This sort of sneaky trickery would never normally be allowed - and I fear I'm setting a bad precedent - but the difference in last season's performance between the Williams and Ligier teams raises some serious eyebrows at BMW, especially with this contention being over their top-tier engines, and neither team being German.
On this occasion, as you've clearly read the rules carefully, I will roll, with a 50% chance of your 'delayed' bid being accepted, and a 50% chance of it being refused.
Accepted - 50% chance
Refused - 50% chance
Accepted gets it!
A bold, if rather cheeky move by the Williams team, but this time it paid-off. Nobody else get any ideas!

Of course, Ligier does not like the way Williams tries to do things, and therefore ask that should Williams fail to secure their German driver in phase 2, then the deal automatically goes to Ligier, regardless of wether other teams manage to secure a German driver.

As Ligier and Williams are the only two teams with interest in the works BMW engines at this point, this is agreed. This wrote:Of course, Ligier does not like the way Williams tries to do things, and therefore ask that should Williams fail to secure their German driver in phase 2, then the deal automatically goes to Ligier, regardless of wether other teams manage to secure a German driver.
From this point onward, no further offers on the works BMW M12/13 engines are accepted. They are signed, sealed, delivered and spoken-for, and have been removed from the list of engines in phase one .
@Dexter249/Toleman - get your engine list in, buddy .

Your budget post-sponsorship (currently £20,165,000) is available at the start of the thread, by the way - you're the Toleman team - so... it could be argued that you're not really financially restricted in your engine choices, currently.
I'll assume this is the Renault EF4 customer engine deal, so I've got you down for that one.Dexter249 wrote:Renault TTE P04 Customer
Like drivers and sponsors, there are two phases to engine signing, so you're under no requirement to sign a deal in this phase.
Do you want to re-asses your situation and post a new list, or just stick with the Renault customer engine offer for now?

Engine Signing Results - Set One (Of Two)
OK, easy ones first~!
To nobody's surprise, Ferrari sign the Ferrari 031 works engines...
Renault sign the Renault EF4 works engines.
Alfa Romeo sign the Alfa Romeo 890T works engines.
Porsche TTEPO1 – Works
Brabham - 41% chance
Lotus - 8% chance
Arrows - 4% chance
McLaren - 20% chance
ATS - 2% chance
Williams - 21% chance
Williams gets it!
Renault EF4 – Semi Works
Brabham - 93% chance
Spirit - 6% chance
Brabham gets it!
... but now the surprises begin.
Ligier are the only team with the rights to snag the BMW M12/13 works engines!
BMW M12/13 – Customer
Arrows - 12% chance
Spirit - 6% chance
Tyrrell - 22% chance
McLaren - 52% chance
Osella - 6% chance
Arrows gets it!
Arrows Grand Prix finally get some luck.
Renault EF4 – Customer
Spirit - 6% chance
Tyrrell - 20% chance
McLaren - 48% chance
Osella - 6% chance
Toleman - 18% chance
Tyrrell gets it!
Minardi signs the Alfa Romeo 890T customer engines.
Only Renault's bleeding-edge EF4B engine remains on the table, with Lotus and McLaren fighting it out:
Lotus - 29% chance
McLaren - 70% chance
Lotus gets it!
Wow.
tl;dr
Nordica Brabham Renault signed Renault EF4 – Semi Works engines.
JPS Alfa Romeo signed Alfa Romeo 890T – Works engines.
Ferrari signed Ferrari 031 – Works engines.
Renault signed Renault EF4 – Works engines.
Benetton Williams Porsche signed Porsche TTEPO1 – Works engines.
Lotus Renault signed Renault EF4B - Works engines.
Ligier BMW signed BMW M12/13 – Works engines.
Tyrrell Renault signed Renault EF4 – Customer engines.
Minardi Alfa Romeo signed Alfa Romeo 890T – Customer engines.
Arrows BMW signed BMW M12/13 – Customer engines.
Some lucky rolls in there~! Williams' antagonism of Ligier turned out to be unnecessary, although they probably don't care because they're too busy celebrating. The Ligier team have secured themselves the powerful but unreliable BMW works engines, which are an excellent foundation on which to begin rebuilding the team back into competitive form. Lotus did well, also. Arrows got something they wanted for a change, and Minardi continues to make bold contract agreements - laying the track for an impressive debut, as the steam train of bankruptcy chases right behind them, about to fly off its rails and crush them like grapes.
From this phase, only one of the Alfa Romeo 890T – Customer engine deals and both the BMW M12/13 – Semi Works engine deals are leftover, and will all be available in phase two of engine signing.
McLaren, Toleman, Spirit, ATS, Osella and RAM have yet to sign an engine supplier, and will be the only teams to take part in phase two of engine signing!

One thought: is there any chance of us getting a discounted price on the engines, since we are only going to be using half as many engines as all the other teams?

Re: F1 1984+
This is a fair request, as I have attempted to tailor other elements of the virtual series to suit variable-entry teams, but have overlooked this one.Aislabie wrote:is there any chance of us getting a discounted price on the engines, since we are only going to be using half as many engines as all the other teams?
The deal price on offer is to be considered the price for a two-car team. A quarter of this amount is added or subtracted per car. The exact formula is: (x / 2) + ((x / 4) * y)
Where x = deal price on offer, and y = number of cars in team.
It's a quarter - and not a half - because you're paying not just for the unit manufacture, but also for the R&D for the product itself. I've altered your team's budget to reflect this.
Thanks for noticing this issue .

Tyre & Fuel Supplier Signing
Ahh~, let's take a break from all this fast-paced action, and enjoy some nice gentle tyre and fuel supplier signing. We'll do them both at the same time, to make life easier. No phases to this one - everything happens here. If you fail to sign a tyre or fuel supplier, we just go round-and-round until you do!
All tyre and fuel deals are customer deals; there is no development or testing associated with them.
Try to pick at least two tyre suppliers (unless you're picking Pirelli first), and at least three fuel suppliers (unless you're picking Valvoline first), please.
To sign tyre and fuel suppliers, just list them, like this:

Thanks, Aislabie .

Due to the precarious financial situations of certain teams, I suspect some may wish to use part of their available lending limit to attain superior deals now, in the hope of securing sponsorship in phase two. As such, I have edited the top post of the thread to display your starting budgets (which are your borrowing limits), to aid this.
The font colour option on this board doesn't seem to support an alpha channel, so I've put it in tiny font, in an attempt not to distract.
