. dr-baker falls from 1st to 3rd in one race, and that is after scoring 18 points! It's uber-competitive here at Predicament Predictions, and I'm sure it will only get crazier as the season goes on. Stay tuned...


And that just about does it for a high-scoring round with dramatic implications for the championship. See you in Monaco :dance:

Just pointing out for dr-baker's sake, but wouldn't his 76 points put him third at present if all of the other points totals are correct?

haha yes you are correct, now it was my turn to make a mistake. Thanks for noticing :P The scores are all correct, just the positions were in the wrong order.

Dammit. Didn't realise the mistake until after the end of FP3 though, so it was too late by then. Just gotta hope for the best. It'll be galling if I lose by a point or less come the end of the year. It'll be just my luck if I do though...

Sixth place. Either way, while this might be a tight, competitive contest at the end of the year, I'm fairly sure I've finished in the top 10 a couple of times in previous while accidentally missing an entire race, so the Perez/Albon confusion might not make a critical difference in the end.

Apologies for the harshness, but them's the rules. You still have plenty of time and opportunity to win this year baker, and you are always at the front somewhere :)
