Morning all, it's nearly time for the season to get going, so I thought I'd run a little something.
Your job here is to pick the best possible line-up for the 2018 F1 season, and to be ruthless enough to make the changes your team needs. I am of course happy to answer any questions you may have about the whole thing.
Disclaimers:
The $100m budget isn't very restrictive - I know, but it is just restrictive enough that it should force some creativity in your team selections.
You're still meant to be running a thing - I know, and my plans for it haven't gone away. Annoyingly, my uni workload ramped up quite a lot over the last few weeks.
Nobody will pick Honda - Poor Honda.

I'm going to go for a mixture of young drivers and the best chassis/engines Team Name: TCBY F1 (I can't think of a clever name) Nationality: Britain Chassis: Red Bull RB14 Engine: Ferrari Drivers: Esteban Ocon, Carlos Sainz Jr. Total Cost= 24+30+11+10= $75m
Also, I assume different teams can run the same chassis (otherwise I'll need a new one)

The only thing I'd like to avoid is a completely identical team to one already posted. However, there is an issue in that Ocon will be driving with a Mercedes engine. Could always replace him with Alonso?
Otherwise, your team is fine, title gore and all. (But please change your teams name it's horrible)

I'll adjust it then (you didn't actually originally state that drivers had to drive with a different engine than in RL- you only mentioned chassis)

Here are the standings after the Australian Grand Prix, now including all the teams!
In this race, the best possible combination would have been Lewis Hamilton & Fernando Alonso, with a Red Bull chassis and Ferrari engine. That would have scored the maximum 88 points.
I know it's a little late, but here are the standings after the Bahrain Grand Prix. For this race, the perfect combination would have been Pierre Gasly and Nico Hulkenberg, driving a Mercedes chassis with Ferrari power.
Now I vaguely remember someone requesting a change to their team in advance of the Chinese Grand Prix when we were talking about it in the Mibbit chat. If that person could let me know what that change was and I'll sort that out for the Chinese scores.
Greetings all and apologies that this hasn't been updated in so long. The most honest answer as to why is that I simply forgot I was running it until I was reminded today by my own forum signature.
There's actually a really interesting title battle shaping up between Czechmate Motorsport (Reject_Dom), Kinan Motorsports (Aggi), Scuderia Ambrosiana (Aislabie) and Laotian SRD (WaffleCat), all of whom are split by just 13 points across the season so far.
I should also add that I am taking this opportunity to substitute the disappointing Stoffel Vandoorne for the revelatory Kevin Magnussen from Silverstone onwards in the hope of closing that gap
I shall swap Kimi Raikkonen for Max Verstappen, now that Max is performing well, and I shall ditch the Hondas for the Ferrari power units. I want to stop finishing last all the time.
