New: 2017 Season Preview

Post by Ataxia »

Two articles in three days? What on earth is going on?

After finding some free time between coursework hand-ins, I've slapped together a quick-and-dirty season preview for the new season (WHICH STARTS NEXT WEEK OMG I'M SO EXCITED)

You can read it here: http://gprejects.com/news/2017-season-preview

Enjoy!

The team predictions seem fairly spot-on to me! (Apart from Renault being one or two places too high perhaps? Time will tell!)

I agree that the article is good and does seem to be fairly spot on, although I do agree with you that Renault does seem a little high on first sight.

However, thinking about it, the decision doesn't seem unreasonable - Force India reportedly have ended up over the weight limit, though they are hopeful that they can introduce lighter parts for the Australian GP, Toro Rosso were hindered by mechanical issues in the pre-season tests, Haas are probably not going to have the development resources required to match Renault, Sauber seem to have a car that has a neutral balance but is lacking downforce and McLaren will probably be relieved just to see the flag at the end of the race.
In those circumstances, I can see why you might pick Renault for 5th - it is, I believe, their official target for this season, and at the moment they look like they could get that position due to their rivals having other performance issues that hold them back.
