My rankings for cars 1-12 (cars 14-25 coming soon)

Red Bull: Qualifying results looked worrying for them compared to McLaren and Mercedes, but as expected they had race pace which was helped by a safety car just at the right time: Verdict - B+
Vettel: The former world champion proved he could race from the pack, with that stunning pass on Rosberg, though he did make a rare mistake trying to pass the Schu. 2nd place a good result considering his grid spot. Verdict - A
Webber: On the start I thought, oh dear, Webber's walked under a ladder again. That safety car gained him about 3 places, he'd have been stuck behind Alonso and Rosberg. His best ever start to a season in terms of position none the less. Verdict - A-

McLaren: Right from the outset McLaren looked to be the team to beat this weekend, and they backed that up with a great race. Proof that those platypus bills are completely unnecessary. Verdict - A+
Button: It's easy to see that Button loves Albert Park. He took pole here in '06, and back to back wins in '09 and '10. His third win there today shows that he's now the clear McLaren number 1 and the favourite for the title. Verdict - A+
Hamilton: Lewis seems to have an extra spring in his step after checking out of the Heartbreak Hotel, though he's still the number 2 at McLaren after another great performance from Button. Verdict - A

Ferrari: Oh dear, Ferrari are nearly back to 2009-esque lows. The car looks terrible and they didn't make it to Q3 for the first time since Malaysia 2010. Verdict: C-
Alonso: The "surrender monkey" didn't live up to his F1 Rejects nickname today, dragging a fifth place out of that crapbox Ferrari. Could have been much better on Saturday though, that was an amateur style mistake. Verdict - B
Massa: The pressure's on Massa to deliver, otherwise he's gone. From what we saw today, it seems as if Ferrari will have a new second driver in the near future. If he was a pizza delivery boy, the pizza would arrive cold, and the pizza you ordered from the other shop would already be here. Verdict - D

Mercedes: False promises? They haz dem. From practice and qualifying results it seemed as if Brawn had pulled off another stroke of genius. Fast forward to the race, and the wheels were falling off as quick as you could say "Fernando Alonso at Hungary in 2009". Verdict - C+
Schumacher: Looked to be on course for a great result, and then the car failed. Verdict - B
Rosberg: Pace in practice and qualifying suggested he could have been a dark horse for a podium, but the car wasn't as good as we'd expected in race trim. Not sure what happened at the end - out of fuel perhaps. Verdict - B-

Lotus: I don't think anyone knew what to expect from them, even after Grosjean's astonishing performance in Q3. To rank them is quite difficult, given Raikonnen's low starting position and Grosjean's early retirement. Verdict - B
Räikkonen: In practice it seemed he had a case of Trulli-itis, complaining about the power steering. I don't think anyone expected the most talked about driver in the off season to be knocked out in Q1, but he redeemed himself with a solid performance in the race. Verdict - B-
Grosjean: Grosjean was easily the surprise in qualifying, but his race ended as quickly as it started. After fluffing the start, he was rather rudely taken out by Maldonado. Verdict - B+

Force India: The best of the midfielders at the end of the last season turned out to be the worst of the midfielders today, though Hulkenberg's early retirement had contributed a lot to that. Verdict - C
Di Resta: A lot like the early part of last season to be honest - fairly anonymous, but still manages to score a point. Verdict - B-
Hülkenberg: Retired too early to really show what he was capable of, hence, no ranking.
This is a cool spot.

I think you're supposed to rate them out of 10.

Vettel - 8
Webber - 6

Button - 10
Hamilton - 8

Alonso - 7
Massa - 2

Schumacher - 7
Rosberg - 7

Räikkonen - 8
Grosjean - 5

Di Resta - 6
Hülkenberg - 5

Kobayashi - 8
Perez - 8

Ricciardo - 6
Vergne - 7

Maldonado - 5
Senna - 6

Kovalainen - 5
Petrov - 5

Glock - 6
Pic - 5

I gave 5 to drivers who were anonymous and Maldonado, for the good he earned in the 57.5 laps was balanced out by his crash.

