Well, I can only guess here, but did the Reyna-Sanchez brothers and Cavalcanti end the season with 10/10/10? Becuase if they did, that operation isn't allowed for them :P
Also would be the same for Melrose if that was the case, but I'm assuming you didn't have enough cash to make him 10/10/10 at the end of last season.

He's only doing the Canadian rounds, so there's no issue.

The Indianapolis Chronicle wrote:Robertson completes Mastercard Lola lineup after series switch

Former F2RWRS driver Michael Robertson has left Europe for a new American adventure, taking the vacant #27 seat at Mastercard Lola alongside other new signings Collin Pratchett, Jack Christopherson Jr and Massimiliano Torbani.

"Robertson is a talented lad," said Alessandro Linari, Mastercard Lola team owner. "He had a tough time last season, he switched to the reigning champions after a strong debut year, and said team was all over the place after Macklin's title."

"In Robertson and Christopherson Jr, we have two of the most talented rookies in the series. They've both demonstrated their talents over in Europe but been unable to progress due to other factors. We are a top team with the best equipment, these guys aren't having to pay a cent for their seats, so as long as they deliver on the track, there's no risk of them losing their place."

The Australian driver has initially signed a one year deal, but Linari has hinted he'll be offering an extension before the season is out if the cirumstances are right.

"We are starting a long-term project now," he explained. "Vincenzo and Pupo were here to give the team a solid foundation to work from. They did an excellent job, but they knew they wouldn't be able to stick around much longer. Especially Pupo, his fitness was absolutely incredibly for someone approaching 60 years old. But with Michael, Jack and Max [Massimiliano Torbani], we hope to build a lineup that can bring our team success for many seasons to come."

Robertson's stats here.

I would like to enter as a one-off for Indianapolis if that's okay. :)

Well, I'm almost done with gathering the necessary date for the 2016 IndyCar season. But one team hasn't gotten his data right. You guessed it, Klon has to give me the stats for Herbert Aston and for Mika Häkkinen and James Davies.

EDIT: I also need ZimSport's skills. Other than that, I'm finished with the data.

Well, first off we resign Ralf Schumacher for 300,000 and pay whatever is needed to bring him back up to 10 in everything.

Then we sign Herbert Aston (stats: 2-2-3) for the entire season as a pay-driver and James Davies (stats: 10-10-10) for Indy and Mika Häkkinen (stats: 8-8-8) for Lausitzring.

In theory we should have enough cash for that.

I thought I had a team, with Cannon and Das Schaf driving, a renamed continuation of Bobby Dollar Racing. What would my budget be?

In that case I will keep both existing chassis and buy another Honda engine to replace the old Cosworth. All the rest of the money will spent on Damon Cannon's skills. And the team is renamed to Checkered Flag Motorsport.

I am fairly certain that Hirate will have the speed to contend for points, but probably not wins. The other two, I am a little nervous about given the contract length of Gachnang in particular. She's gonna have a steep learning curve on the ovals, probably good enough to be in the 500, but I would question if she would be an early race caution given the pace being some two seconds off the leaders. Guidry on the other hand? I think that he's an oval racer and probably isn't particularly good on road courses.

As do I, although that is because I can see if Gachnang can even break into the Indy 500 field as I known Hirate and Guidry stand a good chance.

Looks like Gachnang is going to be on the bubble for the 500 at this point given the 33rd fastest status. Attrition might be our best friend in races at Onyx as the power is lacking in the engine or so it appears. The chassis is good handling however. Hirate and Guidry are certainly going to make the field of 33 at Indy unless something drastic happens given the speed of the cars.

35th isnt what we hoped, but at least we can only improve :)

Attrition will be a good friend of ours assuming that one can drag these cars to the finish.

Before the first training sessions of the year begin, here's the qualifying procedure:

There will be two sessions. The race weekend's entry will be split in the middle. Say, we have 33 entries for a weekend. Therefore, 17 cars will qualify on the first session, with the remaining spots being filled up in the second session. Of course, the number of cars that can qualify depends on the type of track:

1-1,25 mile ovals: 28 cars
1,5 mile ovals: 30 cars
2 mile ovals: 34 cars
Indianapolis 500: 33 cars
Pocono 500: 38 cars
Road courses: 30 cars
Street courses: 26 cars

As for the points system, I'll just use the system the CART series has used until 2003. Prize money will also be awarded to all drivers that finish a race, as had been the case in 2015. With that being said, let's kick off the 2016 IndyCar Series season! First, free practice from Interlagos!

That's tough luck for Jack Christopherson. He had to go into the 2nd qualifying session, where he would score a lap time that would have brought him the pole position! But since he only qualified on the 2nd session, he'll have to start from 21st position!

I'm pretty happy with Ryder topping literally every session she's been in so far. :D

Hirate ran a qualifying lap good for 8th if had only done it in the first round of qualifying. According to my math, Jack Christopherson would starting 20th and Hirate in 21st. Either way, both drivers might charging through the field given the times good for pole and 8th if they had only ran it in Q1. We clearly found something between the practice sessions as Hirate gained some 2.1 seconds from Q1, Guidry gained 1.3 seconds, and Gachnang gained about half a second. At the same time, Guidry would have missed the race in Q1, but good for 26th in Q2. I suspect Guidry might have to hope for attrition while Hirate charges up the running order.

Great effort for "Pechito" Lopez, but Matteo should've entered too since he was faster than JM. Something must've happened in the car during the final qualy as he lost more than 2 secs. Well, we'll see how things are on the race.

Before I post the results of the Brahma Valentine's Day Grand Prix of Brazil, a quick word about prize money:

A win at the Indy 500: 250.000 $
A win at any other 500-mile race: 200.000 $
A win at a 400-mile race: 175.000 $
A win at a 300-mile race: 150.000 $
A win at a road race: 125.000 $
A win at a 200-mile oval race: 100.000 $

That's how it was in 2015 and that's how it will be in 2016. However, the distribution will change over next year. Before I'll do an incoherent explanation, here's an example:

1st: 100.000/125.000/150.000/175.000/200.000/250.000
2nd: 80.000/100.000/120.000/140.000/160.000/180.000
3rd: 70.000/90.000/110.000/130.000/150.000/170.000
4th: 60.000/80.000/100.000/120.000/140.000/160.000
5th: 50.000/60.000/70.000/80.000/90.000/100.000
6th: 40.000/50.000/60.000/70.000/80.000/90.000
7th: 30.000/40.000/50.000/60.000/70.000/80.000
8th: 25.000/35.000/45.000/55.000/65.000/75.000
9th: 20.000/30.000/40.000/50.000/60.000/70.000
10th: 15.000/25.000/35.000/45.000/55.000/65.000
11th: 10.000/20.000/30.000/40.000/50.000/60.000
12th: 5.000/15.000/25.000/35.000/45.000/55.000
Everyone that qualified for the race: 2.500/12.500/22.500/32.500/42.500/52.500

I decided to reward those that qualified for a race, too. In IndyCar, it's already an achievement to qualify after all. Now that we've got this out of the way, let's start the race!
