2021 French Grand Prix - Predicament Predictions!

Now that you all have a headache, let's get started with the French Grand Prix Predicament Predictions Grand Prix of France in 2021, shall we? It's everyone's favourite migraine-inducing circuit Paul Ricard, which famously boasts a whole canon of two dull races since its revival a couple of years back.

So.

Will this be another snooze-fest, or a 2012 Valencia? Will Vettel be in the top five yet again - indeed, will he win it? Can Red Bull keep up their pace or is it just a matter of time before Hamilton and Mercedes jump them again? Will the French embarrass themselves yet again just like they did three years ago? After all, France seems to be very good at winning ROTR on home soil.

MLP: Nikita Mazepin
HFB: 5 (Yuki makes it back to the track and refuses to retire the car)

Ok doke, it was a relatively predictable round, and so the scores for once were a little more widespread than before. There were some incredible performances, as well as some surprisingly poor ones.

The funniest thing I noticed from counting up the scores is that so many of you predicted Tsunoda to lead the rookies, but also to be the deadbeat teammate of the race. To be both would certainly be unpredictable :D

Anyhoo, let's check the scores from Paul Ricard.

I was kind to the latecomers and only removed the pole points as normal. What I'm going to do about CopyGate for the Styrian Grand Prix, is yet to be decided :D

But for now, Ducktanian wins in France! With a pretty good outcome, 30 points is a considerable load of points to jump him up the standings. tBone, who also used double points, did not fair as well unfortunately. Elsewhere, most notably RAK had a very poor show and finished joint-last. With eternal rival dr-baker also having had a few low scores, it seems that mario is the only one of the established runners to be consistently scoring high. Shall this be mario's year yet again?

Well, perhaps not, because it appears that championship leader Aislabie doesn't need the double points to do well after all! 18 points without double points is a respectable haul, and exactly the kind of result needed to stay at the front of the pack.

Whilst most of you will have immediately noticed Ducktanian jumping up to 2nd in the standings, more impressive to me is Bleu's fantastic score jumping them up from 11th to 4th! No frontrunner outside the top 2 has used their double points yet, so it really is as evenly matched as it appears at the front.

The way I see it, the other rookies are in the Haas cars, which are bathpluggingly bad. Tsunoda can have a complete shocker of a race while Gasly can have a magical one, but still have Tsunoda finish ahead of Schumacher and Mazepin.

That is very true - under normal circumstances, Tsunoda is usually going to be a healthy distance ahead of the Haas cars and only really a DNF is likely to result in him falling behind either of those two drivers.