Vettel

He was lucky to score second place, even if he did have the edge over Lewis, however, he also profited from Mercedes' downfall. He's happy to get second. 9/10.

Webber

If it wasn't for his yet again messed up start, I dare to say he would have finished second. However, he couldn't get past Lewis, so this mired him to 4th place. 8/10.

Button

Jenson had this in control right from the start. Passing his teammate, then pulling a Vettel. Having driven without any mistakes, he's clearly done the best he could. 10/10, no doubt.

Hamilton

Lewis walked backwards from the start. First, second, and due to the safety car, finally third. Is he feeling the heat from Jenson already? 6/10.

Alonso

Alonso has put his head down, and despite his car's being more of a "shitbox" than an actual winner, he snuck home in fifth. Kudos to him also for defending against Pastor. 9/10, great job, but his distance from the first four is frightening.

Massa

Sorry, but this is starting to become Ivan Capelli's 1992. While Alesi kept himself together (and finishing even on the podium as well), Felipe is just on a downwards slope. He's just not worthy of a Ferrari drive anymore. 3/10.

Schumacher

Old man Michael was unlucky to not finish third in quali, but his mistake at Turn 1, then the retirement blacked out - we can't really rate his race pace yet, but still, if he can keep this up, it's going to be decent, making him Nr. 1 Mercedes driver. 7/10.

Rosberg

Nico, this is just the same as you did last year. You were supposed to be a rising star, like your successor in GP2, called a certain Lewis Hamilton. He needs to be closer to the front. 5/10

Räikkonen

Kimi might have messed up his qualifying, but still, he brought home six valuable points for Lotus. If he can improve his qualifying speed, he'll be a force to reckon with, unless Lotus does a 2011... 7/10.

Grosjean

From third to retirement. The jury is out on Romain, his race pace is yet to be seen. I'll rate him 6/10 due to the shocker quali lap.

Di Resta

Sneaky Paul mate has scored a point aight. However, he seems to be anonymous... 5/10.

Hülkenberg

The jury is out on Nico. He gets a 6 due to his Q3 appearance, but his retirement is not a good sign. 6/10.

Kobayashi

With a damaged front wing nonetheless, a sixth place shows that Sauber is a great - even if oversteering! - car to drive. Kamui must be happy to finish sixth. 8/10.

Perez

He did it AGAIN!!! Another one-stop strategy. He was lucky to score points though... 9/10 (due to his strategy!)

Ricciardo

He finished AHEAD of Vergne, despite being involved in the first lap shenanigans. Also, his final lap showed his maturity. 8/10, a great drive.

Vergne

Not bad for a first race, but he needs to stay on track and stay calm. 6/10.

Maldonado

If it wasn't for the last lap, I'd give him a 10/10. But, since he binned it, he gets a 7. He needs to calm down and focus. 7/10.

Senna

Semmed to play second fiddle to Pastor all weekend... 5/10.

Kovalainen

Same place as last year, sad to see this really. 5/10.

Petrov

His retirement caused the Safety Car to be deployed, he's close to Heikki. 5/10.

Glock

Anonymous drive. 5/10.

Pic

Feels like he's going to be dumped after this season. 4/10.

Vettel - 7 - nice start, nice pass on Rosberg, dealt nicely with the situation that he's not in the quickest car
Webber - 6 - he was better than last year, promising, but still has to work on his starts

Button - 9 - made a great start, had the race under control, great drive
Hamilton - 6 - It's never good when you have no chance for winning despite starting from pole; he was also unlucky with the SC

Alonso - 7 - 5th is too good with this Ferrari
Massa - 2 - his great start saved him from a 1

Schumacher - 6 - it was a promising race for him until his car failed
Rosberg - 5 - brilliant start, not too goo afterwards

Raikkonen - 6 - decent racing despite the disturbing blue flags
Grosjean - 4 - hard to rate, missed a great chance, partly because of his dreadful start

di Resta - 5 - fairly anonymous, nice move at the end though to score a rather unexpected point
Hulkenberg - 4 - went out early, but had a nice qualifying

Kobayashi - 8 - awesome race, hopefully he can do this through the whole year this time
Perez - 7 - reliable drive, nice recovery from the grid penalty

Ricciardo - 7 - points in his first race in a decent car, great result considering his early problems
Vergne - 5 - his lack of experience cost him a points finish in the end

Maldonado - 6 - great drive for most laps, but "you have to finish"
Senna - 4 - terrible pace, terrible race, although he was unlucky, too

Kovalainen - 4 - only thing he takes away from Melbourne is a grid penalty
Petrov - 5 - was he racing?

