New Rules and Rule Changes

Driver-Related Rules

*There are no longer requirements for a Silver/Bronze Ranked driver in a Independent Entry, instead the restriction is no Platinum Ranked drivers in any Independent Entries.
Alongside no Platinum drivers, Part-Time entries cannot have Gold/Gold driver pairings.

*Independent cars with one Gold Ranked Driver in their driver pair will receive Five Kilos of Ballast, and Fifteen Kilos of Ballast for two Gold Ranked drivers in the same car.

*Driver Role (Driver changes) System changes:
Driver Role changes only affect their count for the season if they aren't pre-planned.
They must be announced before the first round of the season if they are not to count.
The amount of Driver Role changes for each car has been increased from three to four.

Team-Related Rules

*Alongside the standard one-car and two-car option for full time teams, a user can run two separate one-car teams. They don't have to use the same car, but the teams cannot be from the same ownership group.

*Two separate one-car teams can be designated as Factory Trophy entries, instead of forcing the designated team to run two cars.

*The car allotment system has been changed, moving from Capping the number of Teams to Physical Numbers of cars that are available.
This will be the system used to figure out full-time entry lists and part-time entries if they want to confirm their plans before the season starts.
It is a multi-step System so that everything can be fleshed out in a orderly manner.

Here are the steps:

1 - Factory Teams are Allotted, they will be allotted either by me giving the teams the cars, or RNGd out depending on the Manufacture involved.
2 - Independent Teams from last year that wish to stay with their current car count or move down to one full-time car from two, or users that want to run two separate one car teams that use the same car.
3 - Independent Teams from last year moving from one car to two or using a new car altogether and Users wishing to directly transfer car(s) they control to another user, then each team confirm their plans.
4 - Part-Time Teams from the year prior that want to go full time, regardless if it's with the same car they had last year or not.
Part-Time teams are guaranteed the option to use the car they had last year, regardless on its availability.
5 - Users on the Reserve List who didn't enter through Step 4 or on a Step 3 transfer can enter.
6 - Users not on the Reserve list, or users already with one full-time car who want to enter a separate one-car team full time. Everyone else, essentially.

*When you enter through the Allotment system, a part of the entry will be include choosing your tire brand of choice. The reason for this is that Tire Brands now affect car performance.
Teams must use their designated tire company for the duration of the season; you made the choice, you gotta stick to your guns.
Brand availability will be different depending on the car.
There are 6 compounds available: Soft, Medium, Hard, Intermediate, Wet, Monsoon Wet.
Each of the different compounds will have different grip values for each company to represent each brands strengths and weaknesses

Tire companies offer two tiers of tires - Factory and Customer.
Factory teams will get grip bonuses to two compounds, these compounds are pre-chosen by the Tire companies the first time they enter the series or when this system begins.

Criteria to be Factory Team:
Michelin: All Manufacture Trophy teams that run Michelin Tires will be designated as a Factory Michelin team.
Pirelli: One team will be designated as the Factory team, Preferably a Manufacture Trophy team, and/or running an Italian Car. (RNG result)
Dunlop: One Independents Trophy team will be designated as the factory team. (RNG Result) Up to two teams will be designated as Factory Teams
First must be Manufacture Trophy team before second team is added.

Falken: Team Falken Tire Only

All the RNG dependent Factory Tire stuff will happen after the Car Allotment system has been completed.

Miscellaneous Rules

*Fly-Away Guest entries won't be returning for 2018 and beyond.

*The Race Weekend Format will be Changing:
Pre-Qualifying becomes just a 30 Minute Qualification session, with no Independents Trophy points being awarded.

There will now be two practice sessions, both at sixty minutes of length.
One will take place Friday after Pre-Qualifying like before, the other Saturday before Qualifying.

*The Chrysler Viper GTS-R will be removed from Homolgation List, with the Aston Martin DBR9 and Corvette C6.R being added to the Homologation List. The Full Homolgation List will be as follows:

Aston Martin DBR9
Chevrolet Corvette C5-R
Chevrolet Corvette C6.R
Ferrari 550 Maranello
Ferrari 575 GTC
Lister Storm
Pagani Zonda GR
Maserati MC12 GT1
Saleeen S7-R
Lamborghini Murciealago R-GT

Cars no longer Homologated:

Chrysler Viper GTS-R
Porsche 911 GT2

*At the end of the day, I am the one running this series.
Think of it this way; I am the Dungeon Master of this particular D&D campaign, and the DM, "serves as author, director, and referee."
If you want to do something that might be outside the norm or outside previous rulings or precedents, go through me first and the request might be given the go-ahead.

