16:01      *** c quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
16:40      *** AlstomGPE joined #prostgp
16:40   AlstomGPE   Did I miss anything...like, idk, the race?
16:40   Darkapprentice77   no, it hasn't even started yet
16:40   AlstomGPE   Also, you made a typo in rFactor, it's Alstom not Alstrom
16:41   Darkapprentice77   ah
16:41   AlstomGPE   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alstom they are the team sponsor you see...
16:42   Darkapprentice77   yes
16:42   AlstomGPE   also, I'm really surprised Voeckler qualified 7th, I expected him to be dead last!!!
16:42   Darkapprentice77   i did a few test races before this and sometimes he lapped quite slowly
16:43   Darkapprentice77   may as well start it now i suppose
16:43   Darkapprentice77   round 5 of the prost gp series is underway...
16:44   Darkapprentice77   now!!!!
16:44   AlstomGPE   well maybe some people will join later, I don't know...
16:44   AlstomGPE   five minutes between posting the race will go live and starting doesn't give much time for many people...
16:44   Darkapprentice77   voeckler jumps into 5th
16:45   Darkapprentice77   technically when im typing stuff into here the game actually pauses so in a way it doesn't matter
16:45   AlstomGPE   I see....
16:46   Darkapprentice77   mignolet is the first spinner of the day
16:47   Darkapprentice77   but he's made a good recovery
16:47   AlstomGPE   it's Dennis and not Ron Mignolet in this series right?
16:48   Darkapprentice77   after lap 1 of this GP, here's the top 8: darrell, rosenforth, malenfant, alliot, voeckler, walwijk, bromberger and boom
16:49   Darkapprentice77   gonna be honest, not much going on atm
16:50   Darkapprentice77   bromberger takes 7th
16:50   Darkapprentice77   *6th
16:51   Darkapprentice77   rosenforth takes the lead!
16:51   Darkapprentice77   yes it is dennis
16:53   Darkapprentice77   jose alvarez isn't doing to well in his home GP, he's stuck in 29th
16:55   Darkapprentice77   walwijk has dropped 3 places from his starting position, the boss of vittore won't be happy with that
16:56   AlstomGPE   hmm
16:56   AlstomGPE   so basically Voeckler still battling for 5th with Bromberger?
16:57   Darkapprentice77   bromberger goes through at turn 1!!!
16:58   Darkapprentice77   now voeckler is being closely followed by jase van der boom
16:58   AlstomGPE   merda....
16:58   Darkapprentice77   only .3 seconds behind
16:58   AlstomGPE   no wait my team is French in this series!
16:59   AlstomGPE   ahem...I mean...MERDE.
16:59   Darkapprentice77   2 cars retired on the same lap, lerby and verwest, both with engine troubles
17:00   Darkapprentice77   in only 5 laps, debutant varsha has stormed up to 13th
17:02   Darkapprentice77   the other debutant casper larsson is not so lucky, he's out, the peugeot engine detonating yet again
17:02   Darkapprentice77   roh's lost ti!
17:02   Darkapprentice77   *it
17:02   AlstomGPE   *clears throat* Voeckler is a debutant too
17:03   Darkapprentice77   oh yeah...lol
17:04   Darkapprentice77   lap 7: rosenforth, darrell, malenfant, alliot, bromberger, voeckler, van der boom, walwijk
17:04   Darkapprentice77   and now varsha takes 11th from byrne
17:05   Darkapprentice77   jordan's out, suspension
17:05   Darkapprentice77   great performances from both debutants
17:07   AlstomGPE   clearly all that Alstom money is helping disguise Frederic-Maxime's lack of talent!
17:09   Darkapprentice77   campbell-fray's engine blows
17:10   Darkapprentice77   mignolet goes to 14th
17:11   Darkapprentice77   oh no!!!
17:12   Darkapprentice77   alliot loses it while trying to pass bromberger for 3rd
17:12   Darkapprentice77   *4th
17:13   Darkapprentice77   he hasn't lost any positions, but now voeckler is much closer to him
17:14   Darkapprentice77   anger spins
17:14   Darkapprentice77   mignolet's out!
17:14   Darkapprentice77   on lap 13
17:14   Darkapprentice77   e n g i n e
17:15   Darkapprentice77   OH DEAR ROSENFORTH RETIRES FROM 1ST SORRY FOR CAPS!!!!!
17:15   Darkapprentice77   djurov is out aswell
17:15   Darkapprentice77   brakes this time
17:16   Darkapprentice77   so jacques malenfant leads the spanish gp
17:17   Darkapprentice77   lap 15/21: malenfant, bromberger, darrell, alliot, voeckler, boom, walwijk and renales
17:19   Darkapprentice77   walwijk's suspension fails
17:19   Darkapprentice77   varsha moves up to 9th - one more place and he'll score a point
17:20   Darkapprentice77   mazzacane's engine blows up
17:21   Darkapprentice77   restov retires from 8th which moves varsha into the points
17:21   Darkapprentice77   van der boom's brakes fail
17:21   Darkapprentice77   i believe he was 4th at the time
17:22   Darkapprentice77   voeckler moves up to 3rd in 1 corner!
17:22   Darkapprentice77   he takes alliot while alliot's team mate malenfant ran wide while leading!
17:23   Darkapprentice77   so now bromberger is 1st
17:24   Darkapprentice77   pereria retires....again
17:25   Darkapprentice77   offenhauser is off
17:26   Darkapprentice77   he suffers from the 10000th engine failure in prost gp
17:27   Darkapprentice77   oh my goodNESS
17:27   Darkapprentice77   bromberger stops at the hairpin!
17:27   Darkapprentice77   darrell leads with voeckler 2nd
17:28   AlstomGPE   yikes!
17:28   AlstomGPE   I leave for a phone call and all that madness happens!
17:28   Darkapprentice77   lol
17:29   AlstomGPE   COME ON VOECKLER! VIVE LA FRANCE!
17:30   AlstomGPE   allez allez allez!!!!!!!!!!!!
17:30   Darkapprentice77   darrell has a 4 second lead over voeckler
17:30   Darkapprentice77   just 2 laps left
17:30   Darkapprentice77   mantis' brakes give in
17:31   Darkapprentice77   brb need a drink
17:33   Darkapprentice77   back
17:33   Darkapprentice77   nurmester, renales and nikolov are all battling for 8th
17:33   Darkapprentice77   *7th
17:34   Darkapprentice77   byrne takes 5th from varsha
17:34   Darkapprentice77   race leader darrell starts the final lap
17:35   AlstomGPE   AND SPINS OFF THE ROAD PLS?!
17:35   Darkapprentice77   voeckler is 3 seconds behind
17:35   Darkapprentice77   lol
17:35   Darkapprentice77   in mugello the driver that was about to finish 2nd retired with just 1 corner to go
17:36   Darkapprentice77   the gap is now just 1.7 secs
17:37   AlstomGPE   last lap lunge time
17:37   Darkapprentice77   but charlie darrell exits the final corner to make it 2 wins in a row!
17:38   Darkapprentice77   varsha takes 5th in the last corner!
17:39   Darkapprentice77   so a brilliantly controlled win for charlie darrell with voeckler an astonishing 2nd on his debut
17:40   Darkapprentice77   malenfant 3rd, he should've won but stupidly made a mistake while leading
17:40   Darkapprentice77   alliot finally gets some much deserved points in 4th
17:40   Darkapprentice77   5th is the amazing murray varsha
17:40   Darkapprentice77   who made 16 places from his starting position
17:41   Darkapprentice77   stephen byrne 6th
17:41   Darkapprentice77   nurmester gets his first points since australia with 7th
17:41   Darkapprentice77   and nikolov rounds out the top 8
17:43   Darkapprentice77   let's see who set the fastest lap...
17:44   AlstomGPE   voeckler?
17:45   Darkapprentice77   it's voeckler with 1.20.435
17:48   Darkapprentice77   so that was the spanish gp from jerez, not really that interesting of a race apart from retirements
17:48   Darkapprentice77   next gp we'll be in the a1 ring for the austrian GP
17:49   Darkapprentice77   oh yeah IIDOTR would go to either varsha or voeckler
17:49   Darkapprentice77   or both