Glock - 6 - nice race to start a season, his joint best finish since he joined Virgin
Pic - 5 - reliable drive, finished his first race

Vettel 8 had good pace, but safety car got him past Hamilton. Bonus point for great pass on Rosberg.
Webber 6 another awful start and he couldn't overtake as well as Vettel did.

Button 10, Simply flawless.
Hamilton 7, Was unlucky not to have 2nd place, but in truth he should of managed it.

Alonso 10, Putting that piece of junk 5th was incredible.
Massa 2, Probably the worst race since Massa's return and that is some achievement

Schumacher 7, unlucky to have car die, would probably have finished 5th.
Rosberg 5, Bellow par performance from what you would expect of Rosberg.

Räikkonen 7, drove through the field well, though should of qualified higher
Grosjean 7, dreadfully unlucky to have his race ruined by Maldonado.

Di Resta 7, Bonus point for last lap points steal, generally slower then Hulkenberg
Hülkenberg 7, Unlucky to lose out in lap 1 Melee.

Kobayashi 9, A return for the Kobayashi of old, enjoyable to watch all day.
Perez 8, Perez also did what he does best, good day for Sauber.

Ricciardo 8, Mature drive following lap 1 problems, very good.
Vergne 6, inexperience showed but he doesn't seem too bad a prospect.

Maldonado 5, Dr Jekyll? Aggression was his undoing, mistakes and crashes took away from great pace.
Senna 3, Just bad, no other description.

Kovalainen 5, Not a good day for the team, lap 1 shenanigans and retirement.
Petrov 4, Retirement brought out safety car, that is as noticeable as he has been all weekend.

Glock 7, steady stuff for Glock, quick out of the box and a good team leader.
Pic 4, Baptism of fire for Pic in a Marussia, hard to see how he will stand out, another di Grassi, D'ambrosio looks to be on the cards.

Vettel: 8 - Good race all around but I think the gap has closed between them and McLaren. The real test though will be Malaysia.
Webber: 7 - I think he could have managed 3rd but he really needs to work on starts.

Button: 9 - Great race all around, and probably the best driver concerning tire usage. If things go like this he might be the 2012 champion but it's way too early to tell.
Hamilton: 7 - Could have gotten 2nd though he should be lucky he got 3rd.

Alonso: 8 - That crapbox of a Ferrari doesn't show his true form...or maybe it does because that car has no reason to be in 5th place.
Massa: 1.5 - Anonymous for the most part and that accident with Senna was downright stupid.

Schumacher: 7 - I think Schumacher can score a podium this year considering the car's pace. If it wasn't for the gearbox issue I think he would have been on the podium today.
Rosberg: 4.5 - Not one of his finer races. What happened at the end anyway?

Räikkonen: 7 - Moving up the field was wonderful yes, but he should not have qualified nineteenth.
Grosjean: 8 - That third place was unexpected to say the least. Could have had a great race if Maldonado didn't break his suspension.

Di Resta: 6 - Getting that point was awesome but I think he should have been faster.
Hülkenberg: 7 - If he wasn't involved in that 1st lap mess then I think he would have managed 7th or 8th.

Kobayashi: 8 - Doesn't trump Suzuka 2010 for me but that was one of his better races. I'm assuming the FIA didn't dock him for the damaged wing.
Perez: 6 - Coming from 22nd is a remarkable achievement. Blocking a bunch of cars isn't. That said, good race from him.

