I think you'd have to rip up the lap times chart and start from scratch if that were to happen, otherwise you'd probably end up with the latest 600bhp Lambo Monsterous doing a worse laptime than that previously recorded by a Skoda! (or the Liana) ...

Well who would you choose then ?
A testen from BMW that job is test the cars, just test and drives 10.000km in a week could also be a perfect stig.

In my opinion thats not as far fetched as some other nominees. She's a friend of the show, very quick and quick in a variety of vehicles. If you look at Ben "Traitor" Collins' CV hes done alot more than just single seater racing and thats what any wannabe Stig needs. I would suggest an ex WRC driver before an F1 driver to be honest, single seater racing just doesnt cover enough bases.

Absolutely. I competed against him when I was engineering cars in the 2001 FIA Sportscar and 2003 ASCAR championships and had a chance to grasp just how gifted a driver he was. Truly an excellent racing driver, that unfortunately, like so many other great drivers in junior formulae, didn't have enough money to make it to Formula 1.

Why has everyone forgotten? The world's best racing driver is out there, unemployed, waiting for the right drive...

Some say he invented the Rubik's Cube, and that he built every Ford Model T ever produced with his bare hands.
All we know is, he ISN'T the Stig (yet)...but he is,
Zsolt Baumgartner.

Is still active, by the way? Because we seem to have a tendency to start projects that end up abandoned.

To return slightly back on topic, Perry McCarthy was at Brands Hatch today. There was a biogas-powered VW Scirocco race in which Derek Bell, Mark Blundell, Martin Brundle and Johnny Herbert raced the guest cars as "Legends." The last three named got onto the Legends podium in which Damon Hill and Perry McCarthy (and somebody else) presented the trophies. And then all five fought over the champagne and the former black Stig got absolutely drenched. All seemed to be having a good old jolly...
