Leclerc is definitely making Hamilton's domination in another universe look like nothing in comparison. :D I wouldn't be surprised to see him beat Verstappen's win record (16) from last year. He's won every race he's finished, and I think he would have had at least a second place in Monaco if he hadn't retired. :o

Ah, if only we had some kind of fantasy series that would eliminate Leclerc and make it only about Gasly and Sainz...

That would definitely be more interesting. :P I think Gasly would be in the lead, but not by nearly as much as Leclerc is now...

At Hockenheim, both Leclerc and Gasly fail to finish (though the latter is classified in 8th and also gets the point for fastest lap), and Stroll takes advantage by winning for the second time in his career! Sainz gets yet another second place, while Albon is third. Kubica gets his and Williams' best finish of the season.

2019 (After eleven races):

Leclerc 233 (9 wins)
Gasly 158 (1 win, 4 2nd, 2 3rd)
Sainz 132 (4 2nd, 1 3rd)
Stroll 117 (1 win, 2 3rd)
Albon 109 (3 3rd)
Norris 101 (2 2nd, 2 3rd)
Magnussen 91 (1 2nd, 1 3rd)

After crashing out at Hockenheim, Leclerc returns to form by taking the full 26 points at Hungaroring. Sainz takes his fifth second place of the season, while Gasly has to settle for third. All ten drivers finish, with Kubica last.

2019 (After twelve races):

Leclerc 259 (10 wins)
Gasly 173 (1 win, 4 2nd, 3 3rd)
Sainz 150 (5 2nd, 1 3rd)
Stroll 121 (1 win, 2 3rd)
Albon 119 (3 3rd)

Leclerc takes his eleventh win of the season at Spa, as well as another point for fastest lap. Albon replaced Gasly at Red Bull and also beat him to second place. Norris missed out on a second place after a late car failure, but is classified in fifth.

Leclerc 285 (11 wins)
Gasly 188 (1 win, 4 2nd, 4 3rd)
Sainz 150 (5 2nd, 1 3rd)

Leclerc takes yet another win at Monza, giving Ferrari a rare home victory. He also gets the point for fastest lap. Like at Spa, Albon finishes second. The biggest surprise, however, is Giovinazzi taking his first podium!

2019 (After fourteen races):

Leclerc 311 (12 wins)
Gasly 198 (1 win, 4 2nd, 4 3rd)
Albon 155 (2 2nd, 3 3rd)
Sainz 150 (5 2nd, 1 3rd)
Stroll 141 (1 win, 2 3rd)
Norris 135 (2 2nd, 2 3rd)
Magnussen 107 (1 2nd, 1 3rd)

Oof, now that Leclerc's really got into his stride, those two wins he was at least a minute ahead of the guy in 2nd. Oh dear this season is dull :D

Red Bull also seemed to admit defeat and inexplicably swapped drivers with Toro Rosso, in spite of Gasly being Leclerc's "main challenger" for the title. :P Though now they have their drivers in second and third, which is probably the best they can ask for this year. :D

The Singapore Grand Prix results in another win for Leclerc. Albon finishes second with Norris third. Maybe the biggest surprise (beating Williams' first retirement of the season) is Magnussen finishing last but taking the fastest lap!

2019 (After fifteen races):

Leclerc 336 (13 wins)
Gasly 210 (1 win, 4 2nd, 4 3rd)
Albon 173 (3 2nd, 3 3rd)
Sainz 158 (5 2nd, 1 3rd)
Norris 150 (2 2nd, 3 3rd)
Stroll 147 (1 win, 2 3rd)
Magnussen 110 (1 2nd, 1 3rd)

Leclerc clinches the title with five races to go, taking the full 26 points at Sochi. Albon finishes second for the fourth time in a row, with Sainz third. The Williams drivers were the only retirements this time.

Gasly 216 (1 win, 4 2nd, 4 3rd)
Albon 191 (4 2nd, 3 3rd)

After four consecutive second places, Albon takes his first win ever at Suzuka! Sainz finishes second (already the sixth time this season). Leclerc finishes third – the first time this season he has finished a race and not been first! Less surprisingly, he sets the fastest lap.

2019 (After seventeen races):

Leclerc 378 (14 wins, 1 3rd)
Gasly 228 (1 win, 4 2nd, 4 3rd)
Albon 216 (1 win, 4 2nd, 3 3rd)

At the U.S. Grand Prix, Leclerc takes yet another win and fastest lap, equaling Verstappen's win record from last season. Albon is second (not a big surprise either) and overtakes Gasly for second place in the championship. Norris finishes third – the 14th podium for McLaren who are yet to win a race this year!

2019 (After nineteen races):

Leclerc 430 (16 wins, 1 3rd)

Albon 252 (1 win, 6 2nd, 3 3rd)
Gasly 249 (1 win, 4 2nd, 5 3rd)

Gasly takes a surprise win for Toro Rosso after a chaotic race in Brazil! Sainz gets McLaren's ninth second place of the year, and Giovinazzi is third. Albon lost the win after a late crash but takes seventh place and fastest lap.

Leclerc 432 (16 wins, 1 3rd)
Gasly 274 (2 wins, 4 2nd, 5 3rd)

The 2020 season finally started in Austria. Norris starts the season with his first win, Sainz completed a 1-2 for McLaren, with Norris' fastest lap giving the team the full 44 points. Gasly gets a third place for AlphaTauri, while Latifi debuts with a sixth place – impressive, even if he was the last finisher...

Norris 26 (1 win)
Sainz 18 (1 2nd)
Gasly 15 (1 3rd)
Ocon 12 (best result: 4th)

And here's 2020 in its entirety... I expected Albon domination, which wasn't the case in the end. He did manage to take the title despite doing his best not to, but Norris still had a slight chance in the season finale. Lando actually led the championship after five races and even took the lead back briefly after Monza, but after that Alex led to the end, though his lead was down to just four points at times.

What else? Norris took his first wins, Russell his first podium (for Williams, not Mercedes!), and probably the most surprisingly, Latifi wasn't last in the championship (even excluding the replacement drivers).

I was hoping Sainz would win this (him and Albon finished tied on points in real life as the highest non-eliminated drivers after all), so we ended up with all the drivers from the top 3 teams for 2021 being out (yes I still consider Ferrari a top 3 team and last year was just a blip).

As it is, Sainz definitely looks the favourite for 2021 if Ferrari can get their act together, and his possible challengers are Norris, Ocon and Stroll! (Oh and Russell if Hamilton's talks fall through). ;-)

My current bet is that Norris will get it in 2021. With the regs so close to 2020, I don't expect Ferrari to be improving too much, but McLaren will be in the hot seat.

I'm also predicting a title for Norris. I'm expecting the title fight to be more like 2020 than 2019, though (not because of Norris throwing away good results, but the competition between teams being closer). :)

The pre-season favorites shine in Bahrain with Norris winning and Sainz finishing second. The more surprising hero of the race is Yuki Tsunoda – third on his debut! Mick Schumacher places last out of eight finishing drivers (though two others are classified, Gasly even getting the fastest lap point). The less said about Mazepin, the better.

2021 (After one race):

Norris 25 (1 win)
Sainz 18 (1 2nd)
Tsunoda 15 (1 3rd)
Stroll 12 (best result: 4th)
Giovinazzi 10 (best result: 5th)
Ocon 8 (best result: 6th)
Russell 6 (best result: 7th)
Schumacher 4 (best result: 8th)
Gasly 3 (best result: 9th)
Latifi 1 (best result: 10th)
Mazepin 0 (best result: DNF)

Norris takes his second win in a row at Imola (and the fastest lap). Sainz finishes second again while Gasly finishes third after a penalty for Stroll. The rookies had a more difficult race this time, though all of them at least managed to finish (unlike the two Williams drivers).

2021 (After two races):

Norris 51 (2 wins)
Sainz 36 (2 2nd)
Stroll 24 (best result: 2 4th)
Tsunoda 23 (1 3rd)
Gasly 18 (1 3rd)
Ocon 18 (best result: 5th)
Giovinazzi 16 (best result: 5th)
Schumacher 8 (best result: 2 8th)

At Portimao, Norris makes it three out of three. He also takes the fastest lap. Ocon takes his first podium of the year with a second place, Gasly finishes third. All drivers finished the race, Mazepin being the only one to miss out on points.

2021 (After three races):

Norris 77 (3 wins)
Sainz 48 (2 2nd)
Ocon 36 (1 2nd)
Gasly 33 (2 3rd)
Stroll 32 (best result: 2 4th)

That's quite shocking... It really shows how luck can play a part (at least in the early stages of the season) – Latifi failed to finish the only race with more than one retirement... due to an incident with Mazepin.

I doubt he will stay ahead much longer, though Latifi himself surprisingly outscored Magnussen last year. Maybe the fight for last place will be more exciting than the championship battle.

Sainz wins in Monaco. Norris takes another second place while Gasly finishes third. Every driver manages to finish, Schumacher being the only non-points scorer. Tsunoda gets the point for fastest lap.
