2023 Australian GP IIDOTR

Post by TomPryce »

1) McLaren. Good to see Lando do so well, and really pleased Piastri got his day.

2) Hulkenberg. Great race!

1) McLaren: Finally in a position to take some solid points; looked a lot more on the pace this weekend than in the previous two races.

2) Hulkenberg: Good effort throughout the race.

I guess I'll nominate Nico Hülkenberg. Great performance all weekend. Oddly, this was arguably the closest he has come to a podium – had the order after the chaotic restart stood (not saying it should have, but you never know with this race control), he would have been there to benefit from Sainz's penalty.

Honorable mention to Piastri for scoring his first points, at his home race!

(1) Alpine - really great race, especially Gasly staying with the Ferrari. Would have been a good double points finish. Shame about the restart

(2) Hulkenberg - not just a lazy choice then?

1- Nico Hulkenberg. Drove perfectly and kept his head in the chaos.

2- Mclaren. Yes got lucky but the car was reliable and both drivers kept it clean and got points!!!!

1. Norris - Amazing job this weekend. Kept Perez at bay for a decent bit and made a solid move on Hulkenberg

2. Hulkenberg - Drove well this weekend. Q3 and scored points.

1. Norris - Incredible.

2. Gasly - Dumb restart doesn't erase an incredible drive up until that point.

Norris gets it for me.

HMs - Gasly (shame about the restart), Hulk (getting lower points finishes is what Hass really need off him), Alpine's pink livery which I'll really miss now, blue will make it look too similar to the Williams.

Nobody connected to Formula 1 deserves IIDOTR after the end of that race.

Gasly: Don’t let the ending take away from the fact that he was on for a comfortable 5th and just a handful of seconds behind Hamilton in 2nd. All while driving a slower Alpine.

Hulkenberg: I was skeptical about him coming back but a strong weekend all around and a big (for Haas) points score.

HM: McLaren: An unexpected points haul even if it was lucky

HM: Tsunoda: A point is the least he deserved for his start to the year.

And the poll is up! You have 48 hours to decide who you think the IIDOTR is for the Australian Grand Prix

Despite my protestations to the contrary, someone has won IIDOTR for Albert Park!