Car Allotment System - Step 1 (Factory Teams)

Post by RealRacingRoots »

Link to the Car Allotment Data can be found here, the link also includes how many for each individual car is available.

So, here we go; step one of the Car Allotment System. Step One works a bit differently than the rest because Factory Team Status isn't first come first served, it's awarded (or RNGd) out to teams depending on their track record inside or outside of the series or on other factors. There are six manufactures with factory teams this year, so here's the run-down. (In Alphabetical Order for the Manufacture)

Aston Martin will have two separate one-car entries represent them in the Manufacture's Trophy. They had already confirmed at the end of last season they will be working with Gulf Racing. After their debut performance in the Super GP in front of Aston Martin brass, Baasch Auto Sport have been awarded the second Factory AM car. Baasch has partnered with the Sumitomo Rubber Industries, and will run under the guise of AMR Team Falken Tire which will see specialized Falken rubber be made available for Aston Martin road cars in the future.

MinardiFan, please confirm your plans for Gulf Racing AMR.

Team Name (Nationality): AMR Team Falken Tire (German)
Car (Factory Status): Aston Martin DBR9 (Factory Team)
Tires: Falken
Car 007 Drivers: John Magnus (American) - Olivia Gieszler (German)

Chevrolet initially announced working with Union Saver Developments on their new Corvette C6.R at the Super GP, but due to USD being revoked of their entry due to partaking in the Kyalami 9 Hour event (in a Viper for some reason) a new team will be taking their place. Carson Speedshop, a Detroit-based high-performance engine manufacture focused on producing NASCAR and Drag Racing engines exclusively for GM Applications, will launch an official racing division in partnership with Pratt and Miller called Carson Spedworks, they are new factory Chevy team.

Team Name (Nationality): Carson Speedworks (American)
Car (Factory Status): Chevrolet Corvette C6.R (Factory Team)
Tires: Michelin
Car 63 Drivers: Joey Alliot (American) - Jacques Malenfant (French)
Car 64 Drivers: Li Qi (Chinese) - Oliver Jones (American)

Ferrari were more than happy to continue their partnership with Scuderia Vittore after their success last year and already had all the paperwork filled out on their side to continue that partnership into 2018. However, Scuderia Vittore never did file an entry for 2018 even with the support they had from Ferrari leaving them without a team to represent them. Under short notice, BMS Scuderia Italia was called up to be the factory Ferrari team in the medium term with the expectation to continue Vittore's success.

(I cannot have someone who didn't play by the rules of the game get a free second chance via the Free Agency, regardless of the Circumstances.)

Team Name (Nationality): BMS Scuderia Italia (Italian)
Car (Factory Status): Ferrari 550 Maranello (Factory Team)
Tires: Pirelli (Will apply to be factory Pirelli team)
Car 27 Drivers: TBA-TBA
Car 28 Drivers: TBA-TBA

Lamborghini will continue their support of Racing Team Solvalou unopposed.

Team Name (Nationality): Racing Team Solvalou (Italian)
Car (Factory Status): Lamborghini Murciealago R-GT (Factory Team)
Tires: Michelin
Car 02 Drivers: Chris Winter (American) - Einar Ármannsson (Icelandic)
Car 03 Drivers: Morgan Le Fay (English) - Antonio Fazio (Italian)

Lister are more than happy to continue the partnership with the Gerald Pereria-Pan Asia Alliance with the new-found success they had throughout the 2017 season in the Storm GT.

WaffleCat, please confirm your plans for Gerald Pereria-Pan Asia Alliance.

Pagani have elected to retake control of their GT Super Series program from Rosenforth Engineering with Rosenforth electing to focus on their upcoming AutoReject World Series program instead. The program will be run in-house with Pagani test-drivers, who already have racing experience in Europe, piloting the two Zonda GRs. The program will be run with R&D in mind as Pagani continues to work on ways to improve the materials and aerodynamics of their road cars, and will use this program to help develop and test concepts.

