So, here is a brief preview of the web design prototye. It might end up looking like this, it might not.

HTML + JavaScript, yes. As a rule, there will be no Flash components anywhere on the website. It's about time we killed off Adobe Flash for good and transitioned to HTML5, so I'm going to try and incorporate as many new features of HTML5 as possible where I can justify it.

I have to concur with that praise - it's a nice, simple and clean layout that does the job perfectly.

Um well im not sure have to discuss the whole site with Kostas.
Im thinking of making a forum but im also thinking to link it to here, since F1rejects is already a place for this talk and so on.

One think i will make is an special email adres were people can send their information to.
But probably there will come more email addresses.

The site for info on unraced Force India cars!
Maybe it's just me and no one else will think of it like that, but I don't think Gill Sans is the best choice. I like the idea of a simple/sans serif/clean-type font for the logo, but that 1 is a problem.

It's saved in vector format so it will take about 5 seconds to redo...although not right now, as this computer doesn't have Adobe Illustrator on it.

What about an special page about cars / teams that actually were for an other serie or just were a rumour.
As Example the Dome F106 that has never been planned to build as F1 car but appeared a few years later as an Formula 3 car.
as confirmed by Hiroshi Yuchi from Dome:

Code: Select all

First of all, thank you for your interest to Dome.

Further to your question about F106, F106 is formula 3 car, not formula 1 car.
Therefore, there is no formula 1 for us ecept for F105.

You can visit our museum in our web site at the following URL.

http://www.dome.co.jp/museum/car_m/index.html

There is also F106.

I hope you will enjyo the museum

Okay, then maybe focus on the chassis to start with, and once all the info known about them is added, research can begin into engines :)

Which teams will be included? Because some where serious efforts, which were completed and tested, like the Dome ore the DAMS, while others were only rumours or obvious jokes (Lion).

Everything I think! Which would be total of approximately 329 entities - that's a mixture of teams that failed to materialise, and cars by teams that already existed but made it to various stages of development before getting canned for a variety of reasons. But that number excludes engine projects that failed to materialise.

Too bad university libraries don't seem to have too many F1 books, or else I might contribute something to this project. As someone, who studies history, I sure like to find necessary information in books, while I find web searching a bit troublesome ;).

Well the problem is that its hard to search for books, the best way to find out is through racing magazines, papers, old F1 news etc
What also helps, what im doing right now, is to get directly in contact with drivers team members etc... also the help from outstanders helps me alot.

But as said before unracedF1.com is an open project, so anyone that can provide information or wants to help is welcome :)
everyone that helped will be named by his full name or nickname on a special page :)

I already have the full support of Forix (6thgear) with their list.

Though my only consern are the photo;s i have from the teams etc.

Will this site cover test drivers who never made it into an F1 race seat? Or perhaps famous drivers/riders from other disciplines, e.g. Rossi, McRae, Loeb, testing F1 cars?

I think this is a great idea, and would be happy to get involved in some way once it is up and running.

Me like others, would be happy to help if required.

Here is a sight of old F1 news from 1990 to about 1995. It doesnt have any info thats new regarding teams, maybe the odd rumour or too.

It does have like Pacific GP have signed Michael Bartles for 1993, but have abandoned and fully focused on 1994 etc etc.

Has a bit of rumours of potential drivers for the next year or so.

In addition to abandoned teams, engines, can do drivers who signed with a team but didnt go ahead, and also confirmed circuits to the calendar which are eventually postponed/cancelled (China GP 1999 in Zhulai!) or Autopolis (Japan) 1992 etc. (Just a suggestion though!)

Heres the link!

Well the above named projects are good but i think we first need to focus on The teams / cars and after that the engines.
if those to have been completed i think we its possible to focus on the drivers and tracks.

Its the same with the S192 (BMW) that became the Andrea Moda S921, what became the Bravo Judd S931`, What became the Simtek S941, What became the Simtek S951 :)

I do have the full story about the Glas team but i don't know it out of my head, but the GLAs team was an Mexican attempt to join the Formula 1 the guy behind it was if im correct d Fernando Gonzalez, GLAS was working closely with Lamborghini and Lamborghini gave GLAS the full capacity to design their chassis is Italy, what also happend, the annouced driver was Giovanni Aloi, but for some reason Fernando dissapeared in thin air including 30million euro, but since Lamborrghini already had these V12 engines they continued on it also the chassis.
That's the story how i have it in mine (short version)

As far as i know Gonzalez is known by Interpol.

You're listing a Daewoo project for 1995 in you Excel file, but it seems like Daewoo only considered to enter as an engine manufacturer:

And the Shadow comeback romours were about Le Mans, not about F1
