Murphy dumping it into the wall at Reid Park

Probably the incident that changed the course of the race, and gave Murph an easy ROTR award for such an uncharacteristic driver error.

Curiously, NASCAR used to have that problem in the eighties and nineties and maybe the lower crash totals of V8 Supercars races might be why the structural deficiency still exists.

coincidentally, the nascars in the 80's were of similar rule-spec to the v8 supers of today.... at least they're recycling hahahaha

The V8s were kept structurally in the 1980s safety wise while NASCAR was in the 1980s technology wise for the engines back when they had carburetors.

Davison set to be Slade's replacement at Erebus next year.

Well done Ford Australia. Look what you've done.

The situation with Ford must be pretty dire if Davison would rather take the challenge of getting half-decent results out of the Erebus crapboxes than stay with FPR. :|

As an aside, how long is Frosty's FPR contract?

Not sure if Davison is really gullible or Erebus is just dangling a big bag of money at him

Championship-changing stuff right here. JDub's caused a red flag, and has subsequently lost his fastest lap and can take no further part in qualifying.

That has got to be the worst 10 minutes of Roland Dane's entire motorsport career. #1's stopped on track and #888 has a puncture. The championship's just been blown wide open again

Why do we need three races? What was wrong with the current format that's worked for all eternity? Oh, right, Warburton needs to make the most of the shite TV deal he got.

Not really a news item, but at various events throughout the year, CAMS runs Young Officials programs at various V8 Supercar events, which aim to train young people between 16 and 25 in the running and officiating of said events for two years. Guess who just got accepted into the program for the season finale at Sydney?

No, it's obviously MinardiFan :P

Anyway, practice has just finished for the day, and Davison has absolutely obliterated the lap record. Alex Davison, that is.

That was a big hit for JC and Premat though. Looks like both will be out for the weekend :|

Percat to fill in for Courtney at Sydney. Should be interesting to see what he can do given a full weekend.

Meanwhile, all is not well down in the midfield.
