'tis I, the Frenchiest fry!

Hello all, and apologies for my unexplained, prolonged absences. I'd like to just confirm a few things for PORE's 2018 entry:

Driver 1: David Neuberg (what did you expect;)
Driver 2: Quentin Reatherson (pending Ataxia's approval)
Engine: Great Wall
Tyres: Michelin (Free)

We would also like to scrap our chassis, I do believe that will generate 280 credits. We would like to invest in a Tier 8 chassis

Yep, that's all good. I'll update the spotters' guide tonight with that info.

Nathanael Cameron and Barri Mori were denied a chance to test after the commission refused them licences so that regular drivers Fredo Mestolio and Daniel Melville were forced to do the test instead. Mori was upset saying "I get to the track try to enter the driver pre-briefing and I get told "Your names not on the list, you're not coming in", I showed them the schedule with my name on it and they still refuse even though they know who I am. After going to the stewards and the c omission representatives it was deemed that me and Nathanael lacked licences and could not test today. I am waiting for a phone call to find out if this can be fixed.". The commission has stated that the two drivers will be allowed to test after all, but has not said when this will happen.

We have the race pace but in terms of qualifying, that might need to be improved to get out of pre-qualifying.

I just wanted to post to clarify and remind new teams (and all the others, really) about a couple of rules;

1. Tyres -- Teams that bought Premium tyres can switch back and forth to Standard tyres as desired. Only one change between race weekends is allowed; with one extra change allowed in Pre-Season.

2. Mechanical Sympathy -- You can decide how much you want to extract from your car. There're five levels; default level being 4. Level 5 means you get more power but reliability decreases. And levels 3 and below produce the contrary effect. Only one change between race weekends allowed.

After being asked about this; Mechanical sympathy Power levels are being released:

So every level features power increments of 10 bhp. So level 5 is +10 bhp, level 3 -10, and so on.
Also, have in mind that rel penalty is higher in Level 5 relative to the other levels, and Level 1 rel features a higher gain than the other Levels.

With the debut of our AR 3.5 team in association with RUF Automobile, we have decided to change the name of our entry into the Auto Rejects World Series (ARWS) to RUF Blokkmonsta Grand Prix Team in order to avoid confusion between the two teams. Our AR 3.5 entry will remain unchanged. We filed a request to change the name to ARWS's administrative body and are pending approval.

In terms of Blokkmonsta's press release on public testing, we will be doing a complete summary of both public testing sessions after both have been run. The last public testing day will be done February 4th.

Autosport wrote:Jones Delighted With Testing Pace

"This one's for the doubters" an emphatic Sammy Jones told reporters yesterday evening upon the conclusion of the second ARWS test at Estoril which saw Mark Dagnall top the race simulation timesheets for the National Jones Ford Team.

Despite concerns over the team's Ford engines coming into pre-season testing and their apparent lack of power, the Jones cars' performance in race trim appears to be right up at the sharp end of the field, prompting team boss Jones to hit out at paddock members and journalists who expected the team to struggle.

"I have every confidence that my team will deliver the goods once again this season." said Jones last night. "We have a fantastic, well-balanced package that more than compensates for the perceived deficiencies in our Ford engine. There's more to come, of that I'm 100% sure, but for now we're looking good."

Hawkin pleased with testing results

Jones' protege Terry Hawkin was himself pleased with his own testing results having finished top in the qualifying simulation times and second in the race simulations. The young rookie has had success at every level in the lower classes and look set to add further triumphs in ARWS to his impressive CV. The Briton told reporters after the test in Estoril,

"I'm really happy, the Fusion car is a superb machine this season. A lot of people hammered the team last year but they've played a blinder and we've got a great car now to work with. It would be a dream for me to make the podium at some point this season in my debut year and by the looks of things that may well happen. It would be great to get one over on Sammy's cars as well! Hopefully he won't be too angry!"