Ricciardo: 5 - Anonymous driving. Dunno his full potential yet.
Vergne: 5 - See above.

Maldonado: 4 - His pace was excellent; there is no doubt about that, and I did not expect to see Maldonado, much less a Williams, in 6th place for so long. However, that 1st lap incident with Grosjean was completely avoidable and that last lap brain fart was hilarious if anything.
Senna: 2 - Wasn't he behind Glock at one point? Terrible race for him though the lap 1 incident was not his fault. The one with Massa could go either way, so who knows.

Kovalainen: 3 - Nowhere to be found all race and was slapped by the FIA with a penalty for Sepang.
Petrov: 3 - Anonymous though his retirement was no fault of his own.

Glock: 7 - I'm surprised he held his own with that car. Good job for him.
Pic: 5 - Well they have to start somewhere, do they? Let's see how he does in Malaysia.

Vettel - 9: Solid drive, and proved again that he can race.
Webber - 8: Held on to Vettel remarkably well considering he's never been too good at Melbourne, but will be disappointed to be behind at the finish after qualifying ahead of Vettel.

Button - 10: He had the race won at turn 1. Flawless drive.
Hamilton - 6: Should've won, but was outclassed by Button all day, then got pipped at the safety car by Vettel for 2nd.

Alonso - 10: You'd think that after being handed another dud car that he'd start phoning it in, but you'd be wrong.
Massa - 1: Absolutely pathetic. Why is he still here?

Schumacher - 8: A good start and was running strongly, but a bit hard to rate because we don't know if he would've dropped off like Rosberg did.
Rosberg - 4: Should've been gunning for a podium, but was instead fighting with the midfield for minor points. Needs to up his game, because he didn't look so good after last year.

Räikkonen - 9: A solid comeback drive after some bad luck in qualifying.
Grosjean - 7: What a lap to secure 3rd; too bad that he fluffed the start and then got nerfed off by Maldonado

Di Resta - 6: Nice opportunism at the end, but was fairly anonymous for the other 57 laps.
Hülkenberg - 3: I do think he was more to blame than some of the others in the 1st corner melee.

Kobayashi - 9: Banzai! Great to see a return to 2010 form!
Perez - 8: Another solid drive, again showcasing his excellent tyre management skills.

Ricciardo - 8: He was pretty unlucky to not be allowed to set a time in Q3, for whatever reason, then got caught up in the first corner fracas, but he kept his head and stole 2 points at the end; though Maldonado's self-destruction and the safety car helped out a bit in that respect
Vergne - 7: Solidly just outside the points all day, was unlucky not to score after that small slide at turn 13.

Maldonado - 6: I almost started to believe in him - then he crashed. On the last lap. What the hell.
Senna - 2: I forgot he was in the race until he and Massa collided. Abysmal, especially considering how Maldonado was going

Kovalainen - 5: Fairly anonymous, the team still have quite some work to do to score points.
Petrov - 6: He was ahead of Kovalainen when he retired, which, given that he was drafted in at the 11th hour, was not too shabby.

Glock - 4: About as good as can be expected.
Pic - 4: He wasn't that far off of Glock, really.

Vettel - 7. Solid race, lucky to jump Hamilton because of Safety car.
Webber - 7. Finally beaten his Minardi result. Kept it out of trouble despite spending most of the race in 5-6-7th places.

Button - 9. Great start, faultless drive. Deserves to be top.
Hamilton - 8. Lost out to Button at the start, and then Vettel during SC period. Solid nonetheless.

Alonso - 7. Ok, we all understand he drove a sh!tbox car into 5th. But he got round the melee at turn 1 to be in the top 8 after the first lap. Rosberg and Schumacher fell away, so didn't excatly fight his way through. Had a fiesty Maldonado behind for most of it.
Massa - 2. Amazed he still drives a Ferrari. Silly moments all weekend, crash with Senna was his doing.

Schumacher - 6. Sadly, car was looking good until it failed. Might've fallen behind both Red Bull's later on.
Rosberg - 4. In a race where he could've made a statement, he did. But for the wrong reason. Typical Rosberg sadly.

