What do I need? Do I just bid for teams, engines and drivers or is it more complicated than that? If it's simple, I'll go for EuroBrun for the sheer fun of it. I've never done this before.

Join the club. Eurobrun is the last team because Ataxia got AGS and Fantomette got Osella so you are the last entrant Ralf

The works Ferrari engines were exclusive to Ferrari, yes, for obvious reasons. There was a customer Ferrari package... which Stramala was able to do some amazing things with.

Except that Ford engines were the only customer engines that will be available here, Salamander. Given your choices, BTW, are you expecting Flaschenpost F1 MkII? I expected so, but hopefully I'll learn my own mistakes from that one, firstly by choosing a better team.

Oh, and Onyx's new management is set to be unveiled soon. (There will be a new guy) :P

AGS' Engine Choices:

1) Judd (bid: $7m, and we'd like to ask for the deal with free updates)
2) Lamborghini (we bid $6m)
3) '89-spec Ford (since it's unlimited, we offer the list price of $3m)

Some series do use xkoranate though, albeit without spreadsheets (F1RICS, Warped Touring Car Series, etc). :)

what is xkorante? Forgive my lack of computer knowledge and in these championships but is he just going to create this season on a spreadsheet and mix it up so everyone gets a chance?

A scorinator (result-generating tool) used both here and in the NationStates forums. It was originally used for a sort of sports RPing stuff in the NationStates forums. (I play NationStates, but never got the time to RP) :)

Autosport wrote:AGS bullish over future

Current F1 backmarker team Automobiles Gonfaronnaises Sportives, known as AGS, has made clear its desire to move away from the back of the grid in the next few years. The little French team have recently installed Rennes-born Jacques Couteau as the team's manager, and the Frenchman has made no secret of his desire to make the team the top one in France.

"We've got a tiny, but hard-working operation here. What we need to do is make smart decisions with the resources we have, and we mustn't be wasteful or silly with the money we spend. Key to the future is getting a good engine deal; we've bid for Judds but we know that to develop we need to come into some kind of works deal in the future. Our target is to get as close as possible to Ligier to ensure that France is well represented in top-level motorsports. 1990 will be a year where we lay the foundations for everything, and to develop the infrastructure needed to make the team a success."

No word has been given yet on the driver front, however it is expected that the team will seek to partner an experienced, technically informed driver with a young and hungry racer, possibly with some financial incentives.

Hey,
it's good to see that there is so much attention payed to this series.
Im planing to run the game as far as we could get, so i think there will be defenitly a 1991 season and a 1992 season, all teams will take there money into the next season and there will be prize money for the Constructors Championship(Top 10). Next season hopefully a sort of sponsoring system will be introduced so you will stick your budget together on your own :).
Currently i'm working on the driver list. For now there are 38 Drivers in, but i'll need a few more. If anyone have ideas for driver please post or PM.

If you have the Ford(89 spec) pn top of your list you will definitly get this engine because they can supplie an unlimited amount of teams!
Same for Brabham, they have it in 2nd position, so if the dont get the Renault engine they will stick to this engine.

The only team which needs to bid for engines is Osella. If they have done it we will go on.

Should we just name the engines or put bids? Cause some people (including me after an edit to my post) put some offers to engine suppliers, and other just give a list of engines.