Team Name (Nationality): Pagani Automobili S.p.A. (Italian)
Car (Factory Status): Pagani Zonda GR (Factory Team)
Tires: Pirelli (Will apply to be factory Pirelli team)
Car 24 Drivers: Amato Agostini (Italian) - Felix Horvath (Austrian)
Car 25 Drivers: Anton Robishaud (Canadian) - Giulio Mari (Italian)

So, for MinardiFan, WaffleCat, and everyone else entering through Step 2 and beyond, here is the entry form and what Tires are Available for each car. MinardiFan and WaffleCat have until November 6th, 2016 at 1200 hrs. pst to post their plans. If not they will be RNGd off to prospective teams.

We've been over this a thousand times.

No.

This is not acceptable. For a series to be part of canon, it must be fair, open and transparent. Revoking an individual's entry for actions outwith the series in question is against the spirit of the game. Extremely nasty behaviour, and completely unacceptable for someone who wants to run a canon series.

Karl Lichter Shultz wasn't a happy man this morning. Following Union Saver Developments celebration for 2-times GTR WDC's Ricardo Llosa and Jordan McKenna, the Austrian squad was notified by the GT-Super Series authorities that they won't be taking place on the 2018 campaign for what the government body implies as a 'penalty'.
"We have been discussing this since Union Saver Developments' run in the Kyalami 9 Hours, and we still claim that we didn't broke any rules for the (former) GTR series. This whole issue is just an excuse for the government body to ban Union Saver Developments from competing, and in the process, making sure that world champions Llosa and McKenna can't defend their titles. This is a joke!"

Asked about the GT-S head honchos giving the Chevrolet operation to a NASCAR and Drag racing private team was the last straw in Shultz's patience. "Not only the GT Super Series revoked our licence, but gave all the work that USD had done on the new Corvette C6R to people that only know how to turn left and/or running a quarter mile?! This is preposterous! A complete lack of respect for Union Saver Developments, General Motors, Chevrolet and the grand touring motorsport comunity in general!"

Completely disgusted from all this affair, Shultz left the conference room with a single announcement: "Unless the GT Super Series apologise to Union Saver Developments for what is a complete insult for our whole team, and changes this 3rd world dictator attitude they have, we will not return, in any form, to this championship."

I agree with this sentiment. This is against the spirit of the canon here by axing a team based on the player's personal preferences.

Gerald Pereria-Pan Asia Alliance will re-enter as a factory team for Lister, announcing former IFRC and SRL driver Paul Travesen into their lineup to replace the departing Owen Carvill. However, they request just one simple thing: That the GTSS board and Chevorlet, at the very least, issue a formal apology to Union Saver Developments. They gave us a good fight ever since the GTSS (then GTR-WC) started, so to see them unceremoniously dumped from factory status is what both Gerald Pereria and Dimitri Aya feel as an insult to us team owners.

Re: 2018 GT Super Series - Car Allotment Step 1 Completed

Post by RealRacingRoots »

With MinardiFan confirming his entry with Gulf Racing AMR, we are nearly ready to move onto Step 2 for the Car Allotment System. This will happen in the coming days, but first we got some housekeeping to go over.

*None of the factory teams elected to take Dunlops and apply to be their factory team, so their factory team requirements will be changing. It'll be one team only, and anyone entering Full-Time from Step 2 and beyond will be eligible for the RNG as long as they apply for it and run Dunlops. As a reminder, you can still apply to be the factory Pirelli team as the factory team RNGs will be done after the Car Allotment System has run its course and before we move onto the Pre-Season Test in Bahrain.

