2021 Austrian Grand Prix - Predicament Predictions!

No rest for the wicked.

Welcome back to the Austrian Grand Prix, the second of two races in...Austria, yes I still think it's silly that they did it this way round.

I'll get the French scores counted up after this thread is up. As usual, you have until the end of FP3 to submit your predictions without any penalty. If you need to know the rules, just post up here or check the season opener at Bahrain, where the scores and predictions are explained.

Well Austria was predictable. Of course it was, I mean it was just the same race two weeks in a row. Therefore, the points total was on average higher for people this weekend around than the previous one, just for knowing the general pace of the cars around the Ring.

While Verstappen rolled off into the distance in real life, who won in our far more important predictions championship?

UncreativeUsername37 wins in Austria with double points! A good idea of track to use doubles for, what with our knowledge of the season so far. It's also UU37's first win in two years - the previous being here in Austria in 2019! Funny coincidence that.

CaptainGetz12 and Londoner were our tied second-placed finishers, and scored the most base points overall from anyone. Taking away double points would see Getz win yet again, having won the previous round. It seems the momentum is on Getz's side: two consecutive podiums and a regular strong finisher has seen them jump straight into championship contention. Elsewhere Londoner had their biggest points haul of the season with 20. The old guard of RAK, mario and dr-baker, all had roughly the same result, while 2017's third-placed UU37 now jumps up to... 3rd! Another coincidence.

Championship leader Aislabie loses a few points to all their rivals, but it is hardly anything major, as the lead remains strong over any of the competition who have not used double points yet. It's a long way to go until the end, but Aislabie seems to be doing everything right for now.

It did indeed, and here it is! All the championships have been fully counted up since I've been running it in 2017. However, I think before that you have to go as far back as 2011-2 to get a full season counted up. People had the habit of putting up the threads but not actually adding up the results.

Since 2018 I've been putting the results up on a handy spreadsheet. 2017 I was just using Word and so I don't have the results so easily to hand.

Maybe one very bored day I might add up all the results of prior seasons. But it is not today!
