Formula One can go racing in the wet. Why have we waited so long?

Credit to Whitmarsh and Mclaren for co-operating with the BBC and keeping people in the loop, really helps everyone know what the hell is going on

So, when the race restarts, one would assume that Kamui can't keep Felipe behind him for too long. But given that he seemd to be faster than the Renaults in the little bit of racing we had, I'd say that he has a real shot at the podium still (depending on how long it takes Webber/Button/Alonso to start clawing their way back up).

Or Clay Regazzoni-I've just read his biography including the tales of when he went missing for a practice session and was tracked down to the bedroom of the hotel they were staying in bed with the hotel owner and her daughter...
....and that was not the first occasion he'd indulged in such a hobby

Kobayashi may be an outsider here for the win, as a Japanese driver he has massive experience driving in Monsoon conditions from the lower formulae, plus if he shunts Vettel off I'll have no complaints!

It was indeed! Also I am reckoning we have around 1 hour of racing left, so a 10pm finish here in England, absolutely mental!

Brundle and DC were talking about it, so I don't know why they didn't show the whole of the 1991 Australian GP instead of non-stop chat, given that the race only lasted about 25 mins. Would have been a good comparison. Judging by the usual guff posted by the BBC in the Classic GP area of the website though, they'll probably claim they 'can't find it in the archives' or something.

I would have rather seen anything other than Rihanna wandering around. She practically stepped over that poor cameraman, the bitch.

Safety car start-let's go racing and worry about the shower when it arrives. If we all sit waiting for it and it turns out to be a few drips,we'll all look daft...

5:45am here...

Thankfully it's a public holiday tomorrow, as I've really fallen behind on sleep with Le Mans as well.

Fingers crossed that this restart has been worth waiting for.

Circuits virtually clear of standing water and the shower is merely a couple
of drips. Everyone back on full wets too.
