I went to this today, guy drove the MP4-23 through Deansgate and Allbert square, it rained but made little difference as the council could only let him drive at a maximum of 70mph, but it was astonishing! Seeing the car that close was one thing, but the sound of overrun as it dumped wads of unburnt fuel into the exhaust ws akin to a shotgun being fired! Anyway, did get some footage of it, I apologise profusely for the camera shake but excited children and lots of others around me made professional shooting impossible!
I really wanted to go but I was 30 miles south at Oulton Park for the Gold Cup - loads of historic racing with F3s, FFords, tin tops and the like from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
I really would have thought the organisers might have combined the two events and given the car a run around Oulton for the rain-soaked crowds. It's not like Jonathan Palmer (owner of Oulton) is an outsider to F1.
Originally I was going to go Oulton park myself but then this got announced and I was forced into a decision, this event was mainly vodafone than anything so I am guessing that is why it wasn't combined, Jenson also drove the Mclaren MP4-12c road car twice around which I have footage of as well, haven't put it online yet but will do soon

There was a demo in my hometown last year (Coulthard did some runs in the RB5) but it was at 6am (presumably to minimize the effects on closing roads downtown) and I had a session in College at 7. By the time I got there it was over.
