Round 15: Suzuka
Race
Alesi was leading into the first corner with Piquet in 2nd and Prost in 3rd. $th came senna 5th Modena and 6th a bad started Nakajima. Alesi and Piquet both pushed very hard and managed to open a gap to Prost and Senna. In lap 36 Alesi and Piquet had to lap Patrese. Piquet tried to overtake both towards the last chicane but collided with Patrese. Both had to retire. Now Alesi had a 35 second gap to Prost and Senna. A few laps later Alesi started to lap slower and in lap 45 he had to retire because of an Engine failure. If he had made the disdance he would have been the new Champion! Now Senna and Prost battled even harder but with only 3 laps to go it came to an end because Prost's engine gave up too. Both Honda engines blew up at there home race, what a shame. Re: F1 Alternativ: season 1990
A silent race for us but double podium finish which that put Arrows in top 4. Still we are seeking our first victory, but things look good for our team. Especially when race winner Ayrton Senna will be sitting in our cockpit next year
To finish first, first you have to finish!
Re: F1 Alternativ: season 1990
Season final: Preview
We are very close to the end of the season. The next race at Adelaide will be the last one in 1990 and it will decide the Championship.
Let's take a quick look on the championship contenders:
Nelson Piquet
The 3 times world champion Piquet is the contender with the most experience. Although he is 2 points behind Senna and Alesi he has a very good chance to claim his 4th championship. The Ferrari is a very reliable car that has a good pace especially at twisty circuits. A handicap for him might be his teammate Nakajima. Although Nakajima would support him without any doubt it isn't quite shure if he has the pace to do so.
Ayrton Senna
Senna already won a title in 1988 and knows what he has to do but he has to big handicaps: his car and his teammate. The Benneton isn't really the best car on the grid. Even Senna, who is one of the best qualifyers in F1, wasn't able to score a single pole position this season and the engine is outdated. Only when it comes to reliability the Benneton is on top. His temmate Nannini didn't score a single point since Monaco, so he might not be a great help for him. Although he has a few handicaps when it comes to rain at Adelaide i would give my tips on Senna.
Jean Alesi
The rookie drove a unbelievable season with Mclaren. If he hadn't had his chrash at Monza and the injurie he would already be world champion. He has two big advantages over the other two contenders: His car and his teammate. The Mclaren was the fastest car during the whole season(13 out of 15 pole positions). You only have to worry about the reliability, because at Suzuka both Mclarens had an engine failure. Alesi's teammate prost will could support him very well, although it isn't shure if he will do so. If Prost will support Alesi i'm quite shure that Alesi can do it although he is very unexperienced!

Some nice points for Larrousse is always good. Hopefully we can fend off Brabham in Adelaide.

#2 Driver Mark Blundell - 2 years
Test Driver - Joachim Winkelhock 1 year
I'm American (with some German decent on my moms side admittedly, although I'm mostly Italian) the German is just a character I created to play BMW in Pi's alternative 1979 season. I'll start work on a British one for here lol.

Round 16: Adelaide
Race
The final race of the season! At the start Piquet was leading in front of Prost and Alesi. Prost supported his teammate Alesi and made pressure on Piquet until lap 15. Than he let Alesi pass and Alesi made pressure. This caused that Piquet had to pit a bit earlier. Meanwhile Häkkinen drove a fantastic race setting one fastest lap after the other. He managed to pass all 3 during the pitstop. With the Häkkinen in first, Piquet in 2nd and Alesi in 3rd, Alesi was champion on countback. He stayed within a few seconds with Piquet in oder to be able to attak at any time. The race went on and nothing really changed at the top end of the grid. Congratulation to Jean Ales, the new world champion!

Re: F1 Alternativ: season 1990
Congratulations to Mika Hakkinen and Arrows, for gaining their first victory since 1978 (for Arrows, for Mika it is his first season)! We are a front runner, and with Ayrton's arrival we have everything to challenge the championship in 1991.
To finish first, first you have to finish!

Re: F1 Alternativ: season 1990
God I did really well in my first alternative season and just a Victory away from a title. 2nd in both titles. good-ralf you need to keep my work up. In Takagi's game I'm trying to prove I can win with other teams.
Should we do a ROTY podium for this?

Re: F1 Alternativ: season 1990
Considering we had arguably the worst engine, I'm very happy to see our lead driver finish just 4 points off the Drivers title, and to be just 7 points off 2nd in the Constructors. Sure as hell hope the '91 chassis is as good as it's predecessor....
TORA! TORA! TORA!
