Middlebridge Benetton BMW & Pirro

Post by runningboots »

Anyone remember this ?
Image

Does this classify as a reject as they had a car and driver but it never ran at an F1 event ? Anyone know how close this actually came to fruition, or whether it was a sick stunt ?

Well the answer for if this would qualify as an F1 Reject on this site is no. Just because it never ran in an F1 event. For the very same reason we won't see profiles of the likes of Bravo F1 or Dome, since all of these projects were thrown to the dumpster. Never heard of that project before though, guess I learn something new from F1 every day! :D

Too bad I don't know any much Italian :) . But thank's from the link anyway, I can still get the main points from the text by deducing. Seen some of these already at StatsF1 already, but they didn't have much information about the cars. :)

Jorge de Bagration was on an entry list but the Middlebridge team wasn't so I don't think it could count, despite the appearance of a car. The livery screams reject, the inspiration for BAR?
Nissanymania! Friday has never been the same since.

The car in front is a Stefan.

Oh baby, you know how to hit my button matey ! Seems I mistakenly maligned the Ferarri flat-12 with Carlo Chitti's name (in my favourite reject post) when it was the Alfa flat 12 he did (see Minardi Subaru link). Love the shot of the car in the pit lane. Giancarlo Minardi looks right narked and noone wants anything to do with it

Who is the driver in the top left image ?

Top left looks like Alan Jones to me, though I'm not 100% sure!