BlokmonstaRacing.de wrote:Blokkmonsta Public Test Summary and Pre-Season Private Test Schedule

Blokkmonsta's first foray into the ARWS showed promise and potential for the newly formed team. "We already have great qualifying pace, but we still have much to develop on the car." Andrea Schnass spoke in a press conference at Estroril.

Pre-Season Testing began at the Circuito de Jerez on January 27. For the qualifying simulation Wouter Lamberigts thrived, placing the car within the top 20. Nicholas Steele placed 32nd, which in an actual race would allow the cars to participate. The race simulation had both cars finish, but both drivers placed in the 30's, Lamberigts falling far down the grid to finish 37th.

"We have qualifying pace, but race pace could use some improvement." Schnass said in an interview after the weekend. "Our main concern for the year is to regularly escape pre-qualifying, and I feel that we are already well on our way to reach that goal."

A couple weeks later the teams gathered at the Autodromo de Estoril for the second weekend of testing. Steele did much better by placing 21st within qualifying, while Lamberigts impressed with an 11th place start, less than a tenth of a second behind the Titan Mark Dagnall in a Jones. The race again proved difficult, with Lamberigts finishing 33rd and Steele retiring from the race from suspension failure.

"After last season with Autodynamics, I know getting a team started in this league is no easy task." Steele said after the race simulation. "My driving could use a bit more fine-tuning, which after going through the Race of Rejects is something I know I can't afford to keep doing."

Blokkmonsta will start private testing at the Nurburgring for the weekend of February 16th over the course of three days. "We encourage other teams to come by to test with us." Spoke Andrea Schnass at the end of the Estoril press conference "Especially to Nurimen, since they are willing to allow their drivers to race for us in lower formulas we would gladly let them test along with us. I'll even bring my signature Thüringer for the occasion!"

Testing schedule for February 16th to 18th can be found below.

Here is Blokkmonsta's testing schedule for February 16th to 18th at the Nurburgring GP circuit:

Day 1- Downforce - Wouter Lamberigts and Nicholas Steele
Day 2- Downforce - Nicholas Steele
Day 3- Reliability - Nicholas Steele

Speedcafe wrote:Melrose: "We're not Favourites for Title"

With pre-season testing underway for the upcoming AutoReject World Race Series season, MRT team owner Daniel Melrose made a shocking and frank admission that his squad may not hold the ascendancy in the title race for 2018. "We knew heading into this year we'd have some strong competition from Jones and Voeckler, so we never considered ourselves odds-on favourites for the championship this year", admitted the Australian. "We also knew Fusion were going to be a potent force this year, and with Terry (Hawkin) at the wheel, they'll be a real handful as well."

When asked about what could be expected from the team this season, the former ARWS race winner was quick to clarify his position. "Can we win a title? I believe we can. Will it be easy for us? No, it won't. Of course, we'd like to be holding the trophies come Macau, but we'd have a lot of stiff competition to face before we can entertain those thoughts. Of course, anything less than race wins this year would be a disappointment, as we believe the package is more than strong enough to compete on any given weekend."

With the first ARWS race being in Adelaide next month, it's expected that MRT along with several other teams will take the opportunity to conduct private tests before the trip down under for the first two rounds of the season.

AutoAction wrote:ARWS Wrap: Peak Aeroracing in Crisis

With the official pre-season ARWS tests complete, there were many key talking points to come out of them heading into the first two races in Adelaide and Bathurst. By far the biggest one however is the ever-evoling saga of the Peak Aeroracing team. Since the team shock administration late in the off-season and had to be saved in a last-minute buyout by the Peak Racing organisation in January, things have gone from bad to worse for the Kiwi-Spanish squad. Having lost both their star young drivers in Alexey Buyvolov and Akira Yamamura, the Aeroracing car has also proven to be both alarmingly slow and unreliable in pre-season testing. Couple that with the reportedly down-on-power Audi and it's shaping up to be a very difficult year for the former race-winning squad.