Raikkonen - 7. "What's the blue flags for?" comment made me chuckle. But a great drive anyway, spending all race it seems scrapping for points. Looks like he's never been away.
Grosjean - 4. Poor start and turned into Maldonado after the move had already been done.

Di Resta - 5. Would've been a rating of 4 but for opportunistic move at the end.
Hulkenberg - 5. Average rating for a bloke I saw nothing of sadly.

Kobayashi - 7. Typical good race from Kobayashi. Poor qualifying see's him involved in lots of battles towards a deserving points finish.
Perez - 7. See above.

Ricciardo - 8. Get's caught up in first corner crunch, drops to near-back for entire race then BAM, 9th place! Well done.
Vergne - 8. Impressed with his qualifying. Impressed with his front-of-the-field driving during the stops. Impressed with his ability to stay away from petty clashes. Unimpressed with not taking advantage of the final lap chaos. But someone was always going to lose out, hence the high rating.

Maldonado - 8. The final lap ruined his chances of a 9, but an 8 is deserving for a bloke I thought was a joke-driver.
Senna - 6. Thought he could've been in the points had it not been for scraps at the start and with Massa.

Kovalainen - 6. Seemed to be roughly on the pace at the start.
Petrov - 6. See above.

Glock - 7. Got the car to the finish, and wasn't that slow to be honest.
Pic - 6. Not the best debut, finishing 4 laps adrift. But he still finished.

Vettel - Q-5, R-8.5. The RB8 is nothing special this year, yet he managed a remarkable drive. Loses points for that little excursion on the grass and because he got rather lucky with the SC. Closer to an 8 than a 9.
Webber - Q-7, R-6. Better than usual, but that start was atrocious. Did a great job in Q3 edging Vettel despite lacking KERS.

Button - Q-9, R-10. If he was driving for Red Bull you'd confuse him for last year's Vettel. Perfect. He does have the best car on the grid, but that doesn't detract anything from today's drive. Driver of the day.
Hamilton - Q-9, R-6. He really should've done better than this. His troubles aren't over. And seriously, at the end he had his head slumped down like he had lost the damn championship. Unacceptable.

Alonso - Q-6, R-8. The Ferrari isn't as bad as we all thought, but that doesn't detract from his great drive.
Massa - Q-3, R-2. Looked moderately decent early on, but then his brain seemed to do a number on him. Again.

Schumacher - Q-7, R-8.5. I'm not sure how valid this is though, since he retired rather early after borrowing Vettel's "gearbox problem" and Webber's lawn and fusing them together. Looked very strong, though.
Rosberg - Q-7, R-6. Was unlucky at the end, but that doesn't change the fact that he had a very weak race.

Räikkonen - Q-3, R-8. Strong from start to finish, it's a shame he only started in P17. That Massa-like brain fade at the end of Q1 made me laugh. Also, "WHY DO I GET ALL THE TIME BLUE FLAGS?!"
Grosjean - Q-9, R-N/A. He retired way too early. Really felt sorry for him.

Di Resta - Q-5, R-5.5. Largely invisible. Was lucky to jump Vergne at the end.
Hülkenberg - Q-7, R-N/A. The car doesn't seem as good as everyone thought, yet he did well to outqualify his higher rated teammate. A shame he went out so early.

Kobayashi - Q-8, R-7. Kamikaze-style driving gets no points in my book, especially after nearly crashing into Kimi on at least one occasion. Largely outshined by Perez as well.
Perez - Q-4, R-8. Exceptional drive all throughout. Loses points for that bit at the end with Rosberg.

Ricciardo - Q-8, R-8. Great drive for him as well after he dropped to last early on. He did luck out with the SC though.
Vergne - Q-8, R-6. Outshined by his teammate. A shame he lost that point to Di Resta though, he still deserved it.

Maldonado - Q-8, R-8. Only loses points for his aggressive shenanigans and his crash at the end. Otherwise, splendid drive, kept Alonso on his toes. If we're to discount the aforementioned things, I'd actually give him driver of the day.
Senna - Q-4, R-5. Destroyed by Maldonado. Was very unlucky at the start and with Massa, so he was pretty much on his back foot for the entirety of the race.

