Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Abby Dabby
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Abby Dabby
1. Stoffel Vandoorne - Did the best he could hauling that orange turd up the field, and the battle with Ocon was decent while it lasted.
2. The chequered flag coming out - Finally this season is over, thank god for that.

Yeah, I was willing the last 10 laps to hurry up and finish.
But Sainz did well, despite the spread issues (which I will talk about in the ROTR/ROTY threads), it was a trademark Sainz drive, kept his head down, his nose clean, and did the job.
Leclerc: Should we even nominate him? A really good drive from him is no longer infinitely improbable, he has done a great job this season. But to be fair, again he delivered, even if his strategy was a bit off.

Make that 2 nominations for Will Smith.
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Abby Dabby
I nominate Charles Leclerc. He ran fourth in a Sauber (!), and only a poor strategy kept him from finishing best of the rest once again. If he keeps this up, Vettel will have a real challenge next year...

For me it simply has to be the rain. Who'd have thunk that rain would hit the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix?

As my prediction didn't happen, I'm going to nominate "rain" too.
HM to Leclerc.

Scott McLaughlin for redeeming himself after his tremendous choke last year.

There were a couple of crazy and unusual things that happened in Abu Dhabi, but rain takes the win by some margin. People, myself included, simply didn't believe rain would come, even when it was predicted closer and closer. But it came, and though it wasn't hugely effective in shaking up the race, its sheer existence was crazy and improbable enough that it gets our IIDOTR award here.
