Yeah definitely, I've never really bothered myself with the F3RWRS liveries, I didn't even make one for 2016, so that can wait a while!

But once again, thanks for doing this, I'll look forward to getting started next week! I have a pretty cool idea of a poster/infographic thing I'm going to do with them all together. :D

Turbogirl's Template Thread - Jones Racing Designs

And here I have the first two templates for Jones Racing. I hope you like them. :)

Jones 100

Starting off with an extremely basic and conservative design, perfect for a young and inexperienced team for their inaugural season. You might recognize some design elements from both the Virgin VR02 and the Lotus T127, because after you already mentioned them, I had another look and copied some of their basic outlinings.

Jones 101

Following up is the successor. In case you might be wondering about the very boxy design of the engine cover: While the 100 has a typical engine cover, the one of the 101 is supposed to be a mere flap, similar to the one from the HRT F111 I've posted earlier, but not as full frontal ugly as that one. More smooth like the engine cover from the (Lotus) Renault R31. You might want to set a few highlights in Photoshop to emphasize that detail, otherwise it'll look like a downgrade.

Regarding the next two designs, I have a question: You said the 102B is basically a complete re-design, although "B" hints towards a specification. Since I've already started outlining the next evolutions of the design, I've actually managed to create a hybrid between the 102 design and the 103 one. You can still notice some recurring elements from the unraced 102, but already with a heavy lean towards the 103 (e.g. nosecone pointing downwards, while the one from the 102 is as high as it can get).

Since that was not exactly what you asked for, is it still okay if I continue or do you want the break in style to be as obvious as possible?

You little ripper!

Great stuff, they're perfect, thanks very much! I know what I'll be doing for the rest of the evening!

About the 102/102B/103: The "B" was a mistake in hindsight because really the idea was that the two designs were totally separate, but I'm happy to stick with it, so what you've come up with already (the hybrid) will be fine. :)

And here comes the next wave! :)

Jones 102

Possibly the highest nosecone I've ever drawn. Too bad, this is supposed to be the car that never raced, because I actually like it.

Image

Jones 102B

And the hybrid I told you about. Nosecone already starting to point downwards again, while there is a new diffusor in play and an even smoother outlining on the sidepods.

Lovely! Thanks! :)

EDIT: One thing I will add, to keep in mind for the next ones, is the top of the sidepod shouldn't go any lower than what it is on the 102B, if anything, higher ones like the ones on the C3xx series you've done would be magic. Maybe something halfway between the C304 and the the 102B you've done here would be good to aim for. Other than that, a great job, and I've already painted those two templates!

Don't worry about the sidepods. This is as low as they will get anyway in order to end up with the C304. I've already noticed that during my first sketches for the remaining designs. It was more of an experiment, just like the extremely high nosecone on the 102. From hereon the sidepods will rise again. :)

A new week and a new luck. So let's continue with the Jones designs, shall we?

Jones 103

I have to admit, I'm a little bit disappointed, that I didn't think of this design earlier. It would have been a wonderful addition to the F1RWRS designs for 2017 in general. Oh well, I'm pretty sure, you will also put it to good use, AndreaModa. ;)

Out of interest...

Recently I promised pi314159 to upload the entire 1983 grid for his series, so if it's still okay with you...

...I would like to upload the Jones 107 this week, but skip the F3RWRS designs to later and first post the templates for pi's series, since that one is about to start soon and he wanted to make liveries for it in time. Given he has more than 20 teams on his grid right now, that'll be a pretty big task for him. Is that okay with you, AndreaModa? :)

Yeah of course, this is fine! I've had the lion's share of your drawing efforts recently so it's only fair someone else gets to join in! Along with the 107 though, would it be possible to do a 109 for the upcoming 2017 season as well? :)

Sure, but I was under the impression you wanted to use the C304? I can't promise you the 109 would look that different, given I've already based the two recent designs on the C304. But I will do my best. ;)

Ah no, I hadn't realised that, my mistake! I will use the C304 and save you the hassle as I have already drawn a livery on that template.

Jones 107

And here comes our final puzzle piece, the Jones 107. Regarding the Jones 109: As I've stated earlier in this thread, I don't mind if you want to re-dub the templates I've posted for the 2017 season, so feel free to use the C304 and re-dub it Jones 109. :)

McLaren MP4/2 (1984)

Since there is room for one more template, let's start with the 1983 grid for pi314159's alternate F1 universe. I'm following the entry list in your 1981 thread, so the first template to be uploaded is the McLaren. I hope you like it.

Turbogirl's Template Thread - 1981 Virtual F1 templates (par

by Turbogirl
@pi314159: I know, I promised you the complete 1983 grid, but I recently discovered these two templates I made a few years back and decided to post them here for the following reasons:

1.) They're the original 1981 designs, "simply" stripped of their ground effect enhancements and turned into turbo cars (specification "T" for turbo);

2.) If you're planning on hosting more seasons after 1981, you might have to recycle the 1983 templates in later years because of a lack of alternatives.

Anyways, maybe you have a use for these two templates, otherwise I can still post the 1983 models of the Arrows and the Ligier, if you insist... :)

Arrows A4T

Added a front wing and designed the sidepods like the one from the 1984 Arrows A7.

Image

http://www.formularejects.com/imageuplo ... 4t1981.png

Ligier JS17T

Shortened the original sidepods and added a front wing, similar to the one from the 1983 Ligier JS21.

Image

http://www.formularejects.com/imageuplo ... 7t1981.png

Of course, not every ground-effect car can be turned into a non-ground-effect car that "easily" or at all. The Lotus 88, for example, is impossible, because it's the most perfect ground effect car ever made. But rest assured, I'll keep on posting the 1983 grid from now on, since I never really bothered turning more ground effect cars into turbos like these two. ;)

Sorry for the late reply. The cars are good, and as you say, it allows me to use the 1983 cars for a later season. I currently don't have much time for the series, that's why I haven't done the Ligier and Arrows liveries yet, but I'm still planning to do liveries for all teams. Anyway, thanks a lot for these templates.

Glad you like them. And don't worry about the liveries. You go at your pace, I go at mine and we'll meet somewhere along the way. :)

Here comes the third wave of templates:

Brabham BT52 (1983)

Image

http://www.formularejects.com/imageuplo ... 521983.png

Shadow DN13 (1981)

Yup, another one of my very own designs, since Shadow never made it to 1981 in real life and I wasn't all too hyped about the thought of using the 1983 Spirit design (or any other for that matter) to act as a substitute, so I made up my own. Also the DN12, later known as the Theodore TR2 in 1981, is a ground-effect car not suited for a re-design a la Arrows and Ligier (I tried and it just looked awful). At first I wanted to go full circle and design the latest Shadow like an Arrows, but I was afraid you might not appreciate this "design joke", so I derived the DN13 from older Shadow models, adding newly designed sidepods and engine cover.

Oh wow these are fantastic and can finally add some designs for my cars in my two alternate championships and future ones. A few more 1991 - 1993 cars would be greatly appreciated as can print them off, colour in and upload.

I'm sure you would indeed greatly appreciate a few more, but sadly, it looks like Turbogirl has not been on this forum since mid-June. :(

That is a shame, I am sure I can make do with what has been added to this thread, just my luck that what I was looking for was existing on the very forum I frequent the most for F1.