Kovalainen - Q-5, R-5. Invisible. Gatorham + problems = unhappy finn.
Petrov - Q-5, R-5. Invisible. Gatorham + problems = unhappy cosmonaut.

Glock - Q-5, R-6.5. Not much else he could've done, really. Marussia is as bad as ever.
Pic - Q-5, R-5. Initially gave him a 4, but I later learned that he retired near the end, which would explain why he was so far behind his teammate.
Sticking his neck on the line, one post at a time. Oh, and Singapore is still better than Monaco.

Vettel - Didn't qualify well, hustled the Mercs and Hamilton well in the race. Perhaps lucky to get 2nd, but did well. 8
Webber - Good, solid race. Nothing spectacular but stayed with Hamilton well. 6

Button - In the words of Charlie Sheen, winning. Stole a march on the rest of the field and stayed there. 10
Hamilton - Qualified very well, perhaps is right to be a little disappointed though with the race. 7.5

Alonso - Give him a good car and he'll win. Give him a crap car and he's still in the mix. Very good job by him 8.5
Massa - If a classroom of students was comprised of F1 drivers, he'd be the one in detention. Or wearing the duncecap. 2

Schumacher - The car suited him today. For a bit, anyway, until his car became a gearless lawnmower. 8
Rosberg - Messed-up a little in quali, started well but the car's not brilliant on its tyres. 6

Räikkonen - Raced like he'd never been away. Brain-fade in qualifying might have scuppered his chances of 4th or 5th. 7
Grosjean - Qualified exceptionally well. I'd class his incident with Maldonado as a 50-50 challenge. 6.5

Di Resta - Pretty anonymous. Did well to sneak the last point but the car should be capable of more. 5.5
Hülkenberg - Well, he retired at the start. Not much to say, really. 5

Kobayashi - That's more like it...wasn't an ideal qualifying but the car's definitely quite good. 7.5
Perez - King of Tyre Preservation again. Ferrari should really start looking more at him. 7

Ricciardo - Kept his nose clean, slipped into 9th right at the death. Not half-bad. 7
Vergne - Looks to be very quick. Missed out on points at the end, probably deserved some. 6.5

Maldonado - Oh, Pastor. Nearly beat Williams' 2011 tally until a little slip on the grass cost him dearly. Raced well though. 7.5
Senna - He got nudged into a spin at the start. This, and Massa driving like a complete tard kinda put him out of point contention 5

Kovalainen - He was nowhere to be seen. 5
Petrov - Ditto. Definitely better than what Trulli would have done, though. 5

Glock - Finally, wringing the best out the team. 6
Pic - Looks a little out of his depth at the moment. Canning D'Ambrosio for him doesn't seem to have paid off...yet. 4

1 Sebastian Vettel - Managed to get 2nd, albeit helped by the safety car. 7.5/10.
2 Mark Webber - As has been said, nothing spectacular, but a good performance nonetheless. 7/10.

3 Jenson Button - Shown the racecraft for which he has been known in 2011, and took the win with style. Flawless. 10/10.
4 Lewis Hamilton - Though it may look like 'whining', I think he may be right in looking disappointed after losing 2nd place to Vettel. 7/10.

5 Fernando Alonso - Flattered the car. Squeezed every last drop out of it, and handled the pressure Maldonado put on him superbly. 9/10.
6 Felipe Massa - Had a disastrous weekend. Could never get to grips with the car, at one point was losing time to Caterham, and ended the race with a collision with Bruno Senna for 13th. My prime candidate for ROTR. 2/10.

7 Michael Schumacher - Did great in qualifying, was doing OK but was let down by the car in the opening stages of the race. 7/10.
8 Nico Rosberg - Not as good a weekend as Schuey, was there or thereabouts. 6.5/10.

9 Kimi Räikkönen - Had a few slip-ups that showed he was on a 'comeback', but nonetheless performed well to get 7th from that lowly starting position. 7.5/10.
10 Romain Grosjean - Stellar qualifying performance, however had a poor start and had his race cut short by the incident with Maldonado, which I would classify as a racing incident. 7.5/10.

11 Paul di Resta - Managed a points-scoring finish. 6/10.
12 Nico Hulkenberg - Retired on the first lap, can't say much.N/A.

14 Kamui Kobayashi - solid performance, and 6th in the end. 7.5/10.
15 Sergio Perez - great race from the back of the pack. Even ran 2nd for a while. 8.5/10.

16 Daniel Ricciardo - Good points finish. 7/10.
17 Jean-Eric Vergne - Did well in his debut race. Was in the fight with di Resta for the last point. 6.5/10.

18 Pastor Maldonado - Who would think he'd be putting pressure on Alonso, on a day Alonso was doing far too well, and running very high... only for him to bin it in the last lap. A shame, really... I'd rate him higher were it not for that. Decided to give him my vote on IIDOTR instead of Alonso on the basis of unexpectedness. 8/10.
19 Bruno Senna - That first-lap shunt might have hurt his car's performance, and it was no fault of his own, but fact is that he didn't really recover, and faded, until the tangle with Massa. 4.5/10.

20 Heikki Kovalainen - Had an OK performance until he was let down by the car. 5.5/10.
21 Vitaly Petrov - More or less the same as Kovalainen. 5.5/10.

22 Pedro de la Rosa - Got a DNQ, but that kind of was to be expected. N/A.
23 Narain Karthikeyan - Same as de la Rosa. N/A.

24 Timo Glock - His 14th place may prove crucial for Marussia. 6.5/10.
25 Charles Pic - As has been said here already, looked a bit out of his depth. Even driving a Marussia, will have to up his game. 3.5/10.

On a 1-10 scale with 6 being any given Nick Heidfeld performance.

Vettel - 7 - Squeezed a bit more out of the car than Webber.
Webber - 6 - Broke the curse, but had a pretty anonymous weekend.

Button - 9 - Sublime race performance. It always looked like he had something in reserve if needed. If he had gotten pole it would've been a 10.
Hamilton - 7 - Wonderful qualifying lap. However, he seemed to struggle in the race. While we know he uses up the tires faster than Button, it was surprising that even in the early laps, he wasn't able to keep pace.

Alonso - 9 - That Ferrari probably had no right to be 5th. He managed to haul subpar machinery up to respectability. Might be the best driver in F1 at the moment. Everyone talks about Massa's accident being the cause of his struggles, but is it possible that Massa appears to be struggling so much because ever since he returned, he's had to be compared to Alonso?
Massa - 2 - Horror weekend.

Schumacher - 8 - Seemed very comfortable with the car. Apparently his gearbox started going a few laps before he actually retired. I wonder what he could have done with a completely healthy car.
Rosberg - 4 - Couldn't keep pace with Schumacher at the beginning and threw away points at the end.

Räikkonen - 7 - Bad qualifying, good race.
Grosjean - 7 - Great qualifying, unfortunate race.

Di Resta - 6 - Shamelessly emerged from the confusion of the last lap to get that last point after a poor qualifying. A true Nick Heidfeld-like race performance.
Hülkenberg - 7 - Qualified well, but couldn't really do anything about the first lap incident.

Kobayashi - 7 - Good pace and controlled aggression while racing with a damaged car. However, he probably should have qualified better. His Q1 time was 0.4 seconds faster than his Q2 time!
Perez - 8 - His huge first corner gains set the tone for a very positive race. He was completely out of tires by the end, but to be able to nurse them for as long as he did was remarkable.

Ricciardo - 7 - After getting up into Q3, he seemed to struggle in the race and bummed around in the lower midfield before managing to snatch two points at the end.
Vergne - 6 - On pace for the last point, but lost it on the last lap.

Maldonado - 7 - Barn stormer in qualifying. Scintillating race performance. Pitches it into the wall on the last lap in an odd place. His consolation prize is getting the Spirit of Jean Alesi Award.
Senna - 4 - Nowhere compared to his teammate.

