What if for other Motorsports/Non-Motorsports?

The place for anything and everything else to do with F1 history, different forms of motorsport, and all other randomness

What if for other Motorsports/Non-Motorsports?

Post by Har1MAS1415 »

Since I previously asked if the "What if?" thread was specifically for questions relating to F1 and never got an answer, I decided there should be a similar thread for other Motorsports and Non-Motorsports.

Realising the significance of the can of worms I may be opening here, I cannot think of any specific "What ifs?" at the time of writing.

So, what if Champ Car and IRL had not merged? Would Newman Haas still exist? Would Seabass Bourdais have still gone to F1? Would Champ Car still have foreign/European races? Would Roger Penske have still taken over Indianapolis Motor Speedway and IRL?

Just thought of one. What if Tomas Enge hadn't failed that drugs test that retrospectively cost him the 2002 F3000 title? Most likely he wouldn't have returned in 2004 and might have got a proper shot at F1 after his brief stint at Prost.

https://www.touringcartimes.com/2022/05 ... r-touring/ - This has got me thinking, what if the TH Motorsport Skoda Octavia NGTC had worked out in the 2012 BTCC?

What if Typhoon Lan hadn't happened, thus allowing the final rounds of the 2017 Super Formula Season to go ahead? I expect Pierre Gasly would have won the title.

What if the Nurburgring was destroyed during WW2?

It would be funny if FortiWinks returned from his absence only to find out that I'm the Forti in town now.

Niki Lauda would never have had his accident in 1976 for a start but then Fangio's 1957 German GP performance would also never happen.

Having done some research in the following thread (viewtopic.php?t=229) perhaps this thread should be merged with that one.
