Roland Ratzenberger doesn't qualify because of his F1 death. I would assume that you have other died-while-racing drivers on that list.

Drivers that died while racing are eligible (Jo Gartner has a profile), just not in a grand prix car as Roger Williamson, who is in that list.

I don't think that reject-fatalities should be removed from the list. They are drivers who died while racing in the fastest open-wheeled cars, and their biographies deserve to be deeply analyzed. F1Rejects is here for this, everyone knows everything about Ayrton Senna but very few know about Alan Stacey.

I just clicked the first link out of curiosity and on his wikipedia page it says "Abate preferred to be addressed as "Carlo Mario Abate" instead of his christened name [which was Carlo Maria Abate]." Is that a blatant case of sexism, or what?

I forgot Liuzzi was still a Reject.

He has a great chance to escape Reject status at Monza considering the speed of the Force Indias in low downforce conditions.

I just read Johnny Claes's Wikipedia page, and I think it would be cool to have a profile of him. I find him rather admirable, because he would always attend his home (Belgian) Grand Prix, and even a few others every now and then, even though he usually qualified on the last row. I guess he could've been a sort of fan's favourite underdog/local (anti-)hero, at least that's the feeling I get when I read about him. Besides, rejects from the 1950's are always interesting, though I suppose research on him would be hard to do. So it'll probably never happen, but I still thought I should mention it...

You don't know that. The Force India has been performing well in the second half of this season, so there is a chance he could escape reject status. I think you are too quick to jump to conclusions, and we will have to see how he goes in his first couple of races before we can start making predictions about his ability to score points.

A while ago, there was talk about whether drivers who had scored a fastest lap but not the necessary positions were eligible for inclusion on the website. How about laps in the lead of a Grand Prix? Markus Winkelhock got 6 of them in his only start - and what an exciting race that was.

Winkelhock probably holds the record for greatest % of laps lead in an F1 career. Masahiro Hasemi got a fastest lap in his only F1 race.

I used to be almost sure about this, since I surfed f1stats and calculated that Jim Clark led about 50% of his completed laps. Winkie may be 2nd with 36%.

The other day I read an article about the history of the Japanese Grand Prix, and dude, I honestly believe Masahiro Hasemi could've been an epic F1 driver if he would've continued after that race.

Sorry for practising forum archeology, but I thought it would be nice to update this.

Since September 13th, 2009 (last time shinji updated his list), the following people have gained reject status:

Kamui Kobayashi
Nico Hulkenberg
Vitaly Petrov
Lucas di Grassi
Bruno Senna
Karun Chandhok

So far, none of them has done enough to escape rejectdom, although Kobayashi-san has scored a couple of 6th places, Hulkenberg one and Petrov a 5th.

On the current grid, Sébastien Buemi, Jaime Alguersuari, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Sakon Yamamoto were rejects before this season, and so far neither of them has done enough to escape that status. The last person to do so was Adrian Sutil with his 4th place at Monza last season (in fact he escaped because of Hamilton's crash in the last lap, although he would equally have managed to do so this season).
