Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - 2015 Brazil

Post by Shizuka »

based on the assumption that, at any moment in time, there is a non-zero probability that even the slowest, most inexperienced and least reliable of underdogs might win the race. That under every rock, there might be a gold nugget. This is the award for that first podium that we all celebrate, for the overtake no-one was expecting, for Ericsson's first win. This is the award, in short, for the driver or team that makes you go "Woah! Where did THAT come from?!".

Just remember: this is a feel-good award, that will focus on nothing but track action.
Usual rules: everyone gets two votes. First vote is worth 10 points, the second 6.

Post your results until November 21

1. Verstappen - Although surprises are somewhat expected of him at this point, which poses a dilemma. Still decided to vote for Max anyway.
2. Hulkenberg - Again, expected of him given this is Interlagos, but again, bathplug it :P

1. Nico Hülkenberg: He really is an Interlagos specialist! Great performance after several races where he was overshadowed by Pérez.
2. (shared, 2 points for each): Max Verstappen: Impressive overtakes.
Romain Grosjean: Good recovery from a low grid position (which was admittedly his own fault).
Pastor Maldonado: Also nice racing apart from that one classic Crashtor moment.

1. Hülkenberg
2. Drivers in general (to have so incident-free race, although that was partly what made the race boring)

1. That shot of Alonso which became a meme / The meme itself - the first thing I saw on Saturday afternoon when I walked into my living room was Alonso on that deckchair, and I almost spat out my tea. Poor Fernando.
2. Jos Verstappen's son: Max Verstappen - I've been pretty sceptical of the guy, but he was damn good out there today. Carry on, JosMax.

1. Pastor Maldonado
2. Nico Hülkenberg
HM. Max Verstappen - made one litigious overtake and multiple DRS-aided ones that weren't very impressive, but it's more than I can say for most other drivers...

Nico Hulkenberg - Great drive at his favorite track
Valtteri Bottas - For his great start (and because no-one else did anything noticeable all race)
Alexander Wurz is timeless and endless and eternal.

1. Hulkenburg: Not much of a surprise given that he's good at Interlagos. But it was a good run for him after a few lackluster races.

2. Grojean: Another points result for Lotus.

No-one really performed especially well which makes this one a bit harder than normal, that said:

1) Nico Hulkenberg: Best of the rest after Mercedes, Ferrari and Bottas while teammate didn´t get into points.

2) Roman Grosjean: 4 points with midfield car when starting 14th is quite good result in my eyes, espesially since most guys had problem free races.

Based on Saturday's antics only

1 - Button
2 - Alonso

Good psychological warfare from Button too, making sure he got the top spot on the podium ;)

1. Whichever spectator/marshal handed Alonso a deck-chair.
2. Alonso, for perfect execution of deck chair usage.

1. McLaren, for getting two cars across the finish line under their own steam.
2. Alonso, because of the deckchair thing.
