FELIPE MASSA

Raw Pace - 8.0
He can be very fast when in the right frame of mind. In the past this would be every 4th or 5th race but now he is on it almost all of the time.

Strategic Ability - 6.5
Give him a strategy that involves him starting from pole and he can win, otherwise he isn't as comfortable. His wet weather driving also removes the ability to risk an early switch to dry tires on a drying track.

Personal Reliability - 5.0
I was surprised when Ferrari signed him as he was chronically unreliable then. He has improved in recent years but he is still hopeless in the rain.

Entertainment Value - 8.0
Not too much fun off the track but on it there is usually something going on. Whether he is on a charge or spinning constantly there is usually a good reason to keep an eye on Massa during a GP.

Personal Sympathy - 7.0
Loses points for driving for Ferrari, therefore ruling out any chance of being supported by me. However Brazil '08 alone gets him a 7.

Raw pace: 9.0 - Has always been a fantastic qualifier even in those early erratic Sauber days... but even now this raw pace he finds in quali seems to die down in the race.
Strategic ability: 5.5 - This may seem quite harsh but I have never found him very good at this, he always seems dependant on Rob Smedley to get him out of trouble in the race... without him I do feel he would struggle!
Personal reliability: 7.5 - Matured alot since his sauber days.... he can get the car home now without spinning off!... though he still lacks confidence at some places and always needed mental support, shall be intresting to see how he copes without schuy this year!
Entertaining value: 2.5 - Im sorry but I never liked the guy.... his most used word is "for-sure" annoys me and he always seems to have something to moan about... while showing a bit of arrogence from time to time... kinda reminds me of Montoya in some ways....
Personal simpathy: 4.5 - Well I know he has been through alot with that horendous accident and no one deserves that! But on his past antics... I don't really care about what happens!

So much for unneccesary 80es-references, let's go on with...

*** MARK WEBBER ***

Raw Pace - 8.5
While his reputation as a Qualifying specialist has been severely damaged last year, he still is extremely fast over a single lap

Strategic Ability - 6.0
Just like everyone else, if his position and his strategy is well, he can succeed...

Personal Reliability - 8.0
Well, there is no way to call him not reliable and loyal after forcing himself into the car with food poising, driving with vomit in your helmet and still taking up a top position...

Entertainment Value - 9.0
"Kids with not enough experience, doing a good job, then they bathplug it all up" - hehe, says it all really

Personal Sympathy - 8.5
He is indeed very charismatic and far more interesting than his oh-so-great team mate. I like him and really don't mind watching him succeed.

Raw Pace - 8.5 - His overall speed puts him, in my opinion, in what I dub the Rubens/Jenson club; very fast, but lacks that last little edge to make him a true champion. Though I would say he's faster than Rubens or Jenson.

Strategic Ability - 6.0 - Not much to say here, really

Personal Reliability - 8.0 - Webber is the anti-Raikkonen - he might not be the fastest, but you can be damn sure he gives his all.

Entertainment Value - 10.0 - The 2009 German GP; 'nuff said. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, willing Webber on

Personal Sympathy - 10.0 - See above, Webber's second only to Kubica on my favourite drivers list.

Raw Pace - 8.0 - Has always given his all, used to be a quali specialist, but he's still not the first person who springs to mind when the turn "raw pace" is used.

Strategic Ability - 7.0 - To win the German GP after a drive-thru penalty must require at least some strategy. Managed to leapfrog people a few times last year as well, most noticeably Vettel at Turkey.

Personal Reliability - 7.5 - It's his car's reliability that is the problem generally. Prone to the occasional duff race, when he's having a tough time setting the car up and starts to feel sorry for himself.

Entertainment Value - 9.5 - Definitely entertaining for his Aussie attitude and willpower.

Personal Sympathy - 10.0 - Had some rough times, but 2 of the most satisfying moments I have seen in the whole of my life watching F1 have been Webber's points of his debut, and his win at the German GP last year.

Raw Pace - 8.5 Very good pace, espechally on 1 laps... though Vettel has un-done his reputation a bit =/

Strategic Ability - 5 He makes alot of gains with strategy thanks to help from his crew.... but he then tries the same strategies at other races where it doesnt work... Hungary 2009 comes to mind... so 50/50

Personal Reliability - 6 Well he is dedicated! I'll give him that, driving while suffering from food poisioning takes some doing! But that is where most of his score comes from... I can't help but feel that his driving style has been the reason for alot of his bad luck and thats why his score isn't any higher!

Entertainment Value - 9.0 "Kids with not enough experience, doing a good job, then they f*ck it all up".... stuff like that will always go down as legendary.... however he does have a habit at moaning at pointless things aswell... so can't give him the full 10

Personal Sympathy - 8 On the whole he is a good guy who i've loved to watch race, and listen to what he has to say! Him breaking his leg had let him down for 2009.... but after all the problem's he has had... one can only hope his luck finally changes :)

Mark Webber

Raw Pace - 8.0 One of the quicker drivers of the last few years, especially in qualifying.

Strategic - 6.0 I find him generally unremarkable in this regard.

Personal Reliablility - 7.0 Horribly unlucky at times, but I do feel he's one of the more consistent drivers about.

