I've been reading "Faust" by Goethe for my exam, and in the second part (Tragoedie - Zweiter Teil) it appears that "Vettel" is used as a pejorative term to say... well, erm... bitch

I suppose it is only the case with old German, I don't think the word "Vettel" has that meaning in nowadays language

any german-speaking members here? :?:

Google translator tells me Vettel means either witch or harpy. Not far off that meaning.