Two in a row, baby! Everything is starting to go well now.

We, Simon's Motorsport Team, will spend $4 on mass and $6 on engine life.

Alstom will spend $10 on reducing mass, $5 on engine upgrade, and $5 on Voeckler's composure (assuming it's possible to upgrade driver stats? I dunno, I'm new to this!)

Yes, you can upgrade Frédéric-Maxime's speed, aggresion or composure. 1 point in each of these categories = $1. ;)

To make things more interesting, I'll enter myself as a driver you can hire, it won't be a character that the AI will drive as, it will literally be me using a controller to drive the Prost. I won't give myself any advantages, and if I cause a horrible enough crash (Which given my past racing game experience is a slight possibility!) I will even ban myself from racing. :)

Jonathan Taylor (Yes, that is my real name)
Speed: I'd say about 37
Composure: I'd say about 1
Agression: I'd say about 37

Seeing that I have over a 100 bucks to spend (103, to be exact),

Driver upgrades
24 - Speed
24 - Composure
24 - Agression.

Car upgrades
10 x Reduce 1 kg of mass = 20
10 x 1 second to average engine life = 10

Total: 102

These upgrades what I'd like to ask for, please.

And it's another double retirement for FSK. We'd like to spend every last quid on car reliability, thanks.

Mazzacane scale down to one car

After several weak performances, Jasper Lerby has decided to quit Prost GP and return to touring car racing. Lerby had a successful start of the season, but his performance became weaker over the last races, where he was often more than a second away from his teammate, José Pablo Mazzacane. For financial reasons, Mazzacane won't replace Lerby.

Lerby is reported to join STCC already this season.

Looks like Goldrush racing is the Mercedes GP of this series. We started the season scoring top 4 results in qualifying and now we are midfield, although I am very pleased by a double points finish.

Due to the fact that my version of Monaco only allows 21 starters and because Monaco is boring anyway, it's been replaced with a Scottish GP in Knockhill. :D

What version of Monaco you use? Better you get another version of it. And you should thought of DNQing drivers for that round. ;)

There are rumors that there will be a "Prost Gran Turismo Grand Prix" held in Grand Valley Speedway or High Speed Ring in the future. Thoughts?