Entertainment Value - 6.5 I don't too often listen to what drivers say outside the cockpit, and inside the cockpit he generally gives a solid rather than spectacular performance.

Personal Sympathy - 7.5 He scored points for Minardi (always a plus) and I generally like to see him do well.

MARK WEBBER

Raw Pace - 8.0
Most definetely quick. The only question is can he sustain the speed over a season to win titles?

Strategic Ability - 5.5
I can't think of a Webber masterstroke in strategy to be honest. I've seen a few errors though.

Personal Reliability - 6.5
He is brave, but reliable? He always seems to find a car's weakness and break it somehow. If not that then he seems to get himself in trouble with the stewards or anything that could possibly ruin his race.

Entertainment Value - 9.0
In the car he is a decent battler who can be entertaining at times. Out of the car he is a great character to have around.

Personal Sympathy - 9.5
One of my favourite drivers on the grid. Plus you have to sympathise with a guy who has had just about all the bad luck possible since his arrival in F1. 2009 could and possibly should have been his year but it was almost over before it began with that leg-break.

Okay, here we go. Jaguar's gonna keep on hunting:

*** CHRISTIAN KLIEN ***

Raw Pace - 5.0
While he managed to outqualify David Coulthard in 2005, he most certainly wasn't one of the fastest stars on the F1 sky

Strategic Ability - 5.0
Well, I guess ... did someone notice anything regarding that

Personal Reliability - 6.0
He was not that bad and didn't had accidents all too often and if he gets multiple years at works teams, he must have some skill in terms of developement

Entertainment Value - 1.0
... *a cricket chirps* ...

Personal Sympathy - 5.0

CHRISTIAN KLIEN

Raw Pace - 5.5
He was never quick driver compared to most of the grid, but he could hold his own in qualifying.

Strategic Ability - 5.0
Same as Klon, I have no idea what his ability is in this area

Personal Reliability - 7.5
He was well liked at Jaguar/Red Bull for his ability to keep the car on the road and regularly bring it home in a decent position. Sadly his 2006 season wasn't as successful as previous years and I've knocked him down a little for this.

Entertainment Value - 4.5
Modern F1 driver really isn't he. A quiet guy with little in the way of character, sadly his driving was very similar.

Personal Sympathy - 6.0
I think he deserves another shot at F1, but there are a bunch of drivers who deserve it more. I think it's a shame people like klien wern't/aren't in contention for a race seat this season.

No need to type this myself, I agree. As for the entertainment vaule: I give him a 4, simply for losing the 250.000$ diamond that Jaguar stuck on his car's nose in Monaco.

Now that we have this borefest outta the way, the next one is bound to be interes... Oh, Bathplug!:

*** CHRISTIANO DA MATTA ***

Raw Pace - 4.5
Got himself dramaticly outqualifed by the late Olivier Panis and with a few amazing flashlighs as exception, never brought out more of the Toyota then possible.

Strategic Ability - 6.5
This part is where he, on the other hand, got the upper hand on Panis

Personal Reliability - 6.0
He really wasn't that bad in this regard, in 2003 he was the more reliable Toyota driver

Entertainment Value - 5.5
He woke attention with Silverstone and the attack on Schumacher in 2003 Brazil, but did not redefine the word entertainment

Personal Sympathy - 6.0
Hmm, somehow I liked his style a bit, it's good that he came back to motorsport after that horrific accident in 2006

Raw Pace - 4.0
Well Klein is bottom of the list at the moment, and Da Matta was slower than him.

Strategic Ability - 7.0
Not bad, because he didn't have the pace, but still managed to pick up some points.

Personal Reliability - 5.5
You could always rely on him to be thoroughly unspectacular.

Entertainment Value - 2.0
I thought Zonta was bad enough.

Personal Sympathy - 6.0
Maybe his story would have been different if he drove for a team other than Toyota.

You didn't seem to get the reference.

Anyway, get back to da Matta.

To be honest, I actually did get Montoya's response wrong. That's what happen if you quote from memory... but you're right, let's get back to Da Matta... (I never thought I would say that)

And there I was, thinking it was just a bad pun related to what ended da Matta's Champ Car career...

Three times, if you also include the "oh dear" connotation as well...

Raw pace-6.0
Pace wasn't too bad but not alot quicker than a past his prime Panis

Strategic ability-4.0
He drove for Toyota, enough said

Personal reliability-4.5
More realiable than Panis in 2003 but alot less in 2004 which lead to him getting the sack.

Entertaining value-4.0
My only memory is of him leading at Silverstone

Personal sympathy-3.0
Never really bothered about him.

CRISTIANO DA MATTA

Raw Pace - 4.5
He never showed any real pace beyond the bare minimum needed to look respectable in F1

Strategic Ability - 7.0
I seem to remember him making up a lot of positions up during pit stop windows. Presumably this is how he out-scored Panis in 2003.

Personal Reliability - 6.5
He didn't retire often but his retirements were usually spins or crashes.

Entertainment Value - 5.0
Modern .... Formula 1 ...... driver

Personal Sympathy - 3.0
I didn't mind the guy when he was in F1 and I thought they were perhaps quick to get rid of him. However that respect disapeared when he did a Piquet Jr upon leaving claiming that F1 was not competitive enough and that he didn't want to race in the series.
