Unpopular F1 opinions
There's a similar thread on a music forum that I'm on whereby people are free to state their unpopular/uncommon opinions (and then get flamed for them). I'll make a start with some of mine:
Martin Brundle was more impressive than teammate Michael Schumacher in 1992, he was just unlucky.
Max Mosley was good for the sport.
Jean Alesi was right not to go to Williams, he may have won more races, but he would never have had the chance to show he could lead the team.
Gianmaria Bruni was more impressive than HWNSNBM at Minardi.

Re: Unpopular F1 opinions
Jenson Button is an unworthy world champion.
Jacques V made epic career choices.
Lewis Hamilton is the next Ayrton Senna.
Fernando Alonso is a crybaby wannabe.
Nelson Piquet was better than Hamilton, he simply got fingered by Renault.
Nothing says 'poetic justice' more than 'Crashgate'.
The JPM/KR duo at McLaren was brilliant for PR.
JPM was without doubt the fittest driver the sport has ever seen.
Fisi also got fingered by Flav.
Bernie Ecclestone is, has been, and will be the best thing that ever happened to F1.
Top this, guys!

Misses Minardi dearly.

Re: Unpopular F1 opinions
Fangio sucked.
Senna sucked as well.
Schumacher was the father of all suckers.
Not bad eh?

Nobody cares that Ratzenberger was also killed at Imola '94
Most F1 drivers have no personality
Alonso is a spoilt brat more suited to the English football Premiership
Williams F1 are on their way out

If Toyota had better drivers they could have won some races.
Scott Speed would have done better if he was in a better car.
Michael Andretti would have done better if he had more seat time in the car.

Uh, listen...
Well, anyway:
Massa isn't that good.
Neither is Vettel, really.
Along with Button, they're the F1's second rank.

Flavio Briatore is the worst thing to happen to F1 since San Marino '94.

False.
Americans don't know USF1 even existed.

StefanF1 has no credibility whatsoever; they shouldn't be allowed anywhere near an F1 race unless they pay for tickets.

HWNSNBM is thy teacher, and I can only hope to be almost as good as him one day.

Boo.
Please don'e get a bad impression of me, shinji; but what I wrote is my lukewarm opinion on StefanGP. My real opinion has no place in a family-friendly forum. I hope they make it in the future and have lots of success, but at this stage... nah!

Re: Unpopular F1 opinions
Senna was the human impersonation of God (which is still lower than HWNSNBM).
Didier Pironi crashed intentionally against Alain Prost at Germany in 1982.
So did Schumacher in Great Britain 1999.
Eddie Irvine stole that missing wheel at the European GP the same year.
Luca Badoer prays every night to not score points in F1.

F1 drivers dont use the phrases "doing a good job" or "for sure" anywhere near enough.

Guesstimate is a word
James Allen was right, Strategy is what makes F1 races interesting.
James Allen is a Legend
Murray walker was boring as hell
Jonathan Palmer was VERY interesting
Schumacher won 7 world championships, Ross Brawn was just part of the team that got him there.

I am better than HWNSNBM.
Infact, I am better than all the HWNSNBMs in every possible dimension combined - and then doubled.
And then doubled again.
And subsequently multiplied by infinity to the power of infinity.

I think this thread was doomed since the moment it was uttered.

Yeah, either people are lying or they're all crazy (probably both).
I may as well go down this route:
Colin Chapman was not an innovator, he was a cheating scumbag.
Nelson Piquet Snr deserved to win more than 3 world titles.
The medals system is still a good idea for the sport.
Ice road truckers are more talented than F1 drivers.
Lewis Hamilton is the most likeable driver in living memory.
Ron Dennis makes perfect sense if you listen to him hard enough.

Re: Unpopular F1 opinions
The BBC F1 2009 intro didn't get tedious halfway though the season, it did not need a first-half season montage once the drums kicked in, hope they keep if for 2010. Its the music that let it down.

Kimi Raikkonen is a witty, clever guy who has way more personality than any five drivers currently in F1 put together.
Single-lap qualifying was actually pretty fun to watch (especially for those who follow backmarkers).
Monaco has no business being on the F1 calendar (although it's hardly the first that should be cut).
