Alright, in addition to Jenson Button's ban we got two injuries: Robert Kubica and Michael Schumacher are out for the US races. pycku has 30 hours from now to decide on a replacement, otherwise I'll just reuse Max Chilton.

If not too late, I nominate Daniel Melrose. Alternatively, Milos Pavlovic.

I'm pretty sure Herr Malros has a clash with the F1RWRS that weekend, otherwise he'd be making his 76th return for Mercedes in an instant.

Alexandre-Laurent Voeckler is interested in filling the seat for now. He was on course to win the previous race until Button mercilessly kamikazed into him.

If I remember properly, Pavlovic had to replace a departing Shinobu Katayama for Stefan for the rest of the season.

Damn, then I will bring Nikola Nikolov out of retirement (or whenever he is in 2012) to drive for Brabham (unless the race is run and Chilton has taken his place).

And he still might out perform Milos. Unfortunately, it's the chassis that has been a dog when compared to the previous two seasons.

Race Control Addendum: The driver of car #26 (Johnny Cecotto, Jr.) was found to have caused an avoidable accident involving car #4 (Robert Wickens): he has been sentenced to a ten-second penalty.

-- Positives --
Sebastian Vettel - he really needed to win and did just that.

Takuma Sato - could not conquer Vettel, but had a great race nontheless.

Rubens Barrichello - apparentely wants to impress whilst his team mate is nursing his injuries.

Nico Rosberg - kept up with the big boys and gets INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE for that.

Jean-Éric Vergne - it took a penalty, but the Frenchman did manage to score on his debut.

-- Negatives --
Evgeny Restov - while P8 in itself is not bad, but his performance really was not impressive.

Johnny Cecotto, Jr. - lost valueable points due to a penalty.

Romain Grosjean - his team mate is a star alright, but there is little justification for him going to town on Grosjean's bottocks like he did.

Lewis Hamilton - apparentely he is concerned with making the championship exciting, otherwise he wouldn't grab REJECT OF THE RACE and ruin his own race.

Li Qi - unimpressive debut by the DTM driver and former Formula Three Euroseries vice-champion.

Race Control Addendum: The driver of car #19 (Takuma Sato) was found to have been released unsafely in the pitlane: his team (Canon WilliamsF1 Honda) have been sentenced to a fine of €5,000,000.

-- Positives --
James James Davies - getting a second place after such a long time without success feels great.

Vitantonio Liuzzi - good run by the Italian, he may just keep his career alive with this.

Jean-Éric Vergne - the Frenchman wrote his application for a 2013 drive today, INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Romain Grosjean - great job after yesterday's failure.

Vitaly Petrov - did just enough to grab the final point.

-- Negatives --
Evgeny Restov - the Russian really can't handle the United States.

Robert Wickens - wanted to prove his team wrong, but could not do so.

Williams-Honda - their unsafe release of Sato got them REJECT OF THE RACE and was the hilarious highlight of a day full of failure.

Li Qi - with drives like these, he won't have anyone but himself to blame for his F1 career being ludicrously short.

Fernando Alonso - the old Ferrari management must be pleased as their decision to sack Alonso last year got some justification with today's drive.

Race Control Addendum: The driver of car #5 (Jenson Button) was found to have caused an avoidable accident involving car #7 (Sebastian Vettel): his team (Red Bull Racing Honda) have been excluded from the race results.
Race Control Addendum: The driver of car #19 (Takuma Sato) was found to have caused an avoidable accident involving car #1 (Robert Kubica): he has been sentenced to a Grand Prix weekend ban.

-- Positives --
Romain Grosjean - scoring a win (if at the expense of Red Bull) in that Renault is an INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Marussia-Renault - this double podium might just secure them P12 in the WCC.

Takuma Sato - spun and got banned, but made the most of today's mess.

Brabham-Hyundai - double points finish is lovely.

Jenson Button - while his job was in fact against the rules, he did it perfectly.

-- Negatives --
Red Bull-Honda - do they think the stewards are retarded? REJECT OF THE RACE.

McLaren-Honda - while Vettel was not at fault for being pushed off the track, his lame comeback was his fault - and Liuzzi sucked as well.

Nathan McKane - you can only suck so hard without getting on this side of the list.

Fernando Alonso - now he is the underdog in the Renault battle, that was unexpected.

Alexandre Voeckler - spun out after doing such a good job in qualifying.

1. Hamilton
2. Grosjean
3. Bean
4. Cecotto
5. Sato
6, Maldonado
7. Restov
8. Schumacher
9. Barrichello
10. Valsecchi

And KQ remained weak again. :|

-- Positives --
Jarno Trulli - good drive for the Italian, who showed his skills again.

