The F1Rejects.com 500.

Post by FA1L »

Would anyone be interested in this?

Basically, it would be a race featuring each and every driver we have on the main site. The race will be run with Live For Speed, because it´s the only racing game I own. LFS only allows 20-car grids, so we´ll have qualifying etc. using excel spreadsheets, to decide who´ll get into the race.

You have to vote about two things: The car and the track.

Options for car:
1. BF1 (BMW Sauber F1 2006)
2. Formula V8 (A GP2-styled car)
3. FXR (F3)

Options for track: (Will be kyoto ring, but which configuration)
1. Oval
2. National
3. GP Long

You have until thursday to vote.

Well, seeing as I ran two PMMF season with LFS I think I should give my input here. :) Since it's only a single race, injuries/penalties (which are very likely to happen with the hapless LFS AI) are not an issue, so my car vote goes to the BMW Sauber F1.06. As for the track, I'd say the GP Long configuration is the best for this purpose.

Also, the other GP configuration is usually called "National". ;)

You can still vote for 5 hours, but I've held a test session, with the BF1, in the oval. Somehow I removed the lap times

10. Perry McCarthy
11. Mikko Kozarowizky
12. Danny Ongais
13. Antonio Pizzonia
14. Slim Bordugg
15. Rikky Von Opel
16. Jonathan Williams
17. Torsten Palm
18. Jean Max

33. Giovanna Amati
34. Tarso Marques
35. Pascal Fabre
36. Allen Berg
37. Raul Boesel
38. Al Pease
39. Jacques Villeneuve
40. Fabrizio Barbazza
41. Yannick Dalmas
42. Clemente Biondetti

Oh, and blame me for putting HWNSNBM into this.

For some reason I thought you meant every driver in the PMMF...I was thinking "Wow, that's gonna be a HUGE undertaking", but obviously I was mistaken haha.

But still, looking forward to seeing how this turns out!

I vote the FV8 and GP Long (one of my favourite LFS tracks)

2 hours left to vote, but I´ll now present... The qualifying format!

In LFS the AI is... well, pretty rejectful (at one time a half of the cars didn´t score a lap time  ).

So, you name your top 10 Rejects, and the votes would be counted... like this:

USER A:
1. HWNSNBM
2. Perry McCarthy
3. Patrick Friesacher
4. Patrick Gaillard
etc...

USER B:
1. Slim Bordugg
2. Raul Boesel
3. HWNSNBM
4. Patrick Gaillard
etc...

Then, the votes are count together, like this:
HWNSNBM 4 (1+3=4)
Perry McCarthy 2 (1+0=2)
Patrick Friesacher 3 (3+0=3)
Patrick Gaillard 8 (4+4=8)
Slim Bordugg 1 (0+1=1)
Raul Boesel 2 (0+2=2)

...the driver that is featured in most of the lists is first on the grid, and so on...if there is many drivers that are featured in the same number of lists, the driver with the smallest number is first in the grid, and so on...

If there are 2 or more drivers with a same number, their grid positions will be decided by random.org.

I'm starting a F1 Rejects Celebrity Challenge with LFS if anyone is interested. Mike Robers has already signed up Taylor Swift for this series, so hurry along now!

Current Grid;

1. Luca Badoer
2. Perry McCarthy
3. Giovanna Amati
4. Patrick Friesacher
5. Taki Inoue
6. Claudio Langes
7. Esteban Tuero
8. Lella Lombardi
9. Jean-Denis Deletraz
10. Desire Wilson
11. Stephane Sarrazin
12. Eppie Wietzes
13. Eric van de Poele
14. Tarso Marques
15. Al Pease
16. Oscar Laurrauri
17. Jan Magnussen
18. Toranosuke Takagi
19. Giovanni Lavaggi
20. Gaston Mazzacane

Also, the race will be held in the GP Long circuit, but in which car? The BF1 and the FV8 have the exact same number of votes!

1-50: BF1
51-100: FV8

And the number is... 83!

The Formula V8 will be our car.

The race will be 500 miles, and the track is 4.6 miles... 4.6*109=501.4. It´s the nearest we can get to 500 miles, so the race will be 109 laps.