*Now, regarding the participation of SeedStriker's team Union Saver Developments and its lost status as the factory Chevy team. We have had a formal discussion pertaining to the how and the why of this teams dismissal, and properly clarified the reasons why the events relating to the Kyalami 9 Hour occurred. Regardless of if the event was properly passed by me and cleared by me to use GT1 cars, which it wasn't with Axel running the class of cars behind my back after I asked him to do otherwise to promote a greater variety of cars available to everyone, USD's status as the factory Chevy team was in trouble. The reasoning for this was while they were the factory Chevrolet team, SeedStriker chose to intentionally run a car which directly opposes that partnership, the Chrysler Viper GTS-R, even if the C5-R wasn't available for some reason. (You'd think it would be, since the mods used was a mix of the vanilla GTR2 GT content plus the World SGT Aston Martin DBR9) It is a conflict of interest that shouldn't go unpunished leaving USD to lose their factory status, regardless of if they were to lose their entry or not, which they did. However, due to the time-frame involved going back to when the ordeal began when the directive was treated as a "bluff", and the lack of awareness from the parties involved and understanding of the motives behind the directive and loss of their factory status, SeedStriker has been granted a one time re-entry into the series via Step 2 of the Car Allotment System. He has elected to defer his entry to 2019. It does not have to be with Union Saver Developments.

*As it was eluded to at the end of the 2017 thread, I wanted to change how things were run going forward. One of the main things was to have the real positions of power in the series (the factory teams) not taken, but rather given or earned to/by perspective users. Now this must happen over the span of multiple seasons to show the commitment by the team to the series, their commitment to success, and to a certain OEM if they are dead set on a potential factory operation in the future. Before that can really take hold, there had to be transition time so that perspective teams can have goals to work towards. Autonomous/NPC teams had to be put in place because of that, to keep some semblance of stability within the core team base and in case of users come and go from the Forum during the span of their teams participation. If you want to participate at all, no one is stopping you as long as you play by the rules of the game whatever they may be, depending on the series.

*If you ever have questions, don't refrain from asking; instead of leaving it way too late in the time-span of events, or only saying something when something doesn't go your way after it could've been resolved in a sensible manner by all parties involved when it was still a relevant topic.

*And, oh yeah, it's 2018. So please keep that in mind when you make your driver pairings. Take into account clashes that exist with the International Procar Series the Prototype Challenge and other series depending on the drivers you wish to have involved. Even as the IPC ended prematurely before all its races were run, clashes relating to their entire season must be respected.

Re: 2018 GT Super Series - Car Allotment Step 1 Completed

Post by RealRacingRoots »

For those who were keeping track of the actual team entries that happened in Step 1 of the Car Allotment System, there were a quartet of TBA drivers at BMS Scuderia Italia. Well, that was there for a reason because they are hiring! Never had plans for drivers for them compared to Carson Speedworks, so for everyone it's time to get involved in one way before you get to enter your own cars via Step 2 and beyond.

So here's the deal: there are four contracts available in this instance, two for each car. First driver qualifies and starts the race while the second will do a potion of the running of the race, either just a third or two thirds depending on how they do after the first stop. These contracts are rolling one year contracts, where as there will always be a option for renewal for the next year. These options will be taken up by the team if the drivers exceed the expectations laid out by them at the start of the year. If one of the goals isn't met, depending on the severity, some of the options will not be taken up opening up that spot for someone new the next season. This will be RNGd out at the end of the year, deciding how many options won't be renewed and for which drivers. Who gets the four contracts will also be RNGd out after a deadline has passed, with the weighting of it depending on requirements set by the team.

With the boring stuff out of the way, here are the details:

Team + Basic Information: BMS Scuderia Italia, Factory Ferrari team running the 550 Maranello
Expectations (In order of priority): Top Three in the Manufactures Championship, Top Five in the Teams Championship
Driver Prerequisites: Driver should have success at or near the highest levels of motorsports (GTs, Protos, Open Wheelers, etc) and be below the age of 45. (Gold ranked or better based on the series's driver ratings. Silvers will be considered if they have a good enough CV. If you don't know what your driver's ranking is, just ask) Where the driver is from doesn't weigh heavily in the decisions, but Italians are always welcomed to take up a few seats if they are skilled enough. The drivers don't have to bring in their own sponsorship money.

Simple enough right? So here's the application for entering drivers. There is no limit for how many drivers a user can apply with, but do take into account DEC series limits before you enter more than a couple drivers, and that it is 2018 and not 2019.

Application Form:

Driver Name (Nationality):
Age:
Personal Sponsors (If Any):
Previous Experience:

Car Allotment System Step 2

Post by RealRacingRoots »

Link to the Car Allotment Data can be found here, the link also includes how many for each individual car is available.

