KL-racer’s Alternate SUPER GT: 2005 season
KL-racer’s Alternate SUPER GT: 2005 season
Well, it’s me again. Some would wonder why I would start a second series, given that the DTM series was a good success after the problems in its first season. I did fixed all of the kinks out for this series, which involved messing around many things such as car stats and other stuff like cost of upgrades and budgets. So, after many hours of number crunching and testing, here’s what I came up with for my new Alternate series, SUPER GT! And yes, I will be using xkoranate again for this one!
There would be two classes of cars on track at the same time, therefore championship points, prize money and success ballast will be awarded separate for each class.
EDIT: The point system will be the pre- 2003 f1 points system. 10-6-4-3-2-1 due to the fact that the field is smaller for both classes. Success ballast will be changed to .1(X) when x is the number of points the driver has. Unlike my DTM series, success ballast will NOT be removed for the final two rounds of the season. The reason being, that I want to determine if there’s any noticeable difference in race results by keeping the ballast on the cars until the season is over.
The starting budget for GT500 teams is 20 million yen, and the GT300 teams will start with 10 million yen. In terms of the eligible cars for GT500 your choices are the Honda NSX, Nissan 350Z or the Toyota Supra (thanks CaptainGetz12 for that edit!). But for GT300, there is no such list, so you can enter almost anything that is semi-realistic. And yes, each user can enter one team for each class if you insist! But all teams, regardless of class, will be independent from the beginning, so no manfacturer support is allowed!
Drivers:
Each team regardless of class needs any 2 real-life drivers that are NOT in F1, NASCAR or Indy Car. Drivers from Asia get first priority over everyone else because this is indeed an Asia-Based series. So keep that in mind! By the way, no Pay drivers are allowed!
Car stats:
All cars in GT500 will start with +9/+9/+9, the maximum limit is +15
All cars in GT300 will start with +3/+3/+3, the maximum limit is +6
Upgrades:
EDIT: For GT500 3 million yen = 0.5 point, for GT300 1.5 million yen = 0.5 point.
EDIT: Prize money for each class. the first amount is for GT500 and the second amount is for GT300.

Yes, of course you can. You can enter one team for each class, if you want to!
And by the way, the maximum grid size for this series will be 48 cars!
EDIT: it's one car only but shared by two drivers! Just like the real series!

I would like to reserve a spot for this series.
Unfortunately I will be busy for the first half of this week, so my entry wont be ready until the weekend.

TAKAGI RACING ENTERPRISES (as a backstory, the very same team from RoLFS/IFRC used to compete here, although I know this isn't RWRS-canon)

Also, why there's Infineon in the calendar?

Andre Couto was taken earlier by Nippon Nagoya, so you will have to use someone else. I'm sure you can easily find someone else anyway!

I'm sad to see the demise of the DTM series, good memories and good results.
I'll do abit of messing around with teams, and merge my cannon team with my old DTM team to create Equinox-Lamb Racing in both classes!
Equinox-Lamb Racing (GT500)
#10 Honda NSX
Olivier Beretta/Satoshi Motoyama
Equinox-Lamb Racing (GT300)
#11 Subaru Impreza

Wait, how is this a 2005 season, since the Lexus SC430 did not enter Super GT Gt500 class until 2006. 2005 was when toyota still used the Supra.
Also, is the Ferrari 500 GTC allowed in this series in the GT500 class? since it was allowed at the time, and any non-japanese car at the time was considered rejectful (even Mclaren F1 GTRs and Lamborghini Diablos )

Yes, the SC430 wasn't used in 2005 in real life, but the supra was way too old and it stopped production a long time ago! That was the original reason for this Alternate series why I had the Lexus SC430 introduced a year earlier than real life. Good point you bought up, and I knew someone was going to complain about that detail eventually. Guess I will have to change the Lexus entries to the Supra for the first year only!
And in terms of using the Ferrari 550 GTC for GT500 it was indeed allowed at that current time frame, feel free to use it for the LOL'S!

In that case, can you swap my entries around? (So the #19's entered for the GT500).
Thank you.

Takagi is already taken by Denso Pulsar Racing. You would have to look for someone else, sorry about that!

That's f*cked.... Lotterer and Treluyer should cost the same as Duval (3M)

Well, 2M for 'King Hiro' Matsushita is somewhat excessive, especially considering that his much better team mate James Courtney only gets 500K.
Re: KL-racer’s Alternate SUPER GT: 2005 season
5m for 0.1 upgrade point seems too costly since we only have 20m (GT500) or 10m (GT300) as the starting budget (driver salary notwithstanding). Is that a typo?
And there are rumors that two European tracks - Donington and Catalunya are bidding for a SUPER GT European Grand Prix in 2006.

Maybe half a point then for the same cost?

You have the same number twice. But #38 appears to be free at the moment.

A couple of questions for KL Racer;
1) is this series in the same universe as your DTM series or a parallel one?
2) Can I swap Equinox-Lamb racing's gt300 entry to a Honda NSX?

Actually, I'm not really feeling up to the series at the moment. Consider my entries withdrawn.

For #1: I am NOT going to do another DTM season anyways, because of the obvious flaws in it's first season (2000). With that in mind, it's fair game to use T. Schneider and O. Beretta in this one.
For #2, yes, I already did change your GT300 entry to a Honda NSX.
Anyways, I made some more edits. Upgrades will be 3 million = 0.5 point for GT500 and 1.5 million yen = 0.5 point for GT300. Due to the lack of entries in both classes, I decided to change the points system to 10-6-4-3-2-1. Success ballast will remain .1(X), but prize money will be changed to the top 6 finishers for each class. However, the amount of prize money given for both classes will now be different.
Finally, both Grand Honshu Racing entries need a car number.

Re: KL-racer’s Alternate SUPER GT: 2005 season
Yes, it's me again. I just noticed that in the entry list for GT500, there are no teams running the Nissan 350Z! Which is odd indeed.
With that in mind, is it okay for myself to enter a team just for GT500 as well as running the series? Or is it against the rules?
If it's not against the rules, the team name would be Project Kivasports, running the Nissan 350Z, drivers would be Ryo Michigami and Akira Iida. Both drivers would be paid 2.5 million yen. The car number would be 24.
What do you guys think?
