And think of all the famous Reject teams that have carried the number 31 since that time: LEC (1977), Martini (1978), Rebaque (1979), AGS (1986), Coloni (1988-91) and Simtek (1994) - as well as the not-Rejects-by-the-barest-of-all-margins, Ensign (1975), Osella (1980-83) and ATS (1984).

It sticks out even more than 14, which at least had its time in the sun from 1996-2013 when Sauber, Prost and Red Bull would grab a podium or two with it, before Mark Webber did the once-unthinkable in 2009.

Mercedes do hold the record for the longest winless streak but for teams that didn't disappear then come back again, Ligier holds the record, McLaren now has the 2nd longest.

Even in 1982, where there were 11 winners in the 16 races, this did not happen, as Alain Prost won the first two races

For the 2nd race running a driver celebrating his 150th start qualified on pole in the wet and won the race. It also amused me that the 2 drivers with the longest waits before a first win finished 1-2 yesterday. Sainz and Perez had 338 races between them before claiming that win.

This is the first Grand Prix to have two Dutch drivers race since Brazil 2006 and the first ever to have two Dutch drivers in the points.

Also Nyck de Vries is the first driver to score points in car #45 and that includes Indy 500 entries.

Nyck de Vries is also the 1st Dutch driver to score points on debut. Gijs van Lennep and Max Verstappen came close as both scored on their 2nd starts.

This is also the first season to have two drivers score points on their debut since 2015.

Right, surely lightning can't strike twice with regards to Max Verstappen sealing the 2022 title, if he does then this will be the first time since 2011 that the title has been sealed at Suzuka and the 12th in all. It will be the 14th time the title has been sealed in Japan if you include Fuji 1976 and Aida 1995.

With Nicholas Latifi finally breaking his 2022 points duck in Suzuka, 21 drivers have scored points in 2022, the most since 2005. (There still would have been 21 point-scorers even if you exclude Indianapolis as Tiago Monteiro scored a point on merit at Spa).

There were various points in the sixties and seventies with eight at the same time, the most recent being the 1980 Italian GP, which had Fittipaldi, Andretti, Scheckter, Jones, Piquet, Rosberg, Prost and Mansell. None of them qualified in the front two rows.

I was looking around a bit and found the 1966 season to be fairly interesting,
because that year the top 7 in the final standings were all world champions past, present or future
and that many in a row has not happened before or since:
