2005 Formula GP Series - Signups are avaliable

Hey all, welcome to my first attempt at making a series, it is non canon so hopefully things will run smoothly, the series will be simulated on GTR2.

BACKGROUND
In 2004 the FIA had some money to spend and they decided to make another racing series, the aim of said racing series was to build more hype for Formula 1 around the world whilst also visiting new countries and new cities around the world to attract fans, the FIA worked around the clock to come up with something and what they come up with was this series. Called the Formula GP Series the FIA knew if it were to succeed they would need a successful first season, so in 2005 the Formula GP Series raced for the first time.

BASIC INFORMATION FOR SIGNUPS
- 12 teams and 24 drivers is the maximum for this season.
- There will be 2 championships, Drivers and Constructors
- The engine suppliers are as follows: Alfa Romeo, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Renault
- 15 Rounds
- The points system is like this:
1st - 25
2nd - 20
3rd - 16
4th - 13
5th - 10
6th - 8
7th - 6
8th - 4
9th - 2
10th - 1

TEAMS AND DRIVERS
To enter the series, you must complete the signup form by writing the name of your team, engine choice and chassis you want to use. See below.

Team: (team name)
Constructor Name: (eg: Red Bull Racing-Honda)
Engine: (engine choice)
Chassis (chassis choice)
Sponsors: (sponsor choice)
Drivers: (drivers to go into the draft)

Every team will start with a budget of £50,000,000, to spend between engines, chassis, and, of course, driver payments. As for the drivers, you must name two drivers (both real and fictional are allowed). They will later be put in a list which is what will be used in the "Transfers" part of Pre season during this time all the drivers listed by the signups will be put on a spreadsheet and when a team chooses a driver from the transfer list the driver will be removed from the list, the team should also state the drivers wage so this can be applied to the budget of the team.

Budgets will be updated every race.

Engines
The two things that are most important to a car to make it race, like I said earlier there are 5 engine manufacturers to choose from, take into consideration which one you want to use because, like in most series, your team will have that engine until the end of the season. Below you will see the price for an engine from each manufacturer (yes these engines are pricey but in this non canon universe the series has just started so in my mind things would be a bit more expensive than usual.)

FORD - £14,000,000
RENAULT - £19,000,000
REPLACING ENGINES (following engine failures etc...) - £1,000,000

Prize Money
Prize Money is a way of teams to make money during the season, prize money can be won through winning races or getting a podium and of course through winning the Drivers or Constructors Championships. At the end of each season, I will announce how much prize money everyone has so they can add it to their budgets this part of the season will be called the "Season Awards" as for the race wins and podiums they can be added to the budget of a team following the appropriate race.

CONSTRUCTORS TITLE WIN - £1,000,000

VOTES FOR NEW RULES, REGULATIONS AND RACES
During the course of a season, votes can be held to change things for the following season this can be adding a track, removing a track, adding rules or removing rules. A post will appear with a possible new rule and the teams will then decide whether to approve it or decline it the option with the most decisions would be the outcome of the vote. Teams can also propose a vote by putting up a post telling everyone else about the new rules or race they propose to add/remove.

Note: Due to the Circuit de Monaco not having enough space to fit all cars on the grid it was dropped from the calendar and in its place was the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours

Well, there's very little action going on at this subforum, and looks like you have a solid plan for the series.

Count me in as interested. Couple of questions, are you going to allow fictional teams/drivers? Many of us have created quite a lot of them over the years, and some might prefer using their "own" entities. Also, since you're going to run this on GTR2, will there be a possibility for custom car liveries? I quite enjoy creating those, but lately there haven't been that many opportunities for that.

Yes as in this universe, its essentially a new series so fictional teams and drivers are very much encouraged however you can use real drivers if you want and yes I believe there is a possibility for custom car liveries, the cars that will be used will be the ChampCar 2005/06 cars and I believe should anyone be able to make liveries for their teams that they will see them in the race previews, reports and other news from this season as well as hopefully on track as well.

Seriously though, he drove Jaguar whilst winning the title. I originally had Björn Wirdheim in there as he was a former Jaguar tester, but I think rejectfulness is more fun.
