Drivers

- NEW: Reputation and Nationality bonuses affect driver signing. The higher the value, the more influence it has on the RNG. These values can be found on the Team Stats tab of the spreadsheet.
- NEW: If a driver is sacked, you must pay him one race's wages as a severance fee.
- NEW: If a driver on a two season contract is sacked in the first year of his contract, you must pay him the rest of the first season’s wages.
- NEW: Ex-pay drivers who have been offered a wage will revert to being a pay driver after a season of unemployment
- Minimum wage for the season is £50,000 for paid drivers - That is £3,125 per race.
- An offer for a driver must at least match his asking price for the offer to be considered.
- A team MUST enter TWO drivers into each race weekend they enter in order to be eligible for both championship points and all prize money
- The maximum contract length is 2 years.
- Wages deemed to be grossly unfair (£50,000 for a championship winner, for instance) will be blocked.
Pay Drivers
- NEW: All young drivers start as pay drivers, until their success warrants a paid wage.
- NEW: A pay driver may be offered a paid wage to double your odds of securing them in the RNG. However, this transforms a driver from a pay to a normal driver for the rest of their careers.
- There are two tiers of pay driver - tiers 1 and 2. Tier 1 drivers will bring in between in between £125,000 and £200,000 to your team over the course of a season. Tier 2 drivers will bring in between £25,000 - £150,000.
- A RNG will be conducted once a driver receives an offer to see how much money they will bring for the season.
- If you wish to hire a pay driver for less than the full season (17 races), his/her money pot will be divided by 17, and then multiplied by the length of his/her contract.
- All pay drivers pay their money up front.
- If a pay driver is sacked, your forfeit the money they would have paid for the duration of their contract.
- For fictional pay drivers, a RNG of 50/50 will be run to determine whether they are Class 1 or Class 2.
The driver market is now OPEN! The driver and pay driver lists are intended as a guide rather than a definitive list, so feel free to bid for those not listed, but bear in mind the following contracts:
McLaren: Tom Sneva
Renault: Jean-Pierre Jabouille & Jean-Pierre Jarier (including Jarier's loan to Autodelta)
Ensign: Ronnie Peterson
Ligier: Jacky Ickx
Autodelta: Jean-Pierre Jarier (on loan from Renault for 3 races) & Emerson Fittipaldi (Races 4-16)
As a result, Renault only need to sign a driver for the 3 races Jarier is on loan to Autodelta, and McLaren, Ensign, Ligier and Autodelta only need to sign one driver.
Please also bear in mind the following drivers are unable to be signed:
Gunnar Nilsson: Testicular cancer
Privateers do not need to sign drivers now, indeed, they can wait until nearer the time they plan to enter. The deadline for the first round of the driver RNG will close on Saturday, 25th November at 11:59 PM GMT.
Designers
Da Rules wrote:NEW: Designers
- NEW: Designers allow you to build grounds effects chassis if your GE level is 0. They can also help improve other stats areas of the car both during construction and during upgrades
- NEW: Designers are like drivers – they have team preferences, must be paid a wage, can be hired for a maximum of 2 years, and are subject to RNG.
- More information is provided on the Designers tab of the spreadsheet.
Designers offer bonuses towards chassis construction and upgrades. Designers have preferences toward teams, and are signed via RNG like drivers, except you cannot offer a designer more or less money than the value listed. They can be signed for a maximum of 2 years.
The Ground Effects level stat boosts the team's GE level, allowing you to build better Grounds Effects chassis. (note: teams with a GE level of 0 cannot build GE chassis). Grip Range stat adds or subtracts to the bottom value of your chassis/upgrade RNGs. (e.g. A grip range stat of +10 adds +10 grip to the base value of an RNG, moving 0-100 to 10-100.) The BQ, Drag and Chassis Weight stats directly influence the relevant chassis stats.
LIke drivers, I will take suggestions for more designers to be added to the list.
Please submit driver and designer bids using the form below.
