Is the Hungaroring that hilly? It looks more like Spa or maybe even Imola to me? :?

I might be wrong, but I think it's the original Turn Three at the Hungaroring (the one that was installed due to the underground stream being found when the circuit was constructed, and then bypassed for 1989).

The elevation is indeed reminiscent of Spa, but I don't think this photo corresponds to a particular point on that circuit. It also slightly resembles Acqua Minerale, but I don't think the angle of the corner in the foreground is consistent with that particular location.

it is 1980, note the side skirt grinding along the ground. they were told to "lift their skirts" in '81, as it shows on the bottom picture there. or is that '82?

Miserable Thierry (Boutsen) staggers round mostly on ten cylinders (out of 12) with no clutch, low oil pressure, bad brakes and no grip to finish tenth, 3 laps down...

No, that circuit doesn't look at all like Paul Ricard. My guess is that photo was taken during pre-season testing, but I can't pinpoint the location.

And one of the previous photos you posted (Alan Jones 1981) is actually from the Argentine GP, not from the Austrian GP. My bad :(

Anyway, back to work:
1) Keke Rosberg, TAG Williams Team, Williams FW08 - Ford Cosworth DFV 3.0 V8, 1982 Austrian GP, Österreichring.
2) Jos Verstappen, PIAA Tyrrell, Tyrrell 025 - Ford Cosworth ED4 3.0 V8, 1997 Australian GP, Albert Park.
3) David Coulthard, Jacques Villeneuve, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Ralf Schumacher, Michael Schumacher, Giancarlo Fisichella, Damon Hill, Olivier Panis, 1997 Luxembourg GP, Nürburgring.
4) Keke Rosberg, Marlboro McLaren International, McLaren MP4/2C, TAG Porsche P01 1.5 V6T, 1986 French GP, Paul Ricard.
5) Lewis Hamilton, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, McLaren MP4-23, Mercedes-Benz FO108V 2.4 V8, 2008 Belgian GP, Spa-Francorchamps.

The kerb on the Keke Rosberg 1982 Williams picture looks suspiciously like Druids at Brands Hatch, although the barrier seems too close for my liking.

Is the Verstappen picture the Variante Alta at Imola by any chance? (1997, of course). .

I would say Canada also - it looks like the S/F line when it used to come out of the hairpin - so I would see the Piquet shot is also in Canada.

The Warwick shot is Silverstone yes.

Going back to the Lauda photo of 1974 - would it be that really really really really really boring circuit? (Belgium - Nivelles)

After some more research, the pic with Lauda in the Ferrari 312B3 might (I'm not 100% sure) be from the Argentine GP, because the car definately looks like an early-spec 1974 312B3.

And the photo with Elio de Angelis in the Lotus is from Canada, surely, because the car he's driving is a 93T, and that's the last time Lotus used that car; they introduced the new 94T in Great Britain, and the nosecone was more round-shaped.

Lastly, the photo with Keke Rosberg in the Williams is from the British GP indeed - that's what happens when you forget to open the pic in a new tab to see it in full :P

As for the other two:
-Nelson Piquet, Fila Sport, Brabham BT52 - BMW M12/13 1.5 L4T, 1983 Canadian GP, Montreal.
-Derek Warwick, Camel Team Lotus, Lotus 102 - Lamborghini 3512 3.5 V12, 1990 British GP, Silverstone.

One last thing - are you the guy who manages the "High res F1 Images" Facebook page?

That looks like the Spirit-Honda - I guess that would be at the Race of Champions in 1983 at Brands Hatch, perhaps on the approach to the first corner?

I know this is a "high resolution images" thread, but the first is such a high resolution the forum cuts off about two thirds of the first picture!

Looks like Rubens Barrichello, though, going by the number and the helmet.

It can't be Barrichello, he never drove number 6 for Ferrari. It has to be Eddie Irvine in 1997. Not sure what track though, maybe the Nurburgring?

The Honda pic must be from the Race of Champions as after that the livery was either all white or red white and blue.

You can see it in this video, which contains footage of the race I've never seen before! (Must have been a big deal in Japan that this car was racing)

Could the pic of Suzuki in the Lola be from Japan?

Yep - it must be. When they entered the Championship proper the car was mostly white with thin red striped, then later it was mostly white but with red and blue stripes down the length of the car. In the picture (and the video I posted a link to) there's a fair bit of red but the only blue is on the side of the rear wing.

Only on this forum could I be discussing Spirit liveries in such detail!!