While it is still early days and testing is note necessarily the best marker for early pace, the signs all point to a tough initiation to the sport for the Peak Racing group in 2018.

Attention everyone!

Adelaide will happen sometime along 12th or 13th September. It'd be nice if all forum users that bother to read this (this includes non team owners too) told me their preferred time for races and I'll try to stick with it whenever possible. This can be anytime along the week, although it's best for me to do the races on weekends, so, from Friday evening to Sunday evening, please tell me what time would work best for you (you all know I live in Spain, so state the time in CET, please; if you don't know the time difference here's a nice world time calculator: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html )

Thanks for your help as always!

I would prefer Friday or Saturday evening, around 8 or 9pm CET.

Also, I can confirm that whenever I am present for a live broadcast, I will also be broadcasting live commentary.

Any time in the evenings is good for me, weekdays or weekends.

Would fancy getting involved with the commentary potentially if possible, though I have no idea how to go about it. Skype I'm guessing?

Since I'm both an ocean and a continent away a convenient time for me would be 5-6 PM London Time.

I probably won't be able to make the races live anyway because school starts for me soon, so my vote should probably hold less weight.

I have a very basic broadcasting software which allows free voice broadcasts one hour at a time. I believe co-commentary over Skype would simply have too many delays, but alternating commantating duties could be possible, yes.

The co-commentator could have the stream that the lead commentator is on open, and vice versa, but again that might produce delays. Might be worth a try, though.

No that's all fine, I have no clue when it comes to web broadcasts and the like, I've only ever made 1 or 2 Skype calls in my life, I just fancied seeing what I could do as a commentator!

But thinking about it in more detail, I'd need kit which I don't have (not even a headset) so realistically I doubt its possible. If there are races that Tommy can't do and by some miracle I am able to fill in then I'd be happy to do so. Otherwise I shall defer to the guy with the greater knowledge on the subject. Carry on!

Revolution Pre-Season Press Release wrote:
One final effort

Revolution Engineering is looking towards its final season with the possibility of grabbing one of the top three positions in the pre-qualifying cup. The reasoning behind Revolution leaving is the team owner Hagane Shizuka's focus on music production, already reaping results around the world.

"We are having a lot of hope in especially Bizzarri", Shizuka said. "He is really capable of pushing the car high on the grid and we are excited to work with him as good as possible."

When asked about the amount of points, the team owner only smirked, but after asking again, he said "Maybe one or two. We're going in with nothing to lose. Maybe this final season is the going to be the swansong."

"Revolution will always have free waffles at our motorhome" said Shizuka in the final comment, "Because we are not rivalizing with others. We just want to have fun. If our drivers can be promoted to better teams - and I believe it can happen -, we're going to retire in a mission well done mood."

Sorry I was out for a while. Had some deadlines with music production fell on me, both got pushed ahead by a sizable margin and I had to focus on that. This was thankfully a one-time thing, so I'm not going to be AWOL.

SRMP wrote:Nurminen: Second season looks promising

Nurminen Grand Prix team principal Niko Nurminen has stated that he's very excited about the prospects of his team heading for their second season in ARWS (previously known as F1RWRS). "We have a brand new car - our first ever in-house design - and it has proven to be a very effective piece of machinery in the pre-season tests. Last year our goal was to qualify regularly and maybe score a point or two, and both of these goals were fulfilled. Now our target is to score points more regularly, preferrably with both cars. As McFry is continuing with us for another year and Jantscher, who showed great consistency in AR 3.5, coming in for his first proper chance in the series, I'm expecting no less."

"Our financial situation is also different. Since F3RWRS went bust and was reorganised as FIA Formula 3, we found ourselves having two junior teams at practically the same level while holding absolutely no interest in the FIA structure. So we sold what was our former F3RWRS equipment and concentrated our resources on the ARWS and AR 2.0 teams. This, combined with increased sponsor income due to our good results last year, has allowed us to regain more control over our team from FSK, who at one point owned almost half of our shares.