While the Hiring spree for BMS Scuderia Italia will be going on (also go to town for that one guys) it's time to start Step 2 of the Car Allotment System. This is when you lot can start to enter your own teams for the season proper. Step 2 is for users where their involvement in the series won't be changing, or scaling back a bit depending on if they ran two cars in 2017. Users who are directly changing the team running the operation, but still using the same cars they had last year can enter here as well, as well as running two separate one-car operations that use the same car you had last year. Here are the Teams and Users that can enter Via Step 2:

(In order of Car Number from 2017)

Scuderia Belgio - This - One Ferrari 550 Maranello (Entered via Step 2)
Best In The World Motorsports - Klon - Two Lamborghini Murciealago R-GTs (Entered via Step 2)
ICE-3 Racing - Rated - Two Ferrari 575 GTCs
Onyx Racing - Onyx Wrecked - One Saleen S7-R
Mattias Kejellerup Racing - Pi3141 - Two Saleen S7-Rs
Equpie Fantomette by Euromotor International - Fantomette_BR - Two Lister Storm GTs
JLD Motorsport - Wizzie - Two Saleen S7-Rs (Entered via Step 2)
Minarae - Aerond - One Ferrari 550 Maranello
Globex Scorpio Racing - Salamander - One Lister Storm GT (Will enter via Step 3)
Chris Short Racing - RDD - One Ferrari 575 GTC (Will enter via Step 3)

Everyone listed above has until November 13th, 2016 at 1200 hours pst to post their plans if they are to enter via this portion of the entry process. If you want to make this go by quicker, say you plan to do something else instead of prolonging this process out longer than it needs to go. Below is the entry form and the tires that are available for each car. I will post the livery templates in the coming days, if you need me or someone else to make the livery say so in your entry.

Entry Form
Team Name (Nationality):
Car (Factory Status):
Tires: (Please say if you are a Pirelli/Dunlop runner and you want to apply to be their factory team)
Car X Drivers: TBA/TBA
Car Y Drivers: TBA/TBA

Tire Availability
Aston Martin DBR9 - Dunlop, Falken, Michelin, Pirelli
Chevrolet Corvette C6.R - Dunlop, Michelin, Pirelli
Chevrolet Corvette C5.R - Dunlop, Michelin, Pirelli
Ferrari 550 Maranello - Dunlop, Michelin, Pirelli

Am I correct in thinking that if I want to replace my ancient Ferrari, I will have to wait until step 3 to officially enter?

Entry Form
Team Name (Nationality): Scuderio Belgio
Car (Factory Status): Ferrari 550 Maranello (non-works)
Tires: Michelin
Car 21 Drivers: Judd McAllister - TBA
Livery Idea: Yellow, with Telenet (Belgium) as main sponsor and Ferrari Belgium and Kumpen (construction) as minor sponsors.

Not much changes here. We have the DEC of this driver, and he's clearly not good enough for open seaters, the other one will be announced later, but if the works Ferrari team has drivers to spare like usual, this would work out fine for us. Scuderia Belgio furthermore will operate as an independent team from RonDen now and will permanently move to Winterslag, Genk.
I don't know what i want and i want it now!

Car Allotment Step 3

Post by RealRacingRoots »

Link to the Car Allotment Data can be found here, the link also includes how many for each individual car is available.

Step 2 of the Car Allotment system's deadline will be extended to match the end of Step 3, and the deadline for drivers wanting to have a go in the BMS Scuderia Italia factory Ferraris will be pushed back to the conclusion of the final step of the Car Allotment System, so at the same time as applications to become the factory Pirelli and Dunlop teams are due.

It's time for Step 3 for the Car Allotment System nevertheless. This is for full-time teams from 2017 who didn't enter through Step 2 because they want to change cars (run either one or two od the new car) or move to a two car operation while still using their 2017 car. At the same time, those of you who ran full-time in 2017 can also directly transfer the rights to whatever cars you ran in 2017 (or one of the two if you ran two cars) to another user. If a 2017 team transfers both of their old cars to another team they can still enter via Step 3 with other vehicles. Here's the list of teams that can enter through Step 3 (or 2 if that's what they intend to do):

ICE-3 Racing - Rated - Two Ferrari 575 GTCs
Onyx Racing - Onyx Wrecked - One Saleen S7-R
Mattias Kejellerup Racing - Pi3141 - Two Saleen S7-Rs
Equpie Fantomette by Euromotor International - Fantomette_BR - Two Lister Storm GTs (Entered via Step 3)
Minarae - Aerond - One Ferrari 550 Maranello
Globex Scorpio Racing - Salamander - One Lister Storm GT (Entered via Step 3)
Chris Short Racing - RDD - One Ferrari 575 GTC (Entered via Step 3)

Everyone listed above has until November 21st, 2016 at 1200 hours pst to post their plans if they are to enter via this portion of the entry process. If you want to make this go by quicker, say you plan to do something else instead of prolonging this process out longer than it needs to go. Below is the entry form and the tires that are available for each car.

