Your Reject of the Race - Germany!
You know the drill.
So far, I'd say Lewis Hamilton is the leading contender.

Felipe Massa has to be up there too. He had atleast 5 major moments in FP1 for God's sake.

Actually I stand corrected: Reject of the Weekend: The FIA/Almost the entire GP3 field

Re: Your Reject of the Race - Germany!
The FIA hardly deserves the blame for that. It wasn't one of those penalties that attracted controversy, because from the sounds of things, it was pretty clear-cut: those drivers were speeding when under yellow conditions. Even if a dry line was appearing, they should still be slowing down.

Difficult to say, at this stage. 10 minutes to the end of FP3, Lewis is up there, trading blows with the best. Massa is the fastest on track.

The only reason I put the FIA there is I'm under the impression they're still using that stupid system where they apply the penalties in cronological order which made no sense before and still makes no sense now.

Re: Your Reject of the Race - Germany!
Mercedes Benz - Barring a Rosberg rescue in Q3 it's another poor qualifying from them. Kobayashi's mistake at turn 1 is the only thing that stopped them from both being dumped out at Q2.
Re: Your Reject of the Race - Germany!
Force India looks like a likely candidate so far. Sutil loses a lot of places from driveshaft failure and doesn't do enough to compensate; Liuzzi loses it and starts twenty-second.

Kobayashi. He did a piece for the BBC where he did a spot of cooking for Lee McKenzie, a fish dish. One can only presume he did it against his wishes as he was the dictionary definition of the word "uninterested". At the end of cooking the salmon dish he was asked what food he likes to eat. "Anything except fish" was his reply. WTF?

Yer Force India are slipping back. They seem to be behind Williams and maybe even Sauber too now...
Has their brief moment in the sun passed or can they recover?

Lots of people from their tech team has been poached by Lotus and Sauber. it's not looking pretty for them, yeah.

Re: Your Reject of the Race - Germany!
Nico Hulkenberg had the track all to himself and blew it. He then went out and did another two hot laps, and still failed to make a dent in anyone's time. The net result is that he burned through his tyres and he's now forced to start on them off the racing line. Once again, he is his own worst enemy.

Yeah, he did screw up and he's overdriving. It's embarrassing he's only managed to qualify one place ahead of Schumacher, and 3 places ahead of the second Renault driver, Vitaly Whotshisname.

Liuzzi, by emulating Timo Glock for all the wrong reasons.
Re: Your Reject of the Race - Germany!
No one has been trully rejectful so far. Maybe Mercedes, but that's on the overall scheme of things (ie., ROTY), not particularly on this race.
Let's wait for tomorrow's race, that hairpin is recipe for rejectdom.

Your lucky they weren't singing "10 German bombers" to the tune of Ten Green Bottles, I've heard of that happening before. Anyway they'll be disappointed tomorrow, McLaren are relying on Ferrari and Red Bull screwing up tomorrow - though admittedly they're both more than capable of doing that and have done it more than once this season.

Re: Your Reject of the Race - Germany!
The only time I've been to Germany, I had a conversation on a metro train with this guy in a wheelchair who claimed to have been in the top 10 weightlifters in Europe until he picked up his career-ending injuries. He was a really nice guy, so I don't really have anything against the Germans.
Just realised I'm taking this way off topic again...

Back on topic, Force India are leading at the moment, could well take ROTR despite Sutil topping FP1.

I was squirming uncomfortably in my Force India hat, having worn it proudly on the way. Quickly bought a Sauber one to wear instead.

I approve of this notion
Anyways my ROTR nomination as of qualifying is: Force India: Out of all the midfield teams Renault was the one that had a pitiful weekend last time out. Now it's the Force's turn sadly.

You should have pushed them all off the train. When it was at top speed.

I don't think anyone has really stood out at qualifying, only if its a very boring race could I see it going to Force India for their poor qualifying.

Force India so far, putting the tires on the wrong cars! That's pretty rejectful to me.

Unless someone cocks up massively in the second half of the race, Force India looks to have wrapped this up.
Dishonourable mention to Jaime Alguersuari for ruining both his own race and Buemi's by crashing into him.

At this point I have a few...
Force India for their pit stop shenanigans.
Petrov has been quite untidy so far.
Vettel for almost doing a repeat of Silverstone, and again losing places because of it.

Yeah, Ferrari has just taken it for me. Shades of Austria 2002?
I feel that Massa was in a deserving position and it seems to me that Alonso has had another of his trademark whinges over the radio. Yes, it helps in terms of the Driver's Championship. But to me, it just doesn't seem right at all.
Especially when you consider the fact that it's a year to the day since Massa's accident.
