1990 was one of those years where you could look at any side of the grid and have fun. Each chassis were different for the other, 6 engines from V8 to V12. The real deal of F1, without so much politics and gates.

Engines
In this Round you will have to bid for the engines i'll list later in this post.
Each team owner should bid for 3-4 engines in order of preferences. The higher you bid the higher is the chance to take the engine home.
You can send a PM or just write a post here.

1. Engine :

Ford('90 spec)powerfull new engine generation, updates for free, 10m$, 1Team

Renault proven and competative race engine, updates will cost 1m$ per update, 12m$, 2Teams

Ford('89 spec) old but proven engine, not very powerfull, no updates, 3m$, Unlimited amount of Teams

Lamborghini mid-powerfull engine,updates will cost 1.5m$,5m$, 2teams

Judd"engine for the midfielders", 1 Team will recieve free updates, for the other teams 1.5m$ per update, 6m$, 3 Teams

Subaru not that powerfull....,no updates, 1.5m$, 1 Team

So, good luck ;)

Onyx's choices are:

Lamborghini
Judd
Ford '89

In this reality, Van Rossem does not leave the team, at least for few races, so Moneytron is still with us :P Also, the budgets for everyone looks thin by the engine fees. And I don't think Ferrari engine should be made exclusively to Ferrari only (I think Flaschenpost did not make the Ferrari engines exclusive).

I've recognized a series of season which are classics. In the modern era, they are 1990, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2008 and 2012. As for the former, 1990 was a good season because of the close championship battle between Senna and Prost, before it ended spectacularly and prematurely at Suzuka.
The other main reason why 1990 was a classic was because so many teams were competitive. While McLaren and Ferrari battled for the championship, the rest had their moments of glory as well.

Benetton won two races at the end of the year with Piquet and the unfortunate Nannini almost did so at the Hungaroring and especially Hockenheim, with his replacement Moreno also scoring a podium.

Williams also won two races, one each for both drivers. Patrese ended the longest victory drought ever for an F1 driver (6-7 years) at Imola and Boutsen led all the way fighting off many drivers, one at a time in Hungary.

Tyrrell had their new hero Jean Alesi on the podium twice, in Phoenix when he nearly won (again!) and in Monaco. It is disappointing how after Monaco, Alesi scored zero points and slid down the order.

Lola got Suzuki on the podium at his home race and Eric Bernard came fourth at Silverstone. Leyton House ran 1-2 in France and Capelli finished second, also challenging for a podium at Silverstone.

There are two main ingredients for a classic season of F1.

1) A close championship battle between two or three teams
2) Multiple teams battling for podiums and wins

Apologies for interference as I know I am posting this while you are all choosing engines

Benetton hope that their long partnership with Ford will continue, allowing us to snag the 1990 Ford engines. If we can't get those, in order of preference, we'll take: Renault, Honda and Ford 89

Williams has only one engine target, and that is Renault. Considering that we had their engines in 1989 and won 2 Grands Prix, we hope that this shows that we are fully committed to a long-term relationship with Renault. Our bid will sit at $14 million.

FMecha wrote:And I don't think Ferrari engine should be made exclusively to Ferrari only (I think Flaschenpost did not make the Ferrari engines exclusive).

The works Ferrari engines were exclusive to Ferrari, yes, for obvious reasons. There was a customer Ferrari package... which Stramala was able to do some amazing things with.
