I remember Robert Pires being on the F1 grid when French race was on all the time! Bobby Pires loved scoring against Spuds!
Miserable Thierry (Boutsen) staggers round mostly on ten cylinders (out of 12) with no clutch, low oil pressure, bad brakes and no grip to finish tenth, 3 laps down...

If Sauber gains coverage from having its merchandise selling in Chelsea shops or appearing in a football match and people noticing it, I say that is quite positive for the team. I don't know what were the Chelsea motives though.
By the way, I sure hope that fans from other teams don't start getting beaten by Sauber fans while attending races!
I am a Newcastle fan. This move angers me.
Toon Army! I remember seeing the NUFC Liveried Lister Storm on a documentary by Tyne Tees in 1996. Wonder where it is now?
By the way, For those of you who don't take an interest in the F.A Premier League, Newcastle beat Chelsea 2-0 Last night and the 2nd goal was one of the greatest ever.

I can see a number of parallels with my team Blackburn Rovers (94/95 Premier League Champions may I remind you! ) and a team like Midland. The story goes like this:
Rich businessman/people buy formerly quite successful small team. Rich businessman/people then proceed to take no interest whatsoever in said team. Team is rubbish. That is all.
Don't even get me started on bloody Venkys! Pissed a decent, solid club down the drain! And we'll probably be playing Championship football next season! Gah!

Who is Jordan's Alan Shearer in this scenario?
The Iceman Waiteth What if Kimi Räikkönen hadn't got his chance in 2001?

Haha well I guess, considering he was one of (if not the) best player during their most recent successful period, I guess you could compare him to Frentzen and his efforts during the 1999 season!

Fixed, because I just can't see how Blackburn are gonna avoid relegation. Sorry
The 1994/1995 season was the best. And I'm not even a football fan...

You're probably right to be honest. We were woeful against Spurs and we needed at least a point from that game to stand any chance. I'm not giving up hope until it's official though!
If I may elaborate further on Blackburn's position, I feel Steve Kean is actually a pretty decent manager and just needs time to establish himself at the club. He's had just over a year there now and we've had some pretty good results on occasion, hinting I believe at his and the team's potential. The fact is we've ended up relying on too many has-beens in the team and not signing anyone of any calibre. Yakubu was a great signing, but apart from that, our best player in my opinion has been Junior Hoilett who came through the youth team but has already said he'll leave if we go down. And where has the supposed money from Venkys gone? Salgado has left after they refused to pay his wages, and there's been no money spent in the transfer windows. It's a far cry from even a couple of years ago when Sparky was leading us to European football!

Best season I have clear memories of was 2003/04, challenging for Champions League football for most of the season.. 1994/95 would have been good, simply because a different team won the league, although we were in Division 2 at the time, now known as League 1.

I can't remember a goal scored by Cisse this season that's been nothing short of remarkable. Anyway, I can see Pardew getting manager of the year if Newcastle finish a well-deserved 4th.

His goal against Bolton a few weeks ago was a tap-in. The remarkable part was Shola Ameobi of all people providing the assist
Pardew had manager of the year sewn up months ago. Brendan Rodgers is the only other person even remotely close to challenging him for that title.

I'm really taking this off topic now, but when I worked for a certain state-owned Mail Delivery Service, shortly before I was made redundant I was talking to a manager who supported Liverpool and despised my beloved Newcastle. He gloated at their 'big signing' and concluded the Premiership was theirs for the taking in the 2011/2012 season while Newcastle would more than likely be relegated...
Whenever I see that guy's name, I always think of this guy instead... Football clearly does not interest me!

Douglas Teixeira? You may do well with Ricardo Teixeira too!
It might not be that hard for him to perform better playing football rather than driving racing car.
Given Mike Ashley's penchant for generating money in any way possible, now you've suggested it he may act on it. Wouldn't surprise me if he was signed up a-la Al-Saadi Gaddafi and his Sonangol backing used as the new primary shirt sponsor

Since Chelsea just won the UEFA Campion's League title, does that mean we ill see a Blue and White livery out of Sauber celebrating the occasion in Monaco? Replace the black with blue and the red with Black and presto, new Chelsea livery?

Hopefully with the slogan "GRANDE DI MATTEO" plastered all over the car.
On a related note...GRANDE DI MATTEO!
