Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Canada
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Canada
1. Lance Stroll - Easily the best race of his career so far, and finally brings home some points.
2. Esteban Ocon - Unrejectification!

1. Lance Stroll: There's no better place to score your first points than your home race! Looked like he had an exciting race in general.
2. (shared, 3 points for each) Esteban Ocon: Outpaced Pérez, brilliant race.
Sir Patrick Stewart: He deserves a nomination for being the first person to voluntarily drink from Ricciardo's shoe (the others have seemed a bit reluctant).

1. Stroll - I expected that he was going to bin it, but despite being in some situations where he was under pretty heavy pressure, he put in a decent enough performance.
2. Ocon - I think may would agree that he did not get the result out of this race that he arguably deserved, but nevertheless it was still a fine performance

10 points - Lance Stroll
Some good composure, solid wheel-to-wheel racing and he finally has that monkey off his back.
6 points - Sebastian Vettel
He came back from eighteenth. Very good drive.

1. Esteban Ocon, unrejectification and with good pace for a potential podium finish.
2. Lance Stroll, for points and a good race.
Hm, Vettel, nice recovery!

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Canada
1st - Stroll. At the start of the weekend, I wouldn't have expected him to get a sniff of the points.
2nd - Ocon. Great drive.

1. Stroll: Credit where it's due, he is improving and that was a good race and a deserved points finish. Take note, Jolyon Palmer...
2. Ocon: very fast, very good on tyres and he very nearly got a podium finish. Still, even sixth's good enough for unrejectification.
HM:
Ricciardo: podium in an underpowered Red Bull
Force India: very competitive
Vettel: Good recovery drive

Enough said about them already.
HM - Alonso for joining the spectators in the stands after his retirement. The guy knows how to keep people talking about him despite not scoring a single point all season!

1. Lance Stroll - 94
2. Esteban Ocon - 82
3. Force India-Mercedes - 16
4. Sir Patrick Stewart - 10
- Ryan Blaney - 10
6. Sebastian Vettel - 6
Ooh boy this one was a bit close... but the teenage Canadian rookie Lance Stroll takes the IIDOTR honors this time around! The rather scrappy and unrefined rookie managed to stick it to the doubters and those who thought he was F1's new poster boy of crashing by putting in a clean and respectable run in his home country. The little points haul made his efforts all the sweeter.
Force India's Esteban Ocon just got edged out for top honors, for managing to almost bring the pink machine to the podium, with no help from his teammate pulling quite the dick move by holding him up. One more thing: he's also no longer a reject!
