Eight of the most ridiculous failed Formula One projects:

Lion GP - one of the best jokes in motor racing:
Image

Madi 01 - Capable of unbelievable 204 kilometers per hour:
Image

Stefan GP (1998 / 2010) - Tried to use the 1997 Lolas in his first attempt, his second one was very entertaining during the off season three years ago:
Image

FIRST (1989) - We all know the story
Image

Berta (1975) - Argentine project, tried to build thier own engine, which was unreliable and underpowered.
Image

Khadi (1971) - Another soviet project. The engine produced 250 hp, compared to Cosworth's 500 hp
Image

Cosworth 4WD (1969) - Looks as if Hummer did an F1 effort:
Image

Trebron (1993) Massively outdated aerodynamics, never went beyond a model:

In Soviet Union, Formula One Rejects YOU! Pravda today report on great example of glorious socialist engineering. All records saying Lotus 72 is best car of early 1970s is Western capitalist pig propaganda, because is not possible with great Madi and Khadi cars. Also, Zaporozhets better car than BMW and Mercedes-Benz in independent not biased glorious Soviet auto magazine.

TOT most idiotic decisions in F1 in the last 25 years; no particular order.

-- FIA granting an entry to Life, having dismissed the FIRST chassis before.
-- Mastercard deciding they wanted the Lola on the grid before planned, one year exactly.
-- Damon Hill's decision to try overtake Schumacher's car just as soon as he saw the Benetton coming back into the track. It was really stupid because a more experienced driver would have waited just a little bit more for an easy overtake.
-- 1 spot to Michael Schumacher for; Stoping his Ferrari at La Rascasse / Overtaking Damon on the formation lap in Silverstone 94. Had he not done that he would have been world champion way before Adelaide and I wouldn't have wasted the spot above on this list.
-- Andrea Sassetti deciding to buy the whole Coloni team, instead of just becoming title sponsor and let good old Enzo do his job.
-- Honda selling the whole operation to Ross Brawn for nothing.
-- Whoever it was hiring Hermann Tilke in the first place. Whoever it was hiring Hermann Tilke for a second time.
-- The FIA, for deciding that infinite tarmac run-offs improve the spectacle.
-- The FIA, for allowing three extra teams at certain conditions, only to change the conditions once nothing could be done, thus leaving those three teams at a massive disadvantage which is taking years to recover. Note that from those three entries only one team is still alive.
-- Whoever at Michelin brought those tyres for the 2005 US GP, to trigger the most embarrassing race ever.
Tread lightly in ARWS. Every decision might be your last.

Though not really Soviet, the Tatra F2 car would actually be relatively competitive.

To be fair, he improved the team from not qualifying for any race 2 seasons in a row to qualifying a car once.
