Interview GianCarlo Minardi

Post by f1-gast »

Well i'd send him a mail for having a interview.
But i really don't know what to ask, he got a huge history in the autosport.

Do you guys know some questions i can ask him ?

How do you decided to get involved in Motorsport?

Would you imagine the team would last for so many years in Formula 1?

What were the feelings when the team was sold to Paul Stoddart? Were there any other chances to save the team?

Who is the best driver you ever had?

What was the best moment and the worse?

Well would be great, i can just ask it in english that isn't a problem, but would be great if you or some one else could translate it.
I get the answers in Italian, and my italian is like Minardi writing english.

Who was in your opinion your most gifted driver of all?
What was your most pleasant year as a F1 team owner?
And your most frustrating year?
Did you believe you'd be truly successful in F1 one day?

How did your success in lower formulae prepare you for Formula 1? Why did you make the jump?

Minardi was often called 'everybody's second favourite team,' did you receive many well-wishes from fans?

What did you feel when:
Pierluigi Martini led that lap at Estoril in 1989?
(and/or) Martini's front row starting position at Phoenix in 1990?
(and/or) Gaston Mazzacane running 3rd at Indianapolis in 2000?
Nissanymania! Friday has never been the same since.

The car in front is a Stefan.

Well, I won't refuse this chance as well...

"When do you think did your team had the most positive fan reactions?"
"What tips could you give someone who wants to enter the world of racing team management?"
"What's your favourite race track?" (for a more personal approach to the whole thing)
"If you'd get another chance in Formula 1, which drivers would you hire today?"

What does he think of Perez Sala?

And why did he choose to run as mayor for the Lega Nord party ?

For what purpose did his team serve the best espresso on the pit lane? (I mean this honestly; a question such as this can grant a great insight into why Minardi did many things.)

My question would be: was there a point where Minardi went really close to become a strong team?

I think they were pretty close to achieve that in 1995 (with the Mugen-Honda engine contract) and under Rumi ownership in 1999-2000 (they had a nice, humble, efficient chassis; they just couldn't get their hands over a proper engine).
Go home, Bernie Ecclestone!