Once again, for everyone entering: it is still 2018. You still have to respect where and when other drivers would be busy, regardless of the series. That does include Judd McAllister who drove in all the F2 races in 2018.

Entry Form
Team Name (Nationality):
Car (Factory Status):
Tires: (Please say if you are a Pirelli/Dunlop runner and you want to apply to be their factory team)
Car X Drivers: TBA/TBA
Car Y Drivers: TBA/TBA

Car Allotment Step 4

Post by RealRacingRoots »

Link to the Car Allotment Data can be found here, the link also includes how many for each individual car is available.

If you had the option to enter via Step 2 or 3 but elected not to, you now have to wait your turn until Step 6 if you want to re-enter. As a reminder for everyone, the full-time entry list is capped at 36, with an additional 6 part time cars can be entered for each race. And actually send in driver applications for the BMS Scuderia Italia Ferraris.

We move on to Step 4, where Part-Time teams from last year can now enter full time if they wish to do so. Previously I had it be where they had to use the car they had last year in this instance, but for the sake of opening up possibilities Part-Time Teams and Super GP teams can enter 2018 full time with whatever car that's left that they choose, with either a one or two car operation. If they elect to enter with the car they had last year, as long as it's still homologated, they are guaranteed that car to be available to them regardless of it's availability otherwise. The caveat of that is that is if they enter a two car operation, only the first car is guaranteed to them. Here's a majority of the teams that can enter through Step 4, with most of the Autonomous teams being left out since they won't be fixtures beyond part time appearances, and teams whose owner haven't been around for a while; but if they show up they can come to play too, check the wiki for information. Here's the preliminary list:

Fulcrum Racing - Peteroli - Chrysler Viper GTS-R (No Longer Homologated)
Clockwork Racing - Cynon - Chrysler Viper GTS-R (No Longer Homologated)
CWG Data Collection - Kevinbotz - Chevrolet Corvette C5-R
Katayama Racing - SuperAguri - Ferrari 575 GTC
Team LKM - Autonomous - Lamborghini Murciealago R-GT
RMR Motorsport - Autonomous - Ferrari 575 GTC
Renzo Engineering - Biscione - Ferrari 575 GTC
Blokkmonsta Motorsport - Captain_Getz - Lister Storm GT

Everyone listed above has until December 6th, 2016 at 1200 hours pst to post their plans if they are to enter via this portion of the entry process. There are no more Aston Martin DBR9s available for 2018, just the two assigned to factory teams were made available. Check the car allotment data here to see what is left.

Car Allotment Step 5

Post by RealRacingRoots »

Link to the Car Allotment Data can be found here, the link also includes how many for each individual car is available.

A link to the template pack is now available in the OP. Usage of the numberplate is recommended but not enforced, the font within the pack though is a requirement for those who use the numberplate. A link to all the finished liveries is also in the OP now.

We move on to Step 5 for Car Allotment which is all about people who are on the Reserve List before this post. They can enter whatever team they choose from within their portfolio or create a new one. People who are higher up on the list will receive priority on their entry, so if we hit the Full-Time Entry List Cap in this step, only the highest however many users will enter, but if we don't hit the cap and only a few people enter come the deadline they all will get to race. If we hit the cap in this step, I will not prematurely stop the process in case someone higher on the Reserve List shows up before the deadline. It's all about Priority and waiting your turn. After Step 4, we are on 31 of 36 Full Time Entries. Here is the reserve list and when they joined it:

CaptainGetz12 - Didn't get entry in 2016, was placed on Reserve List as a result.