Vitantonio Liuzzi - came so close to winning after not making Q3.

Davide Valsecchi - gets INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE for almost securing an Italian 1-2-3.

James James Davies - another valueable bunch of points for Lola-Renault.

Nathan McKane - got as good a result as you can get with this Ferrari.

-- Negatives --
Marussia-Renault - after their heroics in race one, they were expecting more.

Nico Rosberg - lost valueable points in the final laps.

Championship Contenders - both were ridiculously bad today and get REJECT OF THE RACE for that.

Paulo Serafim - when your team mate gets IIDOTR, you look stupid if you don't grab points.

Avon Tyres - looked kind of bad when they caused cars to retire before the spinning began.

And the likes of the Stefan GP cars might be more a hazard due to lack of pace most of the time. Vitaly has dragged it to some strong finishes, but those finishes occurred in races with nearly as much attrition as the 1992 Indy 500 where he ran like Al Unser. Al at that time was far into the back of his career and to be honest was merely managing a Menard Buick (fragile engine prone to grenading) to the finish.

Race Control Addendum: The driver of car #4 (Alexandre Voeckler) was found to have caused an avoidable accident involving car #18 (Jarno Trulli): his team (Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro) have been sentenced to a fine of €2,000,000.
Race Control Addendum: The driver of car #8 (Vitantonio Liuzzi) was found to have caused an avoidable accident involving car #19 (Esteban Guerreri): he has been sentenced to a suspended Grand Prix weekend ban.
Race Control Addendum: The driver of car #25 (Nicolas Fontana) was found to have caused an avoidable accident involving car #26 (Johnny Cecotto, Jr.): his team (Lola Cars F1 Renault) have been sentenced to a fine of €2,000,000.

-- Positives --
Jenson Button - neat number of points for Button who must be fighting for a 2013 seat.

Pastor Maldonado - needed to make an impact badly and did just that.

Rubens Barrichello - continues his streak of points finishes and gets INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE due to a lack of competition.

James James Davies - can be happy with the bundle of points he got today.

Evgeny Restov - looked decent before his transmission called it a day.

-- Negatives --
Sebastian Vettel - while he technically extended his championship lead, he's added yet another mistake to his seemingly never-ending collection.

Mercedes - their pace seems completely gone, they must be praying for the mid-season test.

Vitantonio Liuzzi - screwed up badly, yet did it so anonymously nobody noticed: REJECT OF THE RACE material indeed.

Michael Schumacher - today, he did not look like the same guy who has beaten Barrichello into a bloody pulp at Ferrari a decade ago.

Williams-Honda - even if it is not your fault, if both of your drivers retire in accidents, you are not going to be a positive.

2012 Telefónica Grande Premio de España II - Race
Image

-- Positives --
Pastor Maldonado - if yesterday was being liked by Sauber, they must love this one.

Lewis Hamilton - managed to get past Barrichello to get an edge on his championship rival.

Brabham-Hyundai - double points for the team looking to get in the final spot of the WCC top five.

Nathan McKane - healthy dose of points to stay in touch with P3 in the WDC.

Vitaly Petrov - a point for Stefan means INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE these days; that's terrible.

-- Negatives --
Jarno Trulli - not even remotely as quick as his team wants him to be.

Vitantonio Liuzzi - this time he did not made a mistake, he was just slow.

Marussia-Renault - after their heroics in recent weeks they cannot possibly be content with how things developed today.

Nicolás Fontana - whatever you want to call what he today did, "racing" is hardly a proper term for it.

Esteban Guerreri - if you needlessly throw away your first pole in the first few metres of the race you are getting REJECT OF THE RACE.

Mid-Season Test II

Post by Klon »

It's September 14 and the F1 teams are already at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the final mid-season tests.

Basically all you have to do is decide how much money you wish to invest in testing new parts: you can choose to buy a five-percent chance at improving your car for €3,000,000, up to sixty percent, i.e. €36,000,000.

A successful upgrade will then involve a RNG roll to see whether it results in minor improvement (increases max grip for both race and qualifying by 50), medium improvement (increases max grip for both race and qualifying by 100) or an extreme improvement (increases max grip for both race and qualifying by 200).

You can choose to run different drivers than your normal drivers at the test if you wish, they will not cost anything nor pay anything nor will they influence your upgrades in any way. There are two things that should be pointed out: for the teams that decided to put their developments forward, spending more than €24,000,000 is pointless. Furthermore, each team needs a bit less than €300,000,000 at the end of the season to ensure survival, so invest carefully.

Just fill this out and we are ready to go.
Team: Well, duh
Investment: Please only use prices rounded up to the full million

Alright, the teams that have not announced their testing plans will invest €0, unless they announce their testing plans until 11 p.m., February 11.
