I'm sure that's a catalyst for deep thoughts and debates on the inherent nature of the human being.

Correct thread this time

Everything can be art if you want it. That's my opinion, sincere.

Basically it was Enzo trying to bully some governing body or other by threatening to pull Ferrari out of Grand Prix racing (sound familiar at all?). The cars were entered under a NART (North American Racing Team) entry instead. Also noteworthy in that the colours on the Maserati mc12 are a direct tribute.

Edit: Oh bums, there was another page. Midgrid's beaten me to it. Sorry.

Also, sorry for two posts, but i feel the need to say something along the lines of

The most boring daub ever committed to an F1 car. I'm not saying it's particularly ugly, it is ugly in that teenage airbrush art sense, but good GOD it's unimaginative and bland.

And of course a child's painting of an F1 car...

Hey, anyone who doesn't like the footwork, come up with something better. Color, scan, and post here.

Or you can just be cheap and use photoshop like I did :P
(BTW I've been doing liveries for years and your VR-01 template is quite possibly the best I've ever used. Would it be possible to make a blank template of a car from 2003-2005?)

Thank you much, I'll move a car from that era up in my queue. Right now I'm doing a couple of Gulf Porsches.

Primarily because of, instead of actual sponsors, they have THIS COULD BE YOU and YOUR LOGO HERE and (my personal favourite) THIS IS A COOL PLACE.

I think it´s quite an original way to atract sponsors indeed. I love the checkered flag thingie!

Original, yes. Confidence-inspiring ... not so much. If Hispania were a financially-stable team and were doing it because they didn't really need sponsors, then it would be a delightful jab at the commercialism in the sport. But as it stands, it looks like they're just desperate for sponsors.

That said, there are a few hidden messages in fine print all over the car.

Am I the only one whom this new red/white livery reminds of the former Super Aguri team? As if there was a "stock" reject livery in red and white :D

I agree! I was just looking at it again and it struck me about it's likeness to good old SA!

Common consensus on the internet is that it's a BAR Honda livery painted onto a BMW Sauber.

I guess "boring" is an odd number and "eccentric" is an even one, because when you add those two boring organizations together, you've got a whole new can of worms.

BAR were almost always consistantly boring, while the Swiss are a bunch of nutters, is I think what he meant.

I liked that livery as well. It was made on the corporative, classic colors of the Telefónica company. A while later, they basically reversed the colors and came up with what they use now:

Image

The car would have probably looked better on a blue livery with lime letters, instead of the other way round.

In fact, all what they needed to do was having the whole car painted like the rear wing.

BTW, aerodinamically-wise that was one of the best cars of the season. Seriously. For some reason, they couldn't generate enough grip over a single lap in qualifying and were confined to the final row, but on race day they were less than two seconds off the pace. With a proper engine, and not a former Stewart engine from the 1998 season (which wasn't very good even in 1998), that car would have scored lots of points.

Gibernau had it on his Honda for a few years, lovely livery:
