Today I got my first article published on Autosport.com!
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/94159Have any of the F1 Rejects community had some publishing success?

Not myself, and that's very unlikely to happen to me, since I'm a software engineer by trade...
I replied just to use the chance and say, "congratulations!"

Well done, hope it's the first of many.

Superb mate! The Autosport MotoGP section could use a new reporter or two as the amount of errors that I seem to find in their articles is shocking!
Here's to many more, good luck!

Very well done!
I've been published a couple of times in Irish papers about non-motorsport stuff (not irate letters to the editor either I might add!).

Congratulations! good to know there is a reject in the autosport ranks!
At what point will you be guest editing an Andrea Moda special edition of the print magazine?

I hope they didn't ask him to pay for publishing that!

Good job man! Is this going to be the beginning of F1 Reject's slow takeover of motorsport journalism?
I'd love to get into motorsport journalism, but there's no crowd here in Jamaica interested in anything motorsport. Maybe a blog, but there are a million of those, i'd never get any more than a handful of people unless i'm above average and/or plastered it all over the internet.

Looks like that won't be me at any time soon, then... I read that name as "Alvaro Batistuta" and wondered if he was related to an Argentinian footballer.

And just to make Cynon happy, I've posted one about Simona too.

Glad you're publishing good-news stories! Well-written too. How easy was it to get work experience there? I'm guessing you're based near Teddington, like the magazine?

Well, here's hoping that this leads to a permanent position - how long will your placement run for?

Today's my last day, I had an excellent week (and got to go down to the LAT photo archive, and flick through all the old Autosport magazines!) It's relatively simple to get a placement, just contact one of the big-wigs by e-mail (such as Edd Straw or Andrew van de Burgt).

I doubt you could call it success, but I've had a few computer game reviews published online. One of them was on a racing simulator.

Again, not really success, but I wrote for a wee independent motorsport website for a while.I did break a few minor stories days or months ahead of teams actually confirming them to the public, those being Petrov & Ho-Pin Tung joining Renault in 2010, Jamie McMurray returning to Earnhardt-Ganassi in the #1 car for 2010, and breaking Toyota's withdrawal from F1 before any other major media outlets did (aside from the Japanese one I sourced the story from obviously). So my success have been minor and also my last, after realising media is somewhat of a dead end in terms of employment I've decided to study IT from now on.

Nice one JPM - I also had work published in Autosport earlier this year, although nothing as glamorous as MotoGP (it was a report of a Classic Sports Car Club meeting at Anglesey Circuit). Hope your placement leads to bigger things.

Hate to say it but so is IT at the moment, at least in the North East of England. Out of 23 graduates on my course (graduated July 2011) 5 have jobs so far .... I'm one of the lucky ones.

So are you in touch with Kev Turner then? I need to send him a report when I'm next at a track, but thats the problem; I'm very rarely free on weekends....