Kovalainen - 6 - Much less impressive against Petrov than he was against Trulli.
Petrov - 6 - Seemed to have decent race pace and was running in front of his teammate before he retired.

Glock - 7 - Probably flattered the car just a little bit.
Pic - 6 - Default rating.

Vettel-7.5/10 Had a nice race, but what happened in qualifying?
Webber-7/10-Nice drive after getting caught up early

Button-9/10-Almost perfect race, how he pulled away from so quickly after that restart I've no idea.
Lew Ham-6.5/10-Even though I'm a fan of his,I honestly felt he could have done a lot more in that McLaren

Alonso-9.5/10-Even as an Alonso hater,I admit this is one of his best races of all time.
Massa-1/10-Terrible.Absolutely terrible. You know better than that!

Schumi-8/10-I must admit, until running wide and suffering the gearbox failure,he was not bad at all.
Rosberg-6,5/10-Had a suffering car,but made some moves against Kobayashi, which I was slightly impressed by.

Iceman-7/10-The Iceman is(sort of) back with a good race to make up for that qualifying.
GGGGGRRRRSSSSJJJJNNNN-7/10-I honestly think that was very unlucky for him.Great quail shows early promise.

Di Resta-6.5/10-Had an awful race but made a daring move to take a point.
Hulk-Unrated-Couldn't really rate him if you go out on the first lap.

Kobayashi-8.5/10-Great race for Koba, showing extreme talent to pop up with a 6th.
Perez-9/10-Where in the bile monkey hell did he come from to get that position?Credit to his one-stopper.

More reports coming later.

Vettel - 7.5 - Made a mistake and struggled to get past a few cars, but his race pace was good
Webber - 6 - Fairly anonymous racing just like last year, but without the embarrassment of Vettel being so much better

Button - 10 - What's to fault? Great qualifying lap, great start, and we hardly saw him all race.
Hamilton - 7 - Clearly a little bit slower than Button around there, and got reeled in by the Red bulls during the race

Alonso - 7.5 - Doing a good job in a crap car, but loses points for qualifying.
Massa - 3 - Doing a poor job in a crap car, and tussling with Senna on the opening race kind of underlines that his incidents with Hamilton were quite a lot to do with his own
increasing inability to judge distances and fight fairly.

Schumacher - 8 - Did everything right pretty much
Rosberg - 5 - There was a glimmer during qualifying that he was going to dominate all season long. He appeared to have glimpsed that too and has done a big nervous poo ever since. Hope it's shaken him back down to earth because he's not winning anything this year.

Räikkonen - 8 - Crap qualifying but good value during the race, some great moves
Grosjean - 5 - Good qualy but what's the point if you beach it pathetically? Lots to prove

Di Resta - 5 - Hmm
Hülkenberg - 5 - Not really his fault

Kobayashi - 8 - I have no idea how he does it. I watched him mainly being overtaken all race and he ends up 6th!
Perez - 8 - Slowly becoming obvious to me that Perez is a class act

Ricciardo - 7 - Picks up a point for fighting until the end, but pace was meh
Vergne - 6 - Bottled it at the end

Maldonado - 7.5 - A great drive but he's running the risk of being known for bottling good points positions
Senna - 4 - Just pap all around

Kovalainen - 5 - Don't think I saw him all race and then he retired, so you tell me?
Petrov - 5 - Likewise

Glock - 7 - Seemed to be hanging on quite well at the back.
Pic - 4 - How many laps behind? And from a safety car mid race?

To be fair, Pic retired from the race with some oil problem and is only classified because he completed 90% of the race distance. Until then, he was keeping up with Glock fairly well.

Yes, you're right, although I forgot to mention it here, so it's partly my fault. If you already did it with half points this time, don't bother changing it - it's everyone's first time anyway. But please avoid them from next time on!

Mr Marmite Maldonado comes mid table.
Not saying people love or hate him, just some peoples definitions of good race bad race were tested here, interesting result.

Is there going to be a running average across the whole of the season?
