Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Monaco
1. Haas - I believe this is their first ever double points finish.
2. Fernando Alonso - He made the right choice in going for Indy.

1. Vandoorne - had chance to score a point until a non-engine induced heartbreak.
2. Haas - double points finish.

1. Haas: Finally a double points finish
2. Alonso: Smart choice. Very smart choice to skip Monaco.

1st Haas - Double points finish. Especially impressive considering that Force India & Renault contrived to come away with nothing and Williams come away with very little.
2nd Sainz - Nice calm drama free afternoon run to 6th place deserves a bit of recognition.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Monaco
1. Sainz - a mature drive that managed to capitalise on the promise that the team had shown in the practise sessions and in qualifying.
2. Haas - their first double points finish, which is a decent recovery given that initially it looked like both drivers were uncomfortable with their brakes.
I guess that Vandoorne does deserve a mention for his race up until that late crash - it was, perhaps, flattered by the fact that the team were probably putting most of their resources behind him this weekend, but he did finally begin to look like he was a bit more comfortable with the car at last.

1. Carlos Sainz, Jr.: The maximum result on both days, equaling his best race finish.
2. Felipe Massa: Scored points in what was otherwise an awful weekend for the team (as usual in Monaco). Yes, it was pretty much all luck but still unexpected given how qualifying and most of the race went for them.
Honorable mention: Jolyon Palmer: The season so far has been awful for him, but he stayed out of trouble today. Just 1.3 seconds and one DNF away from scoring a point, for which he would have received my nomination.

IIDoTR:
1. Sainz; a solid weekend leading to a good result, easily the "best of the rest" and ahead of Hamilton on pace.
2. Haas; quietly got on with things and were rewarded with their first double points finish.
HM:
McHonda; their pace was actually decent, even if their racecraft and reliability was not
Raikkonen; his best weekend in a very long time, despite missing out on the win
Massa: points in a Williams at Monaco is pretty good

1- Sáinz, showing he's GP winner material, best of tier 2, and the first to finish ahead a tier 1 car (Mer, Fer, and rb) in the year.
2- Massa, for catching some points in the mix.
HM Mclaren, they are in slow evolution, but it's evolution.

Max Chilton (10 points)
He very nearly won that race, and was defending so well against Sato.
Carlos Sainz (6 points)
Just another excellent drive by a driver who deserves a better car.

1 - Sainz: Give this man a better car. It's pretty clear he can handle it.
2 - Haas: A pretty good day, double points finish.

10,000 Gil, 10,000 EXP, 10 ABP and a Masamune to Fernando Alonso, for not turning up and doing something less boring instead.
6,000 Gil, 6,000 EXP, 6 ABP and a Murasame to Carlos Sainz, for putting in a performance that I thought was an unrejectification, only it had already happened at the end of last year, and which should see a bigger team come calling at some stage.
Honourable mention to Haas, who'd never have done what they did today last year when they had a certain deadbeat Mexican in the second car. That said, given some of Rrrrrmmmmnnn Grrrrrjjjjjnn's performances this year, it's not clear who's first in the pecking order there...

1. Waffle Vandoorne. He brought his A-game today, only to be let down by the Ste. Devote tarmac. Finally showed that ATCC and VV8s pace.
2. Sainz. Finished ahead of Hamilton on merit. Anything else to say?

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Monaco
1. Haas - on the money all weekend. I'm not Magnussen's biggest fan and Grosjean is not the safest pair of hands but they were rock solid.
2. Sainz - there are weekends were he is well clear of the rest of the midfield, and this was one of them. Shame that Red Bull is the least likely of the top 3 teams to make a driver change.

1. Carlos Sainz. 6th place and beat Hamilton. 'Nuff said.
2. Haas, for a solid double-points finish.
HMS to Honda for the power units actually surviving the race, at least before Button and Vandoorne binned their cars, Ricciardo's front-left wheel for holding up after clouting the barrier after the safety car, Raikkonen for getting Pole and Jolyon Palmer for nearly getting points.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Monaco
1. Sainz - first time anyone has finished in front of a car from the top 3 teams is excellent (even though admittedly on a normal circuit Hamilton would most likely have got him).
2. Haas - first time both cars in the points (even though I really dislike the new livery - though it seems to have divided opinion!)

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Monaco
So the results are in, and in a race where many faltered, there were a few standouts in the positive direction!
1 Carlos Sainz Jr. 120
2 Haas 82
3 Fernando Alonso 28
4 Stoffel Vandoorne 20
5 Felipe Massa 12
6 Max Chilton 10
- Takuma Sato 10
- Jolyon Palmer 10
9 Daniel Ricciardo 6
So Carlos Sainz Jr wins IIDOTR a second time this season (the first being tied with Magnussen in China) after finishing within the top six in the same race that the front three teams had full reliability. Another great job from the guy - why isn't he in top machinery again?
Haas F1 finish runner-up, with their first double-points finish. Their drivers kept out of trouble and took a respectable reward from it. Isn't it nice that the team now has two drivers capable of scoring points for it
