I have to say I was impressed by that. How did you know?
Guess I've just seen him on TV often enough to recognise him...

Bingo.
Tartan on the helmet was a clue. My first thought before I saw the answer was Jackie Stewart (knowing he had tartan as a ring round his helmet) but realised it looked nothing like him, so my next guess would have been Mr McNish (knowing DC and Franchitti had the Saltire instead...).

The photo is from 11 March 2006 during Qualifying at Bahrain International Circuit. Trust me, it is Nick.

Oh, I wasn't doubting it, it's just surprising to see how much Nick's appearance has changed over the years. Though the beard probably helps a lot in that regard...

Enrique Bernoldi. Just a first guess.
My friend's USB drive spoiled, spilled tea on her laptop and had a bird poo in her hand.
What did she do in her past life to deserve this?

No, it's not Coulthard's bff.

From the sheer violence of the impact, I'm tempted to say Luciano Burti.
However, with this being a truck, it could also be Slim Borgudd...

Re: trivia question....
Between former F1 drivers Jan Lammers is usually the Truck guy, but this truck has some Petrobras sponsorship so the driver should be a Brasilian... I will go with Antônio Pizzonia, doing one off in a truck which might explain why the truck is upside down to begin with.

Re: trivia question....
the sheer violence of the impact = Burti
which might explain why the truck is upside down to begin with = Pizzonia
No right answer yet.

Gaston Mazzacane?
I'm pretty sure that livery is from an ABF truck. From what I've found, only five F1 drivers have participated in "Formula Truck"; Chico Serra, Gaston Mazzacane, Cristiano da Matta, Christian Fittipaldi, and Alex Caffi. Of those five drivers, only Mazzacane and Fittipaldi drove for ABF Mercedes. Since Fittipaldi is Brazilian, and the driver in question is former-F1, it has to be Mazzacane.

Nope.
Two clues:
1. He is not a Reject.
2. He never raced in the same decade as Damon Hill.

Re: trivia question....
Mark Webber, I guess. Alan Jones is too old for this picture because somehow I think this picture has been made in Australia, it has been an Auzzie.
Re: trivia question....
Too young for Mark Webber, methinks.
Let's see... Cars in the background look like they came from the early 70s, so he would have raced in the late 70s and/or 80s...
Just taking wild guesses here
James Hunt?
Niki Lauda?
Patrick Depailler?
Nelson Piquet?

The Dutch Bear called it.
It is Mark Webber, age 11. He is pushing Jack Brabham's 1967 Brabham-Repco at the Australian GP in '87.

Re: trivia question....
Since this is the Month of May a question about the Indianapolis 500.
Ever since the beginning there has been a pace car, it was even invented there.
In 1991 the pace car was a pre-production Dodge Viper RT/10, however it was not the car originally intended to be the pace car.
What was the original pace car and why was it replaced?

Because the Dodge Stealth (original pace car) was not built in America

Re: trivia question....
Right, the Dodge Stealth was the original pace car. It is basically a rebadged Mitsubishi GTO/3000 GT and built in Japan.
This to the dismay of UAW, the powerful labour union, and 'traditionalists', because of their pressure the Dodge Stealth was withdrawn.

Presumably this is before the system of 'fastest driver in qualifying is on pole' really caught on, so I'd guess in the pre-war era. Can't be more specific than that though.

Nope, it happened at World Championship event.
I'll give a clue. I did not say they obtained the pole with the slowest time.