Dexter249 - 28 Oct 2016, 04:33
V8Fan12* - 28 Oct 2016, 13:17

Everyone listed above has until December 18th, 2016 at 1200 hours pst to post their plans if they are to enter via this portion of the entry process. There are a few people on the list who haven't been around for a whiles, so do keep that in in mind when you enter. As for V8Fan12, well; send me a PM or find me on the IRC so we can talk about previous events regarding your entry in the series if you want to enter at this present moment.

Carson 'optimistic' after Sebring Test

Newly christened factory Chevrolet team in the Rolex GT Super Series Carson Speedworks competed it's first public test with a successful three day program at Sebring International Raceway. This wasn't their first running with the next generation Corvette race car, as the team confirmed that they had completed one private test at the GM proving grounds before moving the testing program to Florida.

This was the first test for the Pratt and Miller supported team with the 2018 specification Michelin rubber, with other factory teams running the French tires for the first time at a test at Motorland Aragon. All four race drivers for Carson: Joey Alliot, Jacques Malenfant, Li Qi and Oliver Jones, racked up mileage for the Detroit based team and were all impressed with the progress made over the three days.

Carson Speedshop and Speedworks owner and founder Henrik Carson shared the sentiment of his drivers, "It's been a tough three months getting the team up and running, but seeing what we've done in that time is simply incredible. We're gonna surprise more than a few people come Interlagos," A lot of the team's engineers and mechanics have prior experience in the series, shared Henrik, with them coming from the defunct Ambrose-Milan team, "They had a lot of success in 2016 at Ambrose-Milan, and are hungry to get back to those winning ways after being out of the game for a year. I feel like that's something we can do this season."

Carson Speedworks weren't the only GT Super Series teams testing at Sebring, fellow competitors GP Racing and Globex Scorpio Racing were seen testing their cars for the upcoming season. GP Racing were testing their new Pirelli tires after announcing a switch from Dunlops for their factory Lister operation. Scorpio Racing had just received delivery of their ex-Union Saver Corvette and were completing a shakedown and initial program before a moving to a more complete testing program next week.

If you're on the reserve list, you got a few days left if you want to potentially get a full-time entry in for 2018.

Car Allotment Step 6: Last Call!

Post by RealRacingRoots »

Dexter249, you will need to change the number of your second 575 as 99 is already being used by Best In The World Motorsports, Dunlops are not available for the 575 GTC.

Link to the Car Allotment Data can be found here, the link also includes how many for each individual car is available.

Ok, we got one full-time slot left. It's time for the last call. Anyone who doesn't already have two full-time cars in the 2018 GTSS can enter one last car full time before full-time entries are closed for the year. You can enter whatever team you choose from within your portfolio or create a new one, within reason. This is completely first come, first served.

If you want in, you got until December 22nd, at 1200 pst to make it happen. If no one bites, then the 35 entries we got is the full-time list for the season. Here's the entry form.

Entry Form
Team Name (Nationality):
Car (Factory Status):
Tires: (Please say if you are a Pirelli/Dunlop runner and you want to apply to be their factory team)
Car X Drivers: TBA/TBA
Livery Idea (say if you'll do your own):
(X refers to the car numbers)

For perspective part-time entrants, the rest of the cars that weren't claimed are now up for grabs. You can use the entry form above but with two concessions: you can't apply to be the factory tire team and you have to nominate what races you will attempt to enter. Part-Time teams can only enter four races over two continents. As a reminder, if you already have all two full time entries, you can still enter a additional part-time car. It cannot be from a already exiting two car operation.

Tire Availability
Aston Martin DBR9 - Dunlop, Falken, Michelin, Pirelli
Chevrolet Corvette C6.R - Dunlop, Michelin, Pirelli
Chevrolet Corvette C5.R - Dunlop, Michelin, Pirelli
Ferrari 550 Maranello - Dunlop, Michelin, Pirelli
Ferrari 575 GTC - Pirelli, Michelin
Lamborghini Murciealago R-GT - Michelin
Lister Storm GT - Dunlop, Pirelli
Masterati MC12 GT1 - Pirelli
Pagani Zonda GR - Pirelli
Saleen S7-R - Dunlop, Michelin, Pirelli

Nevermind that, BITW will instead use the #96 for its second car. Incidentally, this all could have been avoided if teams would have been given first priority on the numbers they used last year ... just saying, is all.
